Not what I expected

It is somewhat like metroid until you die. Then the whole game basically starts over from scratch and you lose everything and the entire maps shifts so everything is dofferent. Not sure it will keep my attention due to frustration of constant restarts.

Good game but very punishing

One of the best roguelites in recent memory

Combat and traversal make progressing through levels a joy as you slash down everything in your path. Enough alternate paths to to keep runs feeling fresh after many hours. Permanent upgrades and weapon unlocks help create a nice sense of progression with each run, win or lose. All in all a fun and challenging experience.
