I understand this game might not have landed with everyone given the gameplay stype, but it was certainly a unique gaming experience. It's a super cinematic and story heavy game and it's very well done in my opinion.

This game is one of the most brilliant games I’ve ever played. Story and game play are very engaging but it is a slow paced game. If you are expecting a run and gun open world get read dead redemption 2. If you want to be immersed is a cinematic-centric 40 hr game this is the one you should get.

Graphics are great. Story is great but the game sometimes feels like a chore. You are a delivery agent, sometimes tedious. My son hated it said its a walking simulator. Its long. Buy it on sale and be committed to finishing.

You will love this game. It’s very interesting game and has a very artistic story. The gameplay is not bad and the story is really what your here for. This is no meta gear and is very grindy in some aspects, but still an interesting game nonetheless.

Amazing game, granted do I feel like a FedEx driver most of the time, yeah, but in an awesome way! The game is so deep and has so many different elements to it, in addition to a very well made story, it’s an amazing game.

    An Original Experience

I’m probably about 10 hours into this game and it’s like nothing else I’ve ever played. Instead of focusing on combat like most other games, this one focuses on hiking and traveling. To make this process engaging, you are given tools such as ladders, ropes, and the ability to build basic structures. It’s kind of refreshing to take a break from my other more competitive games like Modern Warfare and focus instead on taking peaceful (or more dangerous) hikes and feeling the vibe of Death Stranding’s America. There is still a combat aspect to this game, but it is mostly based on stealth and avoidance rather than killing enemies. There are also ways to disable enemies as well. While this aspect is fun in this game and executed well, there are better games to play for combat. Definite buy if you are open to an original experience based on pathfinding and an insane Kojima plot, don’t buy if you are expecting a MGS clone or a third person shooter.

An absolute masterpiece. I can see why it wasn't everyone's bucket of fish but personally, I loved every second of it. The story is intriguing, the gameplay varies between relaxing and full of action and the music is some of my favorite in any game.

    Weird but good

I'm only a few hours in so it's hard to say where this will go. Death Stranding is one of those titles I bought on sale and was recommended to me by 3 different employees I asked who were aware of the sale titles. They all said some version of the same thing, which was "it's weird but good - definitely different," and they are right on the money. This title has a sort of post-apocalyptic story where you're a mail courier avoiding enemies and delivering (often strange) packages and doing your part to rebuild the world you're in. I'm not far enough into it to elaborate much more but the graphics are surely beautiful and the premise is engaging enough to keep me going for now... Definitely worth a shot for the $20 I paid!

I picked Death Stranding up on sale recently. It's an awesome game. From the opening scenes and song, it had me instantly hooked. It's unique, no question and some may find it too slow, but I enjoyed the solitary journey and pace of it all. I have almost 50 hours in so far and probably have another 50-100 hours to go, maybe? I'm going to be playing this game for a while. Kojima and team have done a great job with this one. I look forward to the sequel down the road.

The game starts slow, and it's confusing for a long time, but the world is beautiful and the story just makes me want to keep going. The game is not for everyone, but it's a whole new type of game and I have enjoyed every moment.

Overall this is a pretty good game. I feel like it got repetitive after a while but I still enjoyed the visuals and story enough to play all the way through. It's very strange at times but I think that should be expected.

It's an interesting game that has a entertaining story line. If you prefer games that avoid combat this game will likely be welcome. However if you hate games that doesn't put combat front and center then don't buy this game.

I've always been a fan of Kojima games, and this is an incredibly fresh take on social commentary that's shocking just ahead of it's time. In the wake of recent social distancing, this speaks volumes to the lengths people will go to form and create relationships with each other. The core game loop is incredibly fun for what starts out as a walking simulator and eventually progresses into an incredible exercise in world building, network management, and being a high risk amazon delivery agent. Strongly recommend for the beautiful visuals, strong storytelling, and endless yelling into the void.

The surreal and interesting story of Death Stranding is complimented by a gameplay loop unlike any other. While feeling like a sandbox, a linear story plays out like watching a TV series. My wife loves watching as much as I like playing. The music is great and most was added to our spotify. I haven't got too far into the game, but it is a slow burn, as most Kojima games are. The gameplay loop is you are a "porter" or a delivery man facing the harsh environment of a post apocalyptic America while avoiding spectral creatures dubbed "BT"s and forced into a role Norman Reedus wants no part of. If you are not a fan of Kojima, its hard to explain the level of detail and intricacy this game provides.

If you like Hideo Kojima games, you will like this one. The story is top notch and the graphics are amazing. The gameplay is a little bit slow at the beginning but it starts getting fun towards the end. I highly recommend this game for fans of Kojima's work.

Death Stranding is peak Kojima. It’s a commentary on society, life and death, and showcases Hideo Kojima’s obsession with American culture and politics. I think about this game when I’m not playing it, which is what it wants. The game is more than a “walking simulator”, although that is much of the game. It’s some of the most satisfying walking you’ll do in a game, I would argue. The game itself is beautiful to look at. It’s also super intense and nerve wracking when you run to to enemies. It’s definitely not for everyone. If you’re looking for non-stop action and to turn your brain off, this isn’t the game for you. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, tense experience, then maybe this is. If you’re not sure, I suggest waiting for a sale.

The game play is different than any game. You walk a lot to deliver items in this game. It is very slow paced. The visual and sound are good. You would enjoy it if you like “Kojima”type stories.

First things first, yes you play a UPS guy delivering packages. But the storyline goes batcrap crazy in typical Kojima fashion. Its awe inspiring. A must play even if to ride out this crazy train of a narrative.

If dont like slow gameplay, repetitive gameplay, lots of back tracking, long cutscene, heavy narrative. This is not a game you are not going to like. Other wise you will love it. Recommend first to see videos before making your purchase decision.
