Santa got this for my 7 year old. It's perfect and with Windows 10 I get notifications about all my son's activity and can set limits on screen time and allowable Web sites.

Just wanted to added my two cents to the mix. I bought this laptop for a basically streaming and playing movies on my 50" Plasma. So far so good, unfortunately when I purchased there were only 1 review and it didn't make my decision. I was a little hesitate at first, since there isn't much info on the spec nor at Dell website. So, I did some digging, I wanted to know if I could install a SD card, and yes you can. So, that was awesome with Updated Win 10, you can add your SD card (I bought one for $20 - 64gb SDxc turbo and it works great) So, as one of the reviews barked at the 32gb HD that really with Win 10 update and some basic programs I have about 4gb left so that's when that SD card slot comes in handy. Now, I have two HD drives, and the good news looks like when you upgrade to Win 10 Sp 1 or 2, it will eliminate about 9gb after a month of running to make sure you are happy with 10 and I'm liking it so far. I also wanted to know if I could replace the 2gb Ram in this machine. Looks like you can. This motherboard can handle up to 8gb - one dimm slot another plus and another Huge plus was: 3.0 USB (only one) and one 2.0 USB slot, HDMI - regular size not mini or micro - very cool. The Screen is pretty good for being 11.4" - sure its not the best much like higher price laptops but hey, you're getting a laptop for $199 and its not glossy screen - it's a matte finish. I got a discount when I purchased mine and its even a better deal if you can snag one at that price. Keyboard is a bit small, I think they say full Keyboard but its slightly smaller and I have small fingers and I'm finding it small but I'll get used to it. Win 10 is good. The laptop is light and easy to use, the color is not my cup of tea - royal blue. I wish I got the option for the white one and heck, make it in darn black like the rest. Gees whez...!!! If I had to complain, I would say not too much except what I noted above. 32gb HD is a bit small since you are running Win 10, if they offered it as 64gb would be so much better. After adding some programs, the HD drive will fill up pretty quick like one reviewer mentioned and cried about. I think this is perfect for students, girlfriends, and for light causal workers. I wouldn't use this as a work horse but I presume you would know that before purchasing this inexpensive laptop. Kudos to Dell and Best Buy for offering a small complete package. Enjoy.

Overall, I am able to complete what I need on this laptop. I just don't like the constant pop ups and the lag in its performance. You get what you pay for.

I bought this as a back up for my grandson's school. and found that I use it more than them!

Just needed something so my kids could logon and do school work. Does not have all the bells and whistles but does the job. They can access websites and write papers.

He loves it. Durable computer/tablet all in one. Fast, and looks great. No issues so far

I purchased this small laptop for my grandson so he could do some school homework assignments online. He loves the Dell computer and hasn't had a problem so far.

The produce is slower compared to my solid state laptop. I still think it is a good value for the price.

No space, slow, and won't connect to my large external hard drives.

my son's chromebook had fizzled out, I thought id try the "windows version" to see if he liked it better....he does! AND its a Dell, how could I go wrong??

Needed a laptop for wife's school. Chose dell for reliability and quality. It works very well, and is fully compatable with kids school functions as well.

This laptop works great for my 13 yo daughter. She loves the blue color and since she isn't a gamer or downloading the small amount of memory is perfect.

incredibly low hard drive space, not much room for reviewing photos after camera download on vacation

two days after purchase there was an update from Microsoft and there wasnt even enough memory on hardrive to download it. I had to go back and get a flash drive to have room for it. DO NO buy this , for $50 MORE YOU CAN GET A REAL LAPTOP

Bought for kids to use to watch Netflix and surf the web. Works ok runs a little slow but isn't bad for child use and decent for the price

I ended up returning the laptop after one day. It was too slow and crashed immediately. Stay way.

An excellent small laptop with latest WiFi-ac offers fantastic speed for surfing the web, email and skype.

Bought the computer and 2 days of having it the charging port messed up. Took it back and they gave me a new one! Thank you best buy!!!

This laptop was a birthday gift for my son to use for middle school work and homework. He loves it!!! No Issues, easy set up, and works perfectly.

It is fine for the simplest of tasks. It works well for internet and Microsoft Office. It struggles a bit with video presentations.
