Dell in my personal opinion is a good computer. I’ve used them for years and hardly any issues. This computer is fast and has what you need to game. I mainly play Squads on steam and everything after the bench mark is Max Graphic settings. Fan for gpu is a little loud but turn up the sound it will go away. Overall I’m happy with the purchase.

My girlfriend is going for her master's in an online program, and instead of buying the minimum requirement specs we chose to get her something that would carry the day. This is a steep price point, and the ability to finance it on the store credit card with 0% interest is honestly what made this possible.
ONLY COMPLAINT SO FAR:
We specifically asked the sales man on the floor if he could confirm for us if it came slotted with 2x8GB sticks of RAM or 1x16GB, as there was nothing we could find on it. We were expecting the cheaper 2x8GB answer, but were very thrilled to hear oh it's a 1x16GB stick. We popped for the extra 16GB stick to kick this thing up to 32GB. Got the laptop, went to pop the 2nd stick in, AND BOOM!
2x8GB.
PC is still great. Dell makes a solid product hear and truly optimizes their hardware. Only complaint is it comes slotted with 2x8GBs and is sold as 1x16GB.

We bought this for our daughter for Christmas to replace her very old Alienware laptop. Right away the best feature was how light it was for a gaming laptop. Obviously she is extremely happy to be able to jump back into Skyrim on ultra settings! Worth the regular price but obviously very happy to have gotten it at the black Friday price.

I still subscribe to the idea that desktop is better. But, bought this for trips. I was not disappointed at all! The laptop was mosty quiet playing Diablo III and Path of Exile. Turn off Vsync and the fans kick in. Leave the wrong web site up in the background and the fans remind you that there is a cooling system. The screen is good. The system preformed well and overall I had to rate it just short of excellent. But, I didn't spend the other thousand dollars I might have either.

Good laptop overall.
It is fast enough with adequate video, memory, and harddrive.
I do like the hinge for the top.
Got it on sale, so that was a plus.
Only has 3 USB ports - not enough.
No CD drive.
Very loud from the fans and gets very hot.

This is a good laptop overall, runs smoothly, and has only had a couple of crashes. The touchpad broke and the rubber strip across the base started peeling soon after purchase so could be made sturdier.

It's a great computer for the price. The graphics are nice. My only two complaints are that the laptop gets pretty warm on certain games and there's a lot of "bloatware" on it that they dont remove so it's not as fast out the box like a msi. Overall decent product.

Good laptop that is very powerful. I went with Dell for reliability instead of another MSI. I run this laptop a lot with 3 large monitors attached to it and it works smoothly. When it gets warm, the fans catch up fairly quick and cool it quickly. I have no complaints.

I did not buy this for gaming! I purchased it for the processor, amount of ram, storage and a decent video card. I use it for Photoshop, video converting and a lot of other demanding programs. The G7 17 7790 does it well!

Excellent specs in terms of Nvidia card and CPU. Decent screen. Good keyboard. However, fans kick in at low temps and even with 3-4 Google Chrome tabs open. So noisy it is hard to use for work. When used for gaming the fans are so loud they can be heard in the next state. May have to return this one.

Eric,
Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear about the fan noise that you're experiencing. We'd recommend that you try to update the BIOS on your computer and see if this helps with the noise:
An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Refer to update BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS on your computer. You can also follow up with our Technical Support Team here - 1-800-624-9896.

This machine does a pretty good job living up to its advertised capabilities. This review is based on my impressions after a couple of days with the unit - I may update it later if anything relevant occurs long-term.

I bought this computer back in April and the only problem I have with it is that the computer gets heated very fast. I can be simply just on google or Microsoft doc writing an essay and they throttle of the fans just don’t stop. I’ll go into the setting and change the fans to quiet but still the fans are very loud. Other than that the laptop does its job, I wouldn’t recommend this laptop for gaming use but more for school use such as an Architect or Engineer majors as it does well with running Auto Cad, Rhino, Adobe Cloud programs and Renders pretty fast.

I purchased this computer to use for work (drafting, 3D modeling and rendering), so far I’m very happy with the computer’s speed and how quickly and easily it’s able to run the drafting and modeling software.

Daughter needed a new laptop for Graduate school. She's not a gamer, but needed a powerful laptop for developing and running programs in the lab. She loves the larger screen when writing code. Loves the resolution when watching Netflix.

I got a great deal when it came out, with about a year on this product it shows no sign of slowing down and can run Ark at high at a steady 60-40 frames, would definitely recommend this laptop for a high end gaming and project rendering laptop

It's VERY Fast on starting up and in game. Only thing it shuts down my wireless internet randomly. However for a few weeks now it has not shut down the internet in a few weeks. I think it's from the updates, checking and cleaning from support assistant
