Dell Customer Service Ruined Product

When I came across a problem (that ended up being a simple fix) I decided to call Dell and they are the rudest people ever. Bestbuy is awesome but dont buy Dell products! Stick with HP, etc.

Annoying
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I expect to do some updates when starting with a new computer but I was unable to use my WiFi until I updated and the graphics card was incompatible without updating. 2 hours later, I was able to actually use the system. Annoying to say the least.

Nice hardware - bunch of bloatware

Keeps Freezing

It keeps running up to 100% on the CPU and then freezing the screen. It happens frequently and is a big pain when i am in the middle of a meeting and it freezes. The only fix is to close the computer screen down, wait and then open it again, then restart everything.

We're sorry that your computer is running at 100% and that your screen is freezing. You may want to diagnose the freezes by following these steps:
1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Preboot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below:
a) Start the computer.
b) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every one second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.)
c) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter.
d) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access.
e) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete step 3 to see if you are able to resolve the lockups or freezing.
3. Check for Malware. Malware (Virus, Spyware, etc.) can definitely cause a Windows system to lock up or appear to hang. To check for malware on your system and to ensure that your computer is up to date on security software, visit Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2wWP1zI.

Just say no
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't buy it - it overheats after an hour of game playing. Dell - don't respond with tips, we already did what you said in posts with this same problem. The cooling fans just don't work right on this laptop...time for a redesign. Had it for 3 days, after 1 hour of game playing it gets so hot you can barely touch it. Thinking about returning and going with a different brand.

looks good but one thing is missing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this computer in the 33016 store about 2 hours ago and this are the note so far: status: "open box" condition: "satisfactory" missing accessories:"NO MISSING ACCESORIES"// half of the charger was in...missing the cable that goes in the electrical outlet, I'm lucky I got one borrow but I have to go and ask for it at the store. comments: "Minor Scratches/Marks"//one minor scratch in the bottom so you can see it until you flip the laptop...main reason why I buy it....this scratch gave a really good discount manufacturer warranty: I will have to check with Dell to see how many month I have left So far a havent done anything but set it up and download/update the apps. the netflix gave me an error twice so I uninstall/install and is now working. Open the app store and it start downloading the updates and leave it for about an hour but all of the sudden I heard the fan - it was subtle yet it was a quiet room so you could notice the little noise, I was concern because I barely touch the laptop, check the task manager and few resources were in used but close to the screen was less than warm. Monitor//read so many rewiew about it, it looks good byt not great, a little bit dark for me. I search if I was a lucky one but no....Control Panel - device manager - panel - details - hardware ids(dropbox) and the result was MONITOR/LGD053F :( UPDATE WITH THE FAN.....3 TIMES NOW! ok now is embarrassing, im next to a macbook doing the same thing JUST USING BROWSER but mine is the only one with noise and a little bit warm close to the screen but no in the keyboard. After 2 hours, try to put the computer with a little multitasking: Netflix and youtube on, downloading and installing MySQL and Photoshop CC it went from 7-9% to 40-45% CPU usage + fan noise(no subtle any more), lift the computer about an inch and noise went down and usage too, I thought this my have help but it happened later with a of 45% but always return to 20% after a few seconds. let me know if this is normal Nice keyboard, no problem with the blue color...I barely see the keys while I type so doesn't bother me at all. I will give another update if I find anything new. +good looks +nice keyboard +good sound for a laptop +fast +cheap for all the discounts -missing cable for charger -fan noise -heavy -dark screen
