    Sure it's $400 on sale, but let me tell you why. It's a 12th gen intel processor, which is at the time of writing two years old and soon three years. The laptop having zero USB-C ports shows another thing: this is a bunch of old, cheap parts inside of a cheap plastic chassis. It had a small battery, despite having space for a larger one, and the plastic chassis *will* break with use, likely around the hinge. When full aluminum laptops with modern processors (and 16GB of RAM) can be had for only $200 more, I think they are far better options. They will last you far longer, saving money in the long term.

    A good all-around laptop

    This is a great machine for my daughter's schoolwork, with a nice side of gaming as well. The touchpad is a little wonky, but we use a wireless mouse with it and it works well.

    It does not work does not accept my password and got stuck in an infinite Loop and NOW I hope I can use warranty to get the exact same model since I bought it at discounted price if Not I just have a Brick of a Computer that does not work for a Software Windows 11 Problem.

    Cheap Hinges Will Break

    I Regretted Buying DELL Laptop. Do not buy Dell unless you want a headach and hassles. Last year my laptop started making creaking sounds, which puzzled me. I didn’t see anything visible and just brushed it off. Today the right hing which attached the screen to the keyboard broke and shattered into small pieces. I Googled the issues and found that this is a very common manufacturer defects with all Dell laptops which the company refuses to address.

    Terrible customer Service Experience Beware

    I have been a loyal customer of this brand since 2005 when i purchased my first computer for college. Fasforward to dosens of laptops, desktops, TV’s etc. i purchased a laptop and webcam on friday and received an email to pick up in location it was ready. On the receipts a service is offered from and center to “change pickup location 1 hour available for pickup” unless you want to be double charged for the items you already paid for and have yet to pick up from any location dont do it! I called customer service they were unclear misinformed and not helpful i called and spone to 3 people two separate times and a supervisor. All seemed to be focused on the credit card not being approved and declined when in reality it was paid for and approved or i wouldnt have received a email explaining the items were available for pickup. Instead of simply doing an exchange of the product from one store into the new pickup store to modify inventory they want to charge you for the items a second time and then make you wait 7-10 business days to receive a credit back. I have worked in corporare retail for nearly 20 years and ran entire districts for many large brands. This is avoidable terrible customer service and completely obsurd considering this service was being offered as a convenience to customers on the digitsl receipt. There are hundreds of options to purchase electronics in 2024 and competitive prices. I have lost my loyalty to bestbuy im taking my business elsewhere and you all should thing twice as well. This is shameful for a brand who has refeived so much praise for its custoemr service and business agility in recent years. Unbelievably disheartened Bestbuy

    The laptop comes factory preset to S mode. This bars you from installing any apps that are not downloaded through the Microsoft store. Microsoft charges money for apps that are free online and there is no way to install chrome in s mode so you’re required to use Edge (ugh). The rep from Microsoft support could not fix the problem. Do not buy this laptop.

      Windows 10/11 in S mode is designed for security and performance, exclusively running apps from the Microsoft Store. If you want to install an app that isn't available in the Microsoft Store, you'll need to switch out of S mode. Switching out of S mode is one-way. If you make the switch, you won't be able to go back to Windows 10/11 in S mode.

      Below I have provided a few steps to help you :
      1. On your PC running Windows 10/11 in S mode, open Settings > Update & Security > Activation.
      2. In the Switch to Windows 10/11 Home or Switch to Windows 10/11 Pro section, select Go to the Store. (If you also see an "Upgrade your edition of Windows" section, be careful not to click the "Go to the Store" link that appears there.)
      3. On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store, select the Get button. After you see a confirmation message on the page, you'll be able to install apps from outside the Microsoft Store.

    Guys this laptop is horrible build quality I regret getting this thing because of the poor build quality hinges they break in 2 months and the repair cost was $185 (Don't get this!!)

    I bought a laptop very similar to this (a dell inspiron with similar specs) back in 2021, and here’s my experience. It was terrible. For office use and web browsing its fine. But if you want to do anything more, especially playing any games, DO NOT BUY THIS. Please instead buy a gaming laptop priced around the same. It can also do office work and web browsing, AND let you play games, have a bunch of tabs open, and generally be snappier after a while. This item’s value is terrible, you can easily find a better deal on a different model from a different company. The quality of this laptop is iffy, recently the trackpad started to remove its top layer making it feel really weird, and when i hold it from one corner the rest of the laptop bends.
