I bought this for $100 deal and it's worked out great. It's a great little machine for surfing the web and social media. For me it's better than an iPad since I can actually do some useful work too. It's very light and battery lasts long. I am glad I read all of the reviews before buying. After first Windows update, I was down to <5GB of free storage. I was able to compress Windows 10 more and delete some Dell bloatware to get over 10GB free. That's really the only downside to this product with 32GB hard drive. If you get down to <2-3GB free space it could start causing issues some folks were experiencing.

This is a little slow, but for the price I paid it's a great lightweight laptop that does everything I need it to do when I am not in front of my desktop. I was able to update to Windows 10 Anniversary Update by first downloading on my desktop to a USB drive.

Great for emails and you tube videos. Faster than I thought but slows down sometimes loading pages. Screen not as bright as I'd like. Good for what I need it for and super light.

This little laptop is good enough for basics. However, it only comes with 32Gb storage and the OEM Pre-install uses 27 of them. The very first thing you should do, before even leaving the store, is buy the biggest Micro SD card you can to install... I didn't do this and was out of space in less than a day...just installing software that I have to have.

Laptop that is good to go

Tablet or Laptop…tablets are fun but not good for typing. Laptops are practical, but are too big to take along for business or travel. The Dell Inspiron 11.6” laptop is a good compromise. It is very lightweight yet the screen is big and sharp enough to be read without strain. The keyboard is firm and of good size for typing. It is very similar in concept to the Lenovo 100s, but offers three advantages: one of the two USB ports is a 3.0, the touchpad offers gestures such as two-finger scrolling and zoom, and the keyboard is not “springy”. None of these laptops offer a touch-screen, which is not really necessary since they have touchpads. Screen quality is clear and has a better-looking matte resolution than I was expecting. Some reviewers are being very harsh in saying this laptop is “slow”. I don’t know what they are attempting to do with this low-cost laptop, but I find it quite speedy and very suitable for any surfing, email, and writing I have attempted, including having multiple windows open. The connections to wireless seem fine, and Windows 10 is built-in and is a great improvement over Windows 8. It would be best to plan to add a microSD card, since only 8.6 GB of space is left over once updates and software is installed. Users may use the cloud for storage (included) but an expansion card is inexpensive and easy to add. Battery life is very good…it starts at 9 hours and 45 minutes, but will likely be less with real use. It still is very long compared to many other laptops. There are some issues that you have to consider. First, Microsoft Office 365 is NOT included, despite Best Buy’s ads that infer that it is. It is only a 30-day trial that Is included. (note: I’ve argued with both Best Buy and Dell, but neither will make good on providing this software.) If you need that, it will add about $50 to your purchase or you might want to look at other laptops. Those enrolled in school may have an option to add Microsoft Office online at no charge, from having a campus email. Second, Microsoft Edge will not let you download Firefox: you must install Google Chrome, then download Firefox from there. Third, the included “Outook” email doesn’t play nice with all email providers, you can’t adjust it to your preferences. Fourth, the shiny plastic case shows smudges and fingerprints much too easily. The plastic doesn’t feel as substantial as some competitive laptops. Fifth, the one year warranty is for parts only, not labor. However, buying an extended warranty is almost the cost of the unit. So there is no good recourse if anything goes wrong. This laptop is designed as a “to go” laptop. Take it along to class or for business, or on a vacation. It is not likely to be satisfying for heavy gaming, multi-tasking, or heavy photo editing needs. You have a home computer for that. This takes up about the same space as a 10” tablet with a keyboard case, and may even be sleeker, yet offers more utility. This is exactly what I was looking for and I am satisfied this will do what I want and need when I am away from home.

My son is developmentally delayed and is able to use the computer with ease. It has choices for voice and magnification. It is small enough for him to carry between rooms and he hooks it up in our car.

My wife wanted a small laptop for surfing the web for products and social media. She loves this product. At a special $95 price, you cannot beat that value. Friends are impressed with versatility of product, and cannot believe the price that we paid.

This netbook is a little underpowered but it gets the job done. I wish the processor and storage were faster and would like a little more RAM. I also wish the laptop had a battery indicator for charging. Overall it's not too bad considering the price.
