Purchased it on November 27,2023 not even a year later the frame on the screen and hinges starts to break apart. Can’t even lift the screen. Laptop never dropped kept in mint condition. Internal specs are good. For the money I’ve definitely had better quality.

It has a decent run speed for the price. One main complaint that I have though is that the Chrome Web store, which is the only app store that you can use on this laptop, has significantly less apps.

This is a very cheap and no durable laptop for the price that I spent. I take good care of my laptops as usually they last me multiple years. I bought this laptop January 2024 and it’s already broken. Therefore, it was still covered under warranty, but what broke is not covered. I will upload photos as the screen fell apart? This all happened when I close my laptop and re-opened it. Never dropped it or anything of that nature so not sure how this can happen.

I recently purchased the Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 laptop with an Intel Core i7 processor, and overall, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase. Here are my thoughts after using it for a few weeks:
Design and Build Quality
The laptop has a sleek, modern design with a sturdy aluminum chassis that feels premium. The 360-degree hinge is a great feature, allowing me to easily switch between laptop, tent, stand, and tablet modes. It’s perfect for both work and entertainment.
Display
The 14-inch Full HD touchscreen display is vibrant and sharp, with excellent color accuracy. The touch response is smooth, making it a joy to use in tablet mode. The narrow bezels enhance the viewing experience, whether I'm watching videos, browsing the web, or working on creative projects.
Performance
Performance is one of the strong points of this laptop. The Intel Core i7 processor, combined with 16GB of RAM and a fast SSD, handles multitasking and demanding applications effortlessly. I’ve been able to run multiple programs simultaneously without any lag, and it handles photo and video editing tasks smoothly. The integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics are also sufficient for casual gaming and multimedia tasks.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard is comfortable and responsive, with good key travel and backlighting for typing in low-light conditions. The touchpad is spacious and responsive, supporting multi-touch gestures that enhance productivity.
Connectivity
The laptop offers a good selection of ports, including USB Type-A, USB Type-C with Power Delivery and DisplayPort, HDMI, a MicroSD card reader, and a headphone/microphone combo jack. This variety provides ample connectivity options for my peripherals and external displays.
Battery Life
Battery life is decent, lasting around 8-10 hours on a single charge, depending on the workload. This is adequate for a full day of work or study without needing to recharge frequently.
Audio
The speakers deliver clear and loud audio, enhanced by Waves MaxxAudio Pro. While not exceptional, the sound quality is good enough for a laptop of this size and price range.
Overall
I’m very happy with my Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 laptop. It offers a great balance of performance, design, and versatility, making it suitable for a wide range of tasks. While it might be a bit pricey compared to other budget options, the features and performance justify the cost. I highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a reliable and versatile device.

Let's get started with an obligatory "It's not perfect."
This computer is made of plastic, it has a matte screen, no backlit keyboard, and uses a proprietary barrel connector for charging.
At a distance, it looks sleek and professional. Up close, you realize it looks and feels like plastic... because it is.
However, I was able to purchase this laptop for $150 with a year of protection after a sale and some trade ins, and what I got was a powerful 6 core, 12 thread AMD Ryzen 7000 processor with outstanding battery life and a touch screen display. It even comes with a full-size SD card slot.
To put into perspective how well these components work together, I am able to use this laptop for an entire day of school and work, with about 2 hours of Jurassic World Evolution at 60FPS Medium with a single charge. Yes, it can play games at a respectable level on the battery and still get through the day.
I'm going to cover it in stickers to hide the plastic and get a silicone keyboard cover to fix the unapologetically cheap-feeling keys, and you can also get an adaptor for the barrel connector so you can use a USB-C charger instead of the bulky proprietary one.
Don't overpay for this laptop.
If you can find it on sale, great. If you can trade in for an additional discount, even better. Again, I got mine for $150 with a year of protection. It is unbeatable for that.

Great no-frills laptop with upscale features where it counts.
1)touch screen
2)15 inch IPS display
3) i5 4.5 ghz processor
4) decent battery life
The 8gb ram and 256gb SSD are nothing special, but plenty for a lot of people and relatively inexpensive to upgrade yourself.
No backlit keyboard, but really don't place any importance or usefulness with that.

This laptop is made for productivity and is fast for what is wanted from it. Gaming on this device isn’t very good and it isn’t meant for that but for completing bills, doing paperwork, entertainment, and opening apps is all very efficient and quick. The 8GB of RAM make this laptop multitask well and is a solid laptop to have. The display is big but isn’t anything special just a standard LCD display but it does have touch screen which is good.

We purchase this model (and similar ones) for our restaurant operations reporting. The restaurant is a tough environment and we don’t like to risk expensive laptops where they are often spilled on, dropped, broken or stolen. I took away a star because it does feel a little flimsy but the core i5 is plenty for our basic needs. We’ve installed these models in over 100 installs for years and rarely have a problem. For the price, it’s a really great value, especially with the touch screen.

I have worked in IT for 20 years. When folks come to me needing a laptop, for most people I recommend any Chromebook that has what they want and meets their budget. It's really all the computer most people need. College students and small business owners need more than a Chromebook, and this would be my recommendation for them. This laptop should have all the processing power, storage, etc., needed for any average computer user.
Downsides are minimal given the price. The keyboard is not backlit, but it is reasonably comfortable to type on. The screen isn't amazingly colorful or bright, but it is adequate. There are no USB-C or Thunderbolt ports. There is no biometric authentication (no fingerprint or Windows Hello camera). The webcam is 720P and acceptable. The HDMI port only allows 1080P output - fine.
Battery life is acceptable - probably ~5 hours of light usage. Before Apple Silicon that would have been a bigger deal than it is today.
The laptop is reasonably sturdy and well-built. I think it would easily survive a typical 4-year college career.
I love the full-size SD card slot. I use SD cards often - both microSD with an adapter, and full size SD cards, so having a slot built in to the laptop is a big deal, and is honestly a big reason why I bought this laptop.
I love the touch screen too. I will never understand why Apple refuses to put touch on their laptops. I don't use touch all the time, but it is nice to have.
In a world where the M1 MacBook Air is often on sale for $750, I would not pay the full $600 for this laptop. Get the MacBook Air instead. But if you can get it on sale, I paid $350, it's a great bargain. And like I said, it's probably all the laptop you need.
