My thoughts on Dell g3
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best laptop I have owned. I love playing Sims 4. Laptop runs smooth I have all game packs, expansions and most stuff packs. My only complaint is that battery dies fast so keep charger near by.

Dell - G3 15.6" Gaming Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very impressed with the speed and performance of this Dell G3 Gaming Laptop. It has a big screen, the keyboard seems to be very quiet and resistant. I didn't like the size of the AC Adapter, it's heavy and huge, but I guess it's necessary.

Great laptop for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used the laptop for gaming and 3D printing and modeling. It was a nice laptop for the price. Very nice blue trim and lighting. It was able to handle PC gaming and 3D printing. It was a little bit slower for 3D modeling so I would recommend an i7 processor. Unfortunately this year, the hinge cracked and was unable to stay in position and was unable to be fixed by insurance.

Perfect balance of price & performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an overall great gaming laptop. The refreshed design for the G3 series is very welcome. Last years G3 kind of had an old school, boxy feel to it. This new G3 feels and looks a bit more modern. In fact, it looks and feels lighter and thinner than I expected from the photos of it. When you factor in the specs (i5, 1660TI, 512gb of memory) it is easily worth the price. There is no shortage of ports. HDMI, USB-C, three USB (one 3.1 & two 2.0) and a SD card reader. Surprisingly, there are many pricier laptops on the market these days that don't even provide all of these ports. The keyboard feels great to me. However, some gamers might find it soft and lacking in feedback. Not an issue for me personally. The blue back lighting on the keyboard looks awesome! The screen is full HD (not 4K) and looks great for gaming and for most other applications. Although if you are into photo or video editing you may want to look for something with a bit better of a screen. On the flip side, the processor on this laptop works like a charm and will be more than powerful enough if you do use it for editing. When I have had the fan kick on, it has a less pronounced sound to it from what I am used to. More of a low level hum. I don't find it to be overly loud at all. As for the real reason you buy this laptop, gaming, this is an excellent choice. Everyone wants the latest & greatest. So it stands to reason every gamer would love a top spec machine with a 2080 card, i9, 32gb ram, and so on. Reality is, most of us can't afford such a machine. So when you try to strike a good balance I think the G3 is where you land. Nvidia 1660TI will easily handle any game you toss at it and the i5 is really all you need for gaming. It does only come with 8gb RAM but that is easily (and affordably) upgraded. The 512gb of solid state memory is very, very fast. In fact I have another Dell from a couple of years ago that is technically a higher end machine with a SSD and it is not as fast as the G3. There is also an easily accessible spot to ad a 2.5 inch HD of your choice. I have been playing Fortnight and have been impressed with how well it handles it. I have no doubt it will handle my other games just as well. The "G" boost function is handy. Although I am still on the fence as to how much it is really boosting performance. Couple of things worth mentioning. The battery life is okay, but not spectacular. It is really best to have it plugged in while gaming not only because of the battery life, but the fact that it helps in overall performance when gaming to have it plugged in. Personally, I think this is how you should use any laptop when gaming but it still is worth mentioning. Also, I know some people don't care for center hinged screens. To be honest, I used to be one of those people. But the center hinge on the G3 is wide enough to supply enough support. Being that it is a plastic laptop you will still find a little screen flex but nothing to worry about. All in all I can't say enough good things about the G3. There is no such thing as a perfect laptop. But the few negatives I mentioned are really minor and more nitpicking than anything. It comes right out of the box with everything you need to do some high end gaming. Great performance for a great price!

Superior gaming experience with 1660ti Max-Q
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as "Open Box", and I could not be more happier. This machine with 1660ti Max-Q design provides superior GFX performance, much better than more modern machines from 2020/2021. Right on!

Good but not the best design.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop for what you pay the fans are not super loud and even though the speakers are under the laptop I still felt they sounded decent. I just can't get over how like on other reviewers it says that the vents are setup to towards the screen. This makes the screen get pretty hot. I don't recommend that design since I don't play games for short periods of time.

Thanks for your feedback. You can try to see if updating the BIOS on your computer helps with the fan noise that you're experiencing:
An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Refer to update BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS on your computer. You can also follow up with our Technical Support Team here - 1-800-624-9896.

Great buy so far!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought for my 12 year old who has been complaining about not enough FPS for gaming on his old one. Now he gets over 100 on medium settings with this good processor and greet media card. He is happy and I'm static that I don't have to hear complaining anymore. Better that I got on sale for $699! Only complaint is that the cooling fans are very loud.

Good price for mobile gaming
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great gaming laptop for when your not at your main rig. This has a great battery for having a dedicated GPU in it. The price point was good for what you get. I can play all the games that I have from medium to high dependent on the game requirements. I upgraded the memory and the Wireless NIC to a AX200, which helped with the overall performance. I am certain that if you watch a good YouTube video you can do the upgrades I did. I am an IT professional and I can say that this was a great buy and a novice could upgrade these parts with patience and watching a good instructional video on how to do it.
