    Had issues right out of the box. Kept shutting down on its own. After several attempts of trying to get it registered, I decided to return it. Ended up getting a iMac instead.

      1. On the laptop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports".
      2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
      3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
      4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.

    Haven’t had for a year and hardly use it and I had to take it in for a repair. Thank God it was still under warranty so I didn’t have to pay for anything. Have had problems with just simply logging on.

    It is the worst laptop I have ever bought

    First of all, I must say that the laptop was a disaster, the second day I bought it, it no longer worked, it started to freeze and in the end only the blue screen remained. I would NOT recommend it to anyone

    Black screen after 5 days

    It worked for only 5 days until the screen went black. I had to returned it . I won't buy a Dell again. Few years ago I had another Dell and after a year and few months the same happen , the screen went black.

If needed in the future, we have provided steps below that may help with fixing your black screen. The details include how to perform a hard reset along with expelling and lingering power.

      1. Disconnect all external devices or peripherals (such as a printer, Bluetooth, or USB devices).
      2. Power off your laptop by pressing the Power button for about 10 to 20 seconds.
      3. Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery intact.
      4. Drain the remaining battery by holding onto the power button for approximately 60 seconds.
      5. Place the battery back in and plug in the charger.
      6. Press the Power button to turn on your laptop.

    Don't buy Dell

    I went against my better judgment. Bought this dell and started having problems with it not wanting to turn on. Some mornings it takes 10 minutes to get it to start up.

      Hello,

      Thank you for your feedback and response. We apologize for your experience with your laptop not functioning properly. We would love to assist you as soon as possible. We have provided steps below that can assist with your startup issues if needed in the future.

      1. If the computer is displaying the Dell logo and does not move past that point, it has probably failed POST.
      2. If the power indicator lights up and it is amber or orange, this is usually an indicator that it has failed POST.
      3. If you see text on a black screen, the computer is currently performing the POST. If the computer stays in that condition and does not move past it, it has probably failed POST.
      4. If the video screen displayed anything at all during the startup process but is now black, this probably indicates that the computer failed POST.
      5. If the computer is beeping or if Caps/Num/Scroll Locks are flashing, note if there is a particular pattern in which it beeps or flashes.
      6. If the computer is not beeping and caps/num/scroll locks are not flashing, unplug all connections and remove all media communication devices (e.g. external monitors); reconnect one at a time and check if the computer functions.
      7. For a notebook, press and hold the Fn key and then press the power button. This starts the pre-boot testing and will launch ePSA. In case you have a Desktop at the Dell logo screen tap the F12 key to enter One Time Boot Menu and use the arrow keys to highlight Diagnostics and press enter.

    Works as like a normal computer but not worth the money, can not run simple programs or even roblox very well.

    I can’t control the volume and none of the top function keys work. No one knows why, I would like to return it.

      Hello,

      Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties managing your volume control and using the top functions keys. We recommend you right click on your volume control within the taskbar and open volume mixer. This window will allow you to manually adjust the volume on a per app basis. To make sure that we can help with your function keys issues, below are steps that can be used to diagnose the direct issue with your keys.

      1. Run diagnostics on your keyboard, and you have the option to run online or built-in diagnostics (you will need a known good keyboard that is attached to start the diagnostics).
      -Online diagnostics.
      2. Browse to the Online Keyboard Diagnostics page.
      -The test will start automatically.
      3. You may be prompted to install or update the SupportAssist program, if so, follow the prompts.
      4. The keyboard test is an interactive test, and you must press every key to test your keyboard thoroughly.
      5. Make sure to perform the test on the keyboard that is having the issue.

      Thank you for sharing your review. We apologize for the issues you have come across with the screen on your laptop. We have provided steps that can be used to run a Self-Test on the monitor to help diagnose the issue.

      1. Power off the Dell laptop.
      2. Disconnect any external devices that are connected to the computer.
      3. Connect the AC adapter (charger) to the computer.
      4. Make sure that the LCD (screen) is clean (no dust particles on the surface of the screen).
      5. Press and hold the D key and power on the computer to enter LCD built-in self-test (BIST) mode.
      6. Continue to hold the D key, until you see color bars on the LCD (screen).
      -The screen displays multiple color bars and change colors to black, white, red, green, and blue.
      -Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities.

    This computer is killer and should really be more highly rated/used. I’m surprised to find this much power with the price. Great computer for work and zoom but also a solid entry level gaming computer that can run most games of normal at good FPS. Great bang for your buck, would recommend to anyone on a budget!

    Good Laptop

    It's a very decent mid range laptop. The touch full hd screen is a plus. I've had it for 11 days and use it for email, fb and writing letters with no problems. The only con is I'm used to my old lenovo t420 keyboard with slightly curved keys that are a little higher and seems like all the new keyboards, including this one, have flat keys. It takes a little getting used to. With this keyboard, it's easier for the finger to push the wrong key. Today, while going to the BB listing to write this review, I noticed the price had dropped $20.00. I chatted with a BB customer rep and he price matched and refunded me $20. You have until the return date to request a price match. The price was very competitive compared to other similar computers...most with not as good specs. Would I buy it again? YES.

    Good sale price for a very good Dell laptop.

    8 GB ram, 2 GB of which is dedicated to graphics. Plenty of ram for the use this laptop will need. Was able to dual boot Linux Mint alongside Windows 10; which proved much easier on this Dell compared to other manufacturers' machines. Dell is amenable to installing OS other than Windows. Using it with Windows 10 at the moment, and it is running very well and handling all the tasks thrown at it. Not a gamer, so can't speak to that. I've had several brands of laptops, and of those I prefer Dell. Dell is now my main choice of brands. Got this on sale and picked it up at my local Best Buy. Nearly lost out on this opportunity as they were snapped up soon after being listed on the sale site. Very, very pleased to have this machine.
