Great Service, but bad for backing up my computer.

They can't be found anywhere, not even on my backup device. I am very disappointed and extremely angry since this was business documents that we cannot get back.

Good service but not good result

Really good attitudes and friendly people. Had I got my pictures as I was told they were retrieved, i would have given it a 5 star review.

Very disappointed

My documents and pictures were not there and they weren't on my computer.

file transfer to new computer

I lost all my important data.

I purchased a portable hard drive and paid to have the hard drive backed up before service was done. The intake "agent" was very good, however none of the important data was found on either drive. The computer was sent to Kentucky for data recovery. It has been about a month and still no computer and no data. Probably one of the worst service experiences I have had in recent years. While I'm sure no one cares, I sold all Best Buy stock I owned in our stock portfolio as I do not want to invest in this company.

That is why I didn't renew my membership.

Not backed up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Not only is GEEKSQAUD horrible but because I've had nothing but issues with them (ya my fault for giving turn another shot) I had to buy a portable hard drive so they could Beck up my business computer this time. Imagine my surprise when I get it home and they only backed up my One Drive folder... Ya... $100 to back up the one thing in there I obviously already had. Customer service is a joke. They won't help you over the phone. The store leaves you on hold for hours. No refund though they didn't do the services pays for. Unhappy

Right now this computer is useless to me. Paper in folder says they transferred my work files, can't find a one.

Poor service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brought a laptop in for repairs and asked for a data backup prior to it be shipped out so I could still access my files on another computer. Geek squad only backed up one folder on of the two hard drives on my computer. They did not back up any of my actual documents that I needed for work. Not sure how a place like Best Buy and geek squad can't understand the concept of a dual hybrid drive laptop in order to do data backup correctly. Extremely frustrated with their service. Don't recommend using them for even something as simple as data back up.

poor diagnostics

The salesman (I wont call him a Geek Squad professional, because EPIC fail) told me they would do xyz before he charged my card. And when I returned and tested it, he was like, OH, yeah. Leave it here and we will do that but it will be another 2-3 days. Really?! sad. Worse experience i have ever had with them.

Frustrated and disappointed

Kaspersky not installed properly--online Geek Squad assured me they had fixed the problem (caused by Geek Squad) but they had not. Local Geek Squad had me pack up computer and bring it back for correct completion of work, but still not working correctly. I feel cheated and "taken" by Geek Squad and Best Buy. Now paying an independent IT person to try to straighten these problems.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i went for a transfer from my external hard drive to another device, the broke my hard drive, wires inside were ripped, cover was completely apart, they gave me my hard drive in 3 pieces, they lost my power cord and mu USB wire, when asked the employee why my hard drive looks like this she states it ok, its only the cover ( mind you it was broken) i asked for it to be fixed immediately, was not happy, and they still were not able to put it back together,

Geek Squad cut corners and just put all of my files (and folders) into one folder titled "Geek Squad Back-up" so I had to go and search for each of my file folders in order to retrieve my data. It became a cumbersome task that should have been avoided after my paying $150 for the service.

Unacceptable

Paid $150 for them to back up my hard drive before they reloaded the software. What a RIP off!! Really I buy insurance and then it costs me $150 to do any work. Completely unacceptable. The back up was acceptable but really paying for this on top of the geek squad service.

I expressed how my computer seemed to not be working after having purchased it two months before and the guy literally scoffed at me. Turned out- the computer hard drive was bad. And I had to pay to back up my info bc it’s my fault for saving it on computer without backing it up elsewhere.

Poor Staff Quality Store 1448

This store told me the hard drive on my old computer died. It did not. I spent money unnecessarily on a hard drive and a miserable new computer. I cannot get through to the store to see if the manager will take back the icky computer they sold me.

Lenovo crashed in 8 months

Neither local nor national Geek Squad could retrieve any files from it. I lost everything. I would not recommend Lenovo! Happy to say that Best Buy gave me credit toward purchase of a new computer -- an HP (my previous HP lasted 8 years!)....

So rude

Turns out the hard drive was defective and even though it wasnt my fault, I was forced to pay for them to back up my stuff and had to purchase the external hard drive.
