Price was right, ore than enough memory for the file recovery I requested.

While a complete backup was done, 1. Four user accounts were put into one account 2. All files for all user accounts were combined into one folder 3. The new owner account had a mishmash of files from various previous user accounts with multiple downloads, documents, pictures, etc. folders. 4. When asked the Geek in charge said only that this problem would be used for training purposes 5. No effort was made to provide me an explanation of what I was given. 6. I was charged for a flash-drive for backup but it was not used and had to be redone -- sloppy. 7. A Geek tech CD was left in the CD drive -- sloppy. Since the Geeks did have access to all accounts and folders and files (else they could not have done the complete backup), they could have been much more effective in restoration of the system. The sloppiness indicates a lack of attention and/or SOP.

Product was average but I ended up returning it because it didn't work with the cable carrier

the laptop was to be transformed to the new one, was the the job was not done at all. All that was taken from the old one laptop was the pictures and the webroot. all else was left for me to put back, it was not the money I paid

I didn't really need this item, it turns out. Sorry I spent the money.

No information on how to download information once a week

They left a screw loose in my computer and now it crashes once in a while

My personal experience was absolutely pathetic and disheartening. Uninterested and inexperienced agents must have been working when I had my computer taken to the Geek Squad. they did not backup my hard drive correctly they forgot that I had a partitioned hard drive apparently so all the data was lost on the one side of it. The customer service was completely subpar. One of the guys thought he knew more than I did about computers and sort of bragged about it I wasn't impressed at all. It's not a competition I'm paying you to do a service and you did not do it right. Although this might not be a reflection of Best Buy or Geek Squad as a whole however this is my experience unfortunately. It was pathetic.

Dropped off an iMac computer that the LCD went out on, requested geek squad to back up the entire hard drive, after picking everything back up it wasn't all backed up had to go to the store a second time and have them complete the job

Best Buy made it quick and easy to back up our files.

got what I asked for but not sure how to access the data, i.e. pics are saved but can't open the pics on my new Mac. Maybe I should have gone back in to figure it out, guess I will when I need the data.

Geek squad unable to repair my computer Staff very young and non-professional. Unable to do major upgrades had to take to other shop to work done, after paying for Annual Geek squad protection, very disappointed with service

When I first started using the "Geek Squad" a few years back, I was impressed. Especially after having been "screwed" over by an incompetent local computer shop. I recently have taken my computers back again to the Geek Squad, and they sold me the service that was not even needed. I wont even go into details about how many times it took for Best Buy to finally fix my computer. Some of their repair or salesmen need more education about fixing computers. I know this because I have been around computers since the Commodore Vic 20. I would not recommend the Geek Squad unless you have time and money to waste.
