A: Hey Matt. This laptop can do a much better job than that as I run World of Warcraft on its highest possible settings with no hiccups at all. Make sure the power option is set to performance (click on the battery icon on the system tray that is on the bottom right corner of the screen) and also make sure your laptop is plugged in. I find that it runs best when plugged in as that is when it utilizes its full power. It's a great laptop for the price. Give it another shot! Happy gaming!
A: The only way I was able to find out if I had this panel was to actual verify through downloading Custom Resolution Utility (CRU). Thus far I am unable to determine whether there's a specific serial code on the box that gives this information away without having to verify internally.
A: Ram, hard drives are upgradeable but not the graphics caed. However, it does have a thunderbolt 3 port so in the future you could use an external graphics card enclosure.
Q: I need a good laptop for gaming but for school work too.
A: I have had my G7 for a couple of weeks now and it performs very well. I don't do gaming but I do video editing and it is much faster than my 3 year old system. With the high end i7 processor and the GTX 1060 graphics card it should work well for gaming and school work.
A: There is one port on the right-hand side that is compatible with both mic and headset jacks.
Q: would you recommend this for 4k video editing on multiple projects?
A: I would not unless you're going with the 4k display. The colors are not the best on this and its pretty dim even at max brightness.
Q: Which is the maximum RAM capacity?
A: I believe it's 32 GB. It has two 8 GB sticks so you'd have to remove those to upgrade. The good thing is there is only one screw on the bottom that needs to be removed to access the internal parts.
Q: Does this laptop SSD booted and can i upgrade it with SSD or add more ram?
A: Yes it is easy if you are used to it 1 screws holds back on Be careful taking back off and the M2 SSD is right there So is the HD I replaced both (with larger) M2 SSD and a data SSD in place of the SSD
