Days of Thunder - 4K Blu-Ray [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray]

I had to get this for my 4k collection. Im glad they picked this title to get the 4k treatment, but how does it look? Well, they did go pretty heavy handed with the grain here. It was released the same day as Top Gun 4k. Top Gun being the better transfer of the two. If you are a grain-hater, you might not want this title. Buy the movie because you love it, just do not buy it for the transfer. I will add that the film does look very nice at times and it improves as it goes, much like Karate Kid 4k.

One of my favorite movies in a 4k format is a blessing.

I've been a fan of this movie since I was a child, I've owned the DVD, Blu-ray, and now the 4k UHD Blu-ray. They did remove some grain but enough is there to retain the feel, the expanded color and high dynamic range is excellent. Overall it's a feast for your eyes but what about your ears? The only disappointment is it's a standard 5.1 track, which they mixed an Atmos track and the bass is severely lacking throughout the movie but even still I highly recommend this be on your purchase list.

I have this one on blu-ray from way back in the day. The updated transfer for the picture quality is the best it has every looked. This was shot on film so there is a fine grain which gives it a nice look to the film. Colors are good they have increased with the 4k over the blu-ray as well. The sound was great just wish it had an atmos track. Overall a great new transfer and I got this on a one times deal of the day for 10.99 so I cant complain at all.
