A fun, early Tom Cruise movie

If for some reason you haven't seen this movie, Tom Cruise plays a rookie driver named Cole Trickle who joins the NASCAR circuit. He knows how to drive fast, but not how to handle a car. Robert Duvall plays his coach, Harry Hogge, Nicole Kidman is his love interest and his rival is Randy Quaid. Without giving away much of the plot, if you saw Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, this is where the some of the jokes and references came from. Fun movie, nothing crazy but a good time.

    Launching pad for 90's Nascar

An introspective look at the world of Nascar, from sponsors and bosses to personal relationships and on track rivalries, you realize this is an all-encompassing business. The drivers who we all love & hate are just the sprinkles on a very, very big cake.

Watch a Cole goes from a test driver to rookie to champion while helping a fellow drive who was injured in a wreck to become the best speed driver that he can for all NASCAR fans. Loosely based on the RCR racing team and how it got started. No digital copy code.

Days of Thunder is a pretty solid movie about a rookie who gets in a bad crash and falls in love with his doctor and then gets the courage to return to the track. I thought the race scenes were the best part of the movie and sometimes, if you're a true NASCAR fan, you can tell the director used shots from mutiple tracks to put together one race scene.

I have this movie on VHS. Yes, VHS! Much better on blu ray. Still a good movie overall. Robert Duvall is great in this movie.
