People who know about this game, know that the development cycle was terrible for this game. Delays, Techland(developers of the original Dead Island) left this game in limbo to make "Dying Light", only for Dambuster Studios to pick it up and finally bring it back from the dead (see what I did there?) But seriously, this game is more of the original game, made better. It runs smoothly, even during multiplayer (3 people at a time in a game). *NEW PLAYER BEWARE* Amy is hard mode in this game (I learned that the hard way), but dang, is it fun to slice and dice, or pummel zombie skulls, or beat them down and finish them off with a beautiful, gory head stomp! This game was in Limbo for years, and now its finally free, and it is so much fun!

If you liked the first one, you’ll love this one. Everything the original did well, this does better. The things it didn’t do very well, have mostly been improved. Weapon system is easier to navigate. It’s more interesting and fun to upgrade weapons. Weapons seem more durable, the first seemed like an endless quest to stay armed. Combat is more fluid , although still a tad clunky. It adds to the excitement. The curveballs are a great add and set up outstanding tactical choices with your load out. This is the ultimate zombie beat up fun fest.

Amazing game, perfect follow up to the original game. Very replay-able and fun with friends!

Super fun zombie game. It is one of those games you can just turn your brain off and have fun! There is lore you can find around the locations if you like it. One of the things that I do hate is that zombies just spawn out random spots. They just don't ever stop spawning at times, which becomes frustrating. Overall, it is a fun game.

Its been like 15 yrs since the original & finally the sequel releases after been delayed for so many yrs Dead Island 2 is definitely worth your money im havig alot of fun playing it with friends i love that the game is based in my hometown in LA they nailed it on how LA is suppose to look graphics are insane

This game is an arcade type game that I do absolutely love thus far. It doesn’t seem to come repetitious at all in The fighting attacks etc. The worlds are detailed and filled with interactive items etc I would definitely recommend anyone of age to purchase you will not be upset

Run around L.A. killing zombies and saving people. Definitely better than the competitor. Would recommend this to any PS5 owner. Especially at this price!

If you enjoyed the 1st, you will enjoy this. I believe the 1st Dying Light is superior though. This was fun a bit. Repetitive though. Amazing graphics too.

Really like this game and playing it solo was even a entertaining experience. The weapon variety and different builds made for a really fun experience and the damage system on the zombies is top notch.

Couldnt Resist.. i promised id get it on the series x but im a ps fanboy.. will eventually. Yeah its that good.

I'm big into the whole genre on all different platforms and this lived up to the hype.

This starts off good & hooks you, then gets fast paced really quick, with very tight controls. However, it then gets more & more challenging really quick, too (a bit too quick). Normally, that'd be a good thing, but I'll say that I highly prefer the PS4 remaster of the 1st Dead Island more (The Definitive Edition). The 1st one flowed better -- enemy progression was more balanced with character growth (when you were stronger, the bigger enemies were there for you), & Techland's beautiful settings fit the title more in the 1st game, setting the tone (being an island). As for the imbalanced progression of this game, it could be because there were a few changes in the dev teams, likely breaking the flow of the game (hoards of enemies before the player character is even leveled up enough). Lastly, though this may be subjective, the characters, story, & setting drew me in more in the 1st game. This game does do many things right, like starting right off & hooking you in, with tight controls & a decent story, but I feel the progression could've been better, more balanced (with that Techland feel). On the other hand, this turned out MUCH better than I was expecting, what with its troubled development and all. Bravo to Dambuster Studios (but would've been better @ $59 than $69).

A fun romp thought Hollywood's Zombie population...literally. The setting in this game is absolutely amazing and it just draws you in like few others can. Really captivating indeed, and much better than Dead Island's Rotten Paradise setting. And while the graphics, and the gore are far superior to the original, I have to say, they broke the Throw-able Weapons system. It just doesn't work as the original and thus it becomes sorta useless. And that's a bummer. The spawn system is also broken. You can go ahead and clean up a house only to turn around and find it filled with zombies again. At least the weapons re-spawn and level up with your character, so you don't feel like you have to hold on to everything you find. Regardless, this is still a fun game. And while some of its gameplay mechanics are inferior to the original, the setting is just so engrossing. Mowing down YouTubers, Influencers, Actors, and other Hollywood denizens right inside their homes and home studios never gets old.

I actually feel like this game looks and plays better than it’s competition, but I have to remove a single star for the fact that this game was delayed for years only to release in a semi finished state. Despite all that, it still slaps and it has an ambitious story that actually aligns with the previous “Dead Island” game that I originally played on PS3. The last thing I’ll say about this game is that it’s always run great on my PS5 and I just haven’t heard great things about playing elsewhere, so that’s something that needs to be taken into account. If first person zombie basher games are you’re thing, than this is for you.

I've been a massive fan of Dead Island since the original and couldn't wait to play this game. It was in developer limbo for so long I thought we'd never get to try it. However, that wait is finally over and the game is epic! It has a really fun story with great character variety. The combat is fun and satisfying and the physics are out of this world! While Dead Island 2 isn't the perfect sequel it's a must buy for fans of the game. Looking forward to the expansions.

The graphics are amazing and the new gore system is great still playing through the story and side quests, all around think they did a good job

Good game. Its a first person view game, which can sometimes make me nauseous after playing for a while. However it is fun and good so far
