Seems ok but the operating system takes time

My use is limited but I decided that learning the operating system is just not worth the time. It doesn't recognize my printer but does most other Canon printers. Some apps don't work on this that do work on your android phone. Navigating through settings, etc. is not at all like working on your phone, so you're starting from scratch with a pretty substantial learning curve. My bottom line is that it just isn't worth the trouble and I am going to return it and get a unit with Windows 10. If you are willing to spend the time getting the Chrome operating system to work for your needs, it seems to be a good computer for the price.

So far a complete dissapoint!

Started out rebooting when trying to launch apps, then after doing a complete reset and system recovery it was constantly locking up just trying to log into it. The main board was replaced on site and everything seemed to be working like it should. After taking it home and giving to my son for his birthday we were setting it up for him and realized the replacement board was only 16 gig. Then tonight the WiFi wouldn't work, it was turned off and wouldn't turn on after less than a week since the main board was replaced. Even a powerwash wouldn't get it to work. My IT guy was so frustrated he picked it up and refunded me what I paid. This thing was a total headache for both of us!

Poor display

Mostly works, but locks up about 1/3 of the time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially had no problems, but the more I used the Chromebook about 1 out of 3 times it would lockup within 3 minutes of power up. I use it on a limited basis, so I just know it may lockup and require a hard reboot. If it runs for more than 3 minutes without locking up then I have had no problems.

1. Turn on your Chromebook.
2. Connect your Chromebook to Wi-Fi.
3. At the bottom right, select the time.
4. Select Settings.
5. Select Menu and then About Chrome OS.
6. Under "Google Chrome OS," you'll see which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook is using.
7. Select Check for Updates.
8. If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.

JUNK. Don't buy it!

It died after 96 days. When I tried to bring it back to return it as defective, the silly girl at the counter asked if I purchased an extended warranty. Um, no. A: Those are a scam. B: I've had this thing three months. It is not about EXTENDING the manufacturer's warranty. Needless to say, I will never purchase anything from Best Buy again, or Dell.

Celeron processor

Thanks for your review. We're sorry that you feel like your computer is not running up to speed. The specifications of this Chromebook show that it's base speed is 1.6 gigahertz but if it is required to it can run up to 2.48 ghz based on the program that's running.

Onemajor annoyance

You really have to hit it hard and even then it sometimes does not work. If the spacebar worked I'd probably give it 5 stars.

you must hope that you will not need warrant work.

You could see the pins and screws have failed due to bad workmanship. Called Dell they told me that's is not covered under warranty and they were unresponsive and rude. This is after purchase 7 Dell in the past 15 years. I know this was a cheap laptop but it supposed to carry 3 or 12 mos warranty. I trash it and bought a Lenovo. Never again will buy or recommend Dell products. You may buy this and might work for ever but if it fails under warranty you are out of luck.

Dead or comatose

It worked just fine this morning and it was fully charged, now nothing, nada. I didn't buy an extended warranty, because after all, IT'S A DELL!!! My husband and I are senior citizens and can't afford to replace this. I haven't tried my husband's yet, as I'm afraid it has suffered the same fate.

So disappointed with Dell

Something broke inside the charging point connector. A piece fell out. Dell said warranty wouldn't cover it. I'm out the money and out a chrome book. I will not buy Dell again.

A piece of junk
