Usually I like dell laptop computers and have never had an issue with there capabilities or have I had problems with the device not being user friendly as I am not the most technology savvy person to begin with. Over all good experiences and overall satisfaction with dell! Until this new laptop I had gotten was an experience I m not sure what happened other than what I know. Being! After the first hour is use trying to set the computer up back at my hotel. Using the hotels non secure network . I Attempted to set up my extra perks to buying a new laptop. Like my webroot internet security with anti virus and free Mcfee subscription. After getting these things set up and my laptop kind of close to being done with setting up things to the best of my not so great abilities may I add was just going to contact Best Buy the following day and ask for assistance setting things up to make sure I did things right and if I'm secure and I did everything right or if I was missing anything. The computer crashed before I could finish and contact anyone for assistance the computer completely broke down and the whole hard drive was erased of any kind of information. I closing an operating system and it made really loud noises and some bs came on the screen. Took it to the geek squad and they had no idea how to do it without doing some serious work. So lucky I was able to return the device. My funds were returned.

Broken screen connector/joint from opening and closing the laptop. Instead of turning on normally when opening the laptop, it almost always has to reboot as if it went through a manual shut down. I was recently locked out of my laptop entirely when it asked for a BitLocker code I never set up. I feel like I was pressured into this purchase and will be visiting to exchange it.

Thanks for your review and we're sorry that your computer is not performing as well as you hoped it would. If you'd like to update what your computer does when you close the lid on your computer you can follow these steps:
1. Click the Windows 10 Start Button to reveal the Cortana search box. For some, this will be visible by default.
2. Type Power and Sleep Settings.
3. Under the Best Match option you’ll see Power & Sleep Settings appear. Click this option to go directly to the needed menu.
4. Under the Related settings section, click on Additional power settings.
5. On the left-hand side of the Power Options screen, you’ll see an option that says Choose what closing the lid does. Click it.
6. From there, select the behavior you’d like your PC to use when closing the lid. In the drop down menu, select the action you’d prefer: Do Nothing, Sleep, Hibernate, and Shut down.
7. Click Save changes to finalize your selection and apply the changes.
