Hardware is slow, keyboard/tablet mode problem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks like this PC clearly had a problem and that's why someone returned it and now I am the sucker holding the bag. Also, update to Windows 10 is not happening even though I have the latest version of 8.1 installed. I want to return it.

It died on me within 4 weeks of purchase.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To spend $1200 to load up a computer and then equipment fails in4 weeks you have to wonder about the way it was built. Returned it for a Lenovo and kudos to Best Buy for the assist.

Overall, a Great Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop wasn't the sturdiest thing I've ever held, but considering the laptop is a touch screen, with the ability to fold back the screen, I imagined it would have a little bend to it. However, the cosmetic appeal is not what makes a laptop anyway. The system ran very fast right out of the box. Setup was simple, as it is with most computers. I did not have to activate anything out of the box in order to get the touch screen to work; I could swap between the touch screen or just using the mouse/keyboard at any time, no buttons to hit or switch on/off. I will have to say, it was the first laptop I have used where you could use it like a tablet; that feature was very cool. The system itself is a little more beefed up than your cheaper ($300-$400) laptops and it runs very smoothly. The only thing I dislike about the new laptops, is the lack of a CD drive. If you don't have a Wi-Fi connection and want a program installed, you'll either need to...get a Wi-Fi connection or buy an external optical drive, which could be a pain to carrying out with you. Either way, great little machine!

This machine is stellar
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been researching machines from Toshiba, Dell, Lenovo and HP. My minimum requirements have been 13-15.6" display, decent battery life, 2 in 1 functionality, 8 GB of RAM (min) and either an i5 or i7 dual core. Hard drive tech wasn't so important as I was planning to install my own SSD from the start. Tried a Thinkpad Yoga 14 and the the Windows 10 upgrade was a disaster. There's a reason that no stores carry a Win 10 preloaded Lenovo computer. They simply are not ready. Lenovo also has serious issues with display light-bleed and system foundational drivers. It's really too bad because the Thinkpad design has a lot to offer. After going back to Best Buy, I decided on the Inspiron 7000 13.3. My config is the i7, 8 GB, 1 TB with Windows 10 preloaded. The sales person was very helpful in choosing this model based on my list of wants & needs. It has minimal bloatware, barely any to be honest, all the installed Dell apps that assist in configuring your system worked like a charm and IMHO, are designed really well. The 1920 x1080 display is solid with virtually no light-bleed, very crisp and good color rendition for the price. The brightness range is wide with lots of gain when you need it. I upgraded to SSD myself and that process was simple and made a huge difference in system performance. It now feels like a machine costing twice the price, in operation. The keyboard, the button placement, the quiet operation and smooth tablet action were also, all unexpected pleasures. This system is compact, lightweight, solidly built and exudes much quality for the price. I am simply shocked at how well this package is put together for a sub-$800 machine. I highly recommend this laptop. It's stellar.

So good, I bought another one.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like the subject reads - I was very impressed with the build/quality from the first one, I bought a second one two days later! The first one was for my wife. She just took on an extra (part time) position at our church and needed a new laptop for some of the duties. I'm in IT so I usually try to find this best bang for the buck and at 704.00 dollars as an "excellent" open box deal with a full warranty - it can't be beat. Dual core i7 (while not a quad cord) is plenty fast enough for what we would ever need. I do get a kick out of those that try to complain about the dual/quad core and they do nothing, I'm sure, to need that processing power. But I guess some people just HAVE to find something to complain about. Anywho - if you're lucky enough to snag an open box in excellent condition...do it. It's flawless and way cheaper. You will not be disappointed in this 2 in 1.

Great 2-in-1 with a slow hard drive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this 2-in-1 knowing full well that I would be upgrading to a SSD before even turning it on for the first time. I am temporarily using a spare 128gb because a 5400rpm hard drive is too slow. I don't know why Dell would chose to put a platter drive in a $900 laptop. It would be far more fast and valuable of a system with a SSD, even a 128-256gb one.

Super computer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a very similar Dell - went from an i5 to this i7 - and I love it so far! VERY fast, I definitely notice a difference in processing tasks such as backups/page loads/etc. I use it mostly as a 'desktop' (I have a 27" Acer monitor connected to it), and so far everything has either met/exceeded my expectations. All the positive reviews on here are obviously well-warranted. Very good price to quality value, I'm very confident you'll enjoy this laptop if/when you purchase :-)

Please do your research
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read reviews shopped around and landed on this Dell. I was excited to get it home on Friday evening and try it out after moving from a Mac. I had the computer for maybe two hours when the screen wouldn't turn on. Maybe growing pains? Okay just restarted it. After this happening four times in not even two days I was a little upset. That's when the WiFi decided to stop. Apparently I didn't have the appropriate software, after two and a half hours with Dell on the phone I was hung up on and nothing was resolved. I returned the computer to best buy and thought maybe it's a lemon let's try again. This was Sunday. As of Monday. The new computer has lost WiFi and the screen has quit out. Please be aware that I am not asking a lot of this computer, excel and internet usage. Highly highly disappointed.

Dell 2-1 really great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this 2 in 1 - laptop or tablet. Both work really well. Just getting used to Windows 10, though. Seems like the laptop is slow to start when I expected it to run like a racehorse. Other than that, this combination made by Dell for Best Buy is a good buy and meets all my needs for a laptop and a tablet. Couldn't have made a better choice.

Network Card Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are problems with this laptop. I purchased it, and on day 21 could no longer get a WiFi connection. The computer didn't recognize any WiFi networks. I researched and found out this can be an issue with this laptop. I reloaded the driver and it has been working for a couple of days; however, based upon what others have said, it will probably happen again. I have read that with the network cards in some of these laptops are bad. It is very disappointing. I have purchased numerous laptops in the past and have never had one fail so quickly. This is also the first time I purchased a Dell.

Has WIFI problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice computer EXCEPT WIFI will cutout and will not reconnect unless you restart computer. Dell support has no clue how to fix it (spent 2 hours with them). I stuck a $10 USB WIFI chip in and works ok with that, but really no excuse for a new computer to have such obvious hardware problems. Other reviewers have had same problem...
