Really expected more from Hideo Kojima but I gave this game a good 3-4 hours and…no. I paid $40 for a glorified walking simulator.

Kojima has made a beautiful Usps simulator. Story is completely non sense but in this politically correct world who's gonna criticize Kojima?

    Masterpiece

This game is a masterpiece. I don't receive this as a successor or an evolution of Metal Gear whatsover. Sure some ideas/mechanics may be similar to Metal Gear, but it's an artful, unique game that has all the deep and amazing parts of a videogame, movie, story, and Nature. I didn't do much research, but just saw people's horrible reviews and gameplay videos, but I decided to give it a shot. When I first started playing, I was blown away by the immersive soundtrack and rain (I also play with 7.4.4 surround sound system on OLED which may have made this experience so amazing). It was relaxing, intriguing, stylish, and trance-like. Full of art with Planet-Earth like visuals. Then, when I moved, I thought it was so creative in how the terrain correlated with my fatigure/energy in what I was carrying and such. Having been through a nasty nasty divorce, this game has been somewhat therapeutic and reflective. It's like a peaceful dreamworld, but the peace is intermittently threatened. I can go on and on, BUT....if you appreciated the movie MARTIAN, enjoy nature, and innovative gameplay with SCI-Fi elements, this is a game for you. I can understand why some people feel this game is boring, but that could be due to personality or taste....

Addictive game with a unique story

I got this game from a friend as gift. It is confusing in the beginning to keep with all new and unique game play mechanics and eventually you will get used to it. The game story is unique and intriguing. You are courier guy who has to deliver from point A to B using the equipment you carry and face bandits who steal your items. I agree the game play is not fast paced like other games but it addictive and makes you want to come back to do deliveries repeatedly and the more you finish your deliveries you get new equipment and start connecting the world. i would recommend this game for its gorgeous world and unique game play

    Kojima At His Best

    Posted .

I am roughly 8 hours into this game and have enjoyed every second of it. There are many people out there saying this game is boring and I would say that I 100% disagree. Although these individuals are entitled to their opinion, the open world and mission possibilities are endless if you take a few minutes to truly understand the game, and I feel as if those reviewers did not give the game proper attention. There are subtle bits of humor scattered throughout the game that keep it very entertaining and the stunning visuals ensure that you are never in a dull or lifeless looking environment. For those craving action, much like the Metal Gear franchise, there are not only countless opportunities with the various enemies throughout the open world, but missions are completed based entirely on your own schedule and route. The online aspect is awesome where players have the opportunity to help others out by leaving ladders, bridges, and climbing hooks around, along with the occasional warning sign. In the spirit of avoiding any spoilers, I will simply say that in this game, it is very much worth getting past some of the slower moments because there is always something new and exciting waiting just around the corner. Death Stranding is something entirely new and is sure to revolutionize the genre. Much like Red Dead Redemption 2, investing a little more time than the average Call of Duty game will provide huge rewards and will present one of the most photo real and detail oriented experiences currently available on console.

After nearly 3 years, the verdict is.... WOW!!!

3 years! It took me nearly 3 years to finish this game. I played nearly 30 hours of this game, when I lost interest. Some random prepper in the game requesting I deliver him pizzas, drove me to putting this game down for a little less than 3 years, because I didn't want to waste my time as a delivery boy. I decided to beat some games I hadn't finished and picked it back up again. Now that I've beaten it I have only one thing to sum it all up... WOW!!! I'm so glad I pushed through the tedious part of delivery nonsense to people. The story unfolds and it becomes absolutely gripping. I couldn't put it down. I finished it and started back from the beginning the next day. One tip to those getting bored with the mundane deliveries.... stop doing them. focus on the main missions and dismiss the rest. The Story is absolutely worth it! 5/5 would recommend to everyone who loves story driven games!!!

    An absolute masterpiece

I’ll admit I was one of the skeptics of this game and was on the fence but still intrigued... I am very happy I took the plunge and gave the this game a chance! It’s unlike anything you have ever played. Sure it’s an open world game and you craft things and deliver things but it’s way more than that. It’s about connections! Not just with the NPCs of the game world but with other players within the game world. This will go down as an innovative milestone in gaming just like metal gear solid 1. It makes delivering packages an absolute thrill and rewards you for being creative. Hideo Kojima and his team have brought us an absolute masterpiece and Trust me it’s worth your time. Just be patient, have an open mind and immerse yourself in the game and find out for yourself.

Took to long to become great

So there are 70 deliveries in total. It took me around the 30th or 35th delivery to see the greatness in this game. Boring, I mean really boring in the beginning because it’s all walking with no excitement. But once I was 30 hours in boy did it cook!!!!! The story was great but the walking really tainted it from becoming game of the year. You have to be patient, I mean really patient when you start at first and hold off judging it. It delivers halfway or so in.... trust me. Kojima would have really shut the game down if all that walking didn’t exist. Overall I enjoyed it once I was 30+ hours in overall I played 85 hours.
