I purchased a pair of these on sale to use as rear surround speakers. They look good, have a great sound quality and mounted easily on the Sanos stands that I purchased at the same time. The addition of these speakers really rounded out my home theater. I have Definitive technology 9040 towers with Atmos modules and 9040 center channel speaker up front. The ProMonitors are mounted at the back. I hooked them wirelessly to my system with the Rocketfish adapter.

Using these solely for music as a second pair of stereo speakers in a phono set-up. Still in the break in period (about 3-4 hours in) and they have a little brightness much like Klipsch. They handle all the power I can throw at them, and still sound clean. Hoping they will warm up a bit, if not, I will introduce a sub into the equation. Very happy with these overall. Great value for the money.

Have been a fan of Definitive Technologies for a long time and this speaker only reinforces that. Have two of these set on small shelves as surrounds on a 5.1 system with Definitive full size fronts and center on a Denon receiver. These are bookshelf speakers so I do not have them set to push the low end frequencies but they really shine on the mids and highs which is most of what is mixed to those channels.

I recently acquired a turntable and want a simple yet a good set up. I got this at best buy as an open box. No issue at all and i've been happy with the sound quality. I pair the speaker with Polk Audio PSW series Active Subwoofer for the extra bass. I don't know if the speaker itself is enough to bring out the sound. So my recommendation is to pair the speaker with a subwoofer.

This is my first purchase with Definitive speakers. The speaker produce the best effect as front speakers and you can feel the thunder in the basement. It is in compact in size but performance is phenomenal. Every penny is worth spending on this subwoofer.

These are just the right size, can take some horsepower and have the right specs we wanted for the front R & L speakers in our home audio/video 5.1.2 set up. Once dialed into the rest of our predominately Yamaha audio system, beautiful full sound right where you want it and need it. Great sound, great performance at a great price point.

Nice speaker generates great sound for the size. I purchased open box set. So, price was excellent.

I have owned Pro Monitor 1000 speakers for a few years now. I like their compact size and sound quality. I have a small office in my house and had a 5.1 set up consisting of L/R Pro Monitor 1000, CC is the Pro Monitor 2000 and rear L/R are the Pro Monitor 800. We had a 7.0 earthquake on Nov. 30th that cause one of the 1000 speakers to fall and get damaged. Thanks to Best Buy, I was able to purchase 1ea instead of a pair. Things are getting back to normal. Also a big plus, the were on sale as well!

Lots of bass and smooth highs. Sound quality improves with break-in

I use them for surround and they are very clear. They fit nicely into the decor. I bought wall brackets but decided against using them and used a small stand which I think helps the down-reflector bass. I think I need a newer receiver to really take full advantage of their sound.

I have a 7.1 B and W system in the living room. I wanted to use preouts to put two speakers for zone 2 in the bedroom. It was between these and the Martin Logan motion 4s. I did in fact buy the logans but ended up exchanging for these. These integrate well with other speakers. The bass output from these is phenomenal. They were also on sale for $165 a piece! Overall these really are the better speaker. They sound more neutral than the Logans, they can be cranked up soo loud without distortion, and have tremendous bass output and sound for their size. They really are great! It's amazing how loud they can go without distorting. Also with these for music I feel like a sub is optional where as the Logans absolutely need one. Comparing these with my BW 685s2s in the living room, I would say they're actually comparable with the BW having a slightly better midrange. Keep in mind these cost less than half and are way smaller with a smaller midrange. Honestly I feel like they could ask more for these and getting the on sale is a crime for what you get!

I upgraded from my rear promonitor 100 to these Promonitor 1000 that now come with a built in low-frequency woofer. Very stylish design, sleek gloss black. Quality product and sound that is hard to imitate. You need to add the definitive technology promount 90 for optimal hardware mounting.

I was looking to upgrade my home theater system. These pro monitor 1000's are my 1st step. When I heard them in the Magnolia Room, I was blown away. The clarity, the bass coming from a small speaker I could not wait to set them up in my cave. I am very happy with my purchase.

Already with the 800s for the rear surrounds, I bought the 1000s to serve as the rear speakers. They provide a little more bass response than the 800s and are just as clear. My 7.2 system now sounds very immersive.

I compared this system to Bose, Jamo, and an off brand. This the clear cut favorite. I initially thought I was going Bose when I wanted a system but wanted to hear some other units. I tried an off brand from a big box department store and it verified my Bose interest. I then sound tested Jamo and was torn between Bose and Jamo. After listening to these perform under the same exact settings, song, and receiver the decision was as clear as what I was listening to; Definitive Technology Bookshelf Monitors were superior.

I have had (2) sets of these DT 1000 speakers over the years and have come to love the sound , clarity, and music that flows out of them. For the money they are a great buy.
