Sounds good at loud volumes, muddy at low volumes

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product hoping to be a suitable outdoor speaker with great bass for my outdoor covered lanai without putting large holes in the ceiling. The reviews seemed to be great, it had a bass radiator, and at 6.5", I figured these would fit the bill. Turns out, it wasn't even close. Now, if you plan to rock the whole neighborhood block, then yes these would fit the bill. They can get extremely loud and at loud volumes, the speakers do sound pretty good. They have enough clarity to hear the vocals and there is enough bass. At lower volumes where you can have a conversation without screaming, the sound is very muddy. No matter how I adjusted the EQ, I just couldn't hear the music well. It just sounded like elevator background music. Another problem I had was the speakers are very directional. If you weren't standing where the tweeters are pointed, you couldn't hear the speakers well either. I kept for them a few days and took them back. I decided I would ceiling speakers instead.
