On the track to perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an older XPS model, and I read around for this one. What I liked: Compact, cool, and sleek design Powerful i7 processor Doesn't run too hot A 1 TB hard drive (can be converted to an external when you add an SSD# Preloaded with Windows 10!!! For less upgrading headaches Convertible; I've only had it for a day and I enjoy the different modes Touchscreen; I used it more than the trackpad Good battery life What I didn't like: Small display #perhaps I'll get used to it...# Speakers are sub cell phone quality #doesn't affect headphone jack or Bluetooth# Doesn't have an Ethernet plug-in nor a disk drive I followed the advice of another reviewer and upgraded the memory to an SSD. It is super easy, and you can buy one for the price difference between this model and a higher-end model with an SSD and get more memory than the model with an SSD. It pretty much makes it run faster and cooler #temperature-wise and style-wise) than those higher-end models. And with an external enclosure, the original hard drive becomes a portable.

Issues with Sound - BBY Unwilling to Assist
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop was great from the start, but after a week we noticed issues with the sound. The sound would fade in and out. Got it into Best Buy 1 day after the 30 day return period as was basically pushed off to the manufacturer. Still haven't found a resolution. When you spend $1000 on a laptop you expect a little more support. Would not purchase a laptop from BBY again

This is not worth buying
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop sucks. It's been a week or so, it doesn't boot up and the dell guys say that they hav to replace the harddisk. Awful product. I saved up to get a laptop and this is wat I get.

Defective Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this laptop as an "Open Box" item. We felt that it was safe because it was "Geek Squad Certified." However, when we began using the computer, we discovered that the WIFI adapter was defective. We had to send the machine to Dell for repair, which took about one week. What upsets us is that we paid extra for the "Geek Squad Certified" denomination. How well could this machine have been tested by Geek Squad? Now that we have had the machine repaired, we do like it and would recommend this model to others.

A waste of $2000.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer would never go/stay on line despite a private wireless being available.. After five visits to get it to work by regular tech I returned to store and bought Geek Squad .After bring it home it worked 3days and returning to the store it been sent to Kentucky . I bought it September and 2 months later have had almost no use from it. I truly wish I had my money instead of all this trouble.

This is a great low cost alternative to a Surface
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We considered purchasing a Surface Pro 3, but opted for this instead due to the cost difference. GLAD WE DID! This pc does everything a Surface does and is sufficiently small and light as to not be an issue.

Amazing laptop for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would have been a 5 star review except for the poor performance of the 5400 RPM 1tb HDD that is included as well as the remarkably noisy cooling fan. I upgraded he HDD to a 512gb SSD within about a week and the upgrade process is very easy. The ease of the upgrade and the fact that the HDD was upgradeable and not soldered in was was a huge plus. The battery life is pretty good if you are only web browsing, but if you run any kind of game or media intense program the battery life drops to about 3-4 hours depending on screen brightness. The IPS screen is fantastic and in many instances the touch screen is easier to use than the actual mouse touch pad, but that is somewhat due to the relatively poor sensitivity of the touch pad. At times it really freaks out with multi-touch when you simply place a finger on the right/left mouse buttons and also try to use a different finger to scroll. The one and only fan inside the base gets pretty loud and the unit gets mildly hot if you play a movie, stream Netflix, or play a video game. It's not a deal breaker, and honestly I'm not too surprised considering the powerful components and how relatively small the exhaust vents are, but expect to put something flat underneath the laptop in order to allow it to vent off the hot air, or you'll have to listen to the fan attempt to reach mach 5. Overall, the laptop really is amazing for what you are paying for. Full HD resolution, IPS color accuracy, multi-touch screen, 2-1 functionality, graphics capable of playing League of Legends on medium settings as well as streaming 1080p content without shuttering, and at only 3.5lbs, and less than 1" thick... it's pretty freaking awesome.
