For $279, this is a great PC. Screen is low-end (to be expected) but perfectly fine. 4GB RAM (which can be upgraded to 8GB) and a 1TB hard drive make this a winner. For storing everything digital I have (700GB), this works great. The same config from dell.com is over $400, so this is a great deal. Just installed the Windows 10 Anniversary update and it's running fast with no issues. Since the smartphone is the central PC for most people now, just needed a Windows system for those certain tasks and for hard drive archive purposes, and this fits the bill great - at a price less than half of my smartphone.

I was pleasantly surprised on how fast this laptop this. I had bought an Asus laptop last week from Bestbuy which basically almost had the similar configuration as this Dell laptop. The Asus laptop seemed slower and lagged, so I decided to give this one a try and I'm impressed. I was surprised that the Asus laptop "lagged" even though it's has an i3 processor but it's not the case with this machine. Also I bought this from the website and it doesn't mention or show a DVD Drive but I was surprised when I opened and it came with a DVD drive.

I purchased this laptop computer to replace my old one. I am pleasantly surprised with the speed of the processor. It has plenty of memory to store just about anything you will ever need. I love the big screen, it makes everything very easy to see without having to scroll down to see a entire web page.

You really wont be disappointed. this machine really packs great speed and performance, and very easy on the wallet too!

This laptop HAS A DISC DRIVE. I couldn't find anywhere online it said that it had one. Even in store the guy said it didn't have one. Also people said they were having issues with the mouse right clicking randomly when trying to left click. At the bottom of the mouse pad there is a division that acts as the right and left buttons of the mouse. ( never having a laptop before I didn't know this and someone had to point it out) Although I just bought it and haven't experienced it enough yet I think this is a great price for a laptop with these specs and space to expand more RAM. I own a desktop but will use this for class and working on the go. I compared it to two other laptops around the same price and I think this one was a great choice.

Decent speed for general web browsing and email. Not the fastest laptop, but you can't beat it for the money

I bought this laptop for basic Web surfing, word processing and normal home use. The speed is fine for its use and everything I've connected to works fine. For the price, this is a great buy and you can't go wrong.

Touchpad driver needs an update its really bad so I went ahead and rollback the driver. How do u do that u may ask? well first search for device manager. Open that and where u see mice and other pointing devices, expand that. Right click on dell touchpad and then hit properties then click driver. Last but not least hit roll back driver. The laptop is decent I just don't really like the small keys and ram. I upgraded the ram to an 8GB.

Need a laptop for the office or school use, this can be a great choice. Speed wise it's pretty fast it has enough capacity with the 1tb hard drive and it's not bulky which is a big plus.

Works fine, process of application and data smoothly, workis fine for longer hours without getting heated.

Yes it is not a gaming computer and not the fastest. For the money of what it is I would say it is worth it. The touch pad doesn't scroll which why I gave it a 4 and not 5. Just don't understand some reviews giving low ratings what are they expecting for a laptop under $300.

Just purchased a Dell Inspiron 15.6 laptop last week at Best Buy Loved the fact that we could get a Dell product without the wait of building a computer and having to wait for it to be shipped. This computer is used mainly for website searches, so we didn't need to find an ultra fast processor but wanted the reliability of a Dell. For the cost this was a great value. And if we find we need to upgrade to 8 GB it's really affordable. It does take a bit to start up, but that's ok.

Looking for the best value for the dollar, strictly a work computer. My work related apps are not compatible with my MacBook Pro so this laptop wont see a lot of heavy use, however for its purpose so far so good. Noticeably slower than the MacBook but that was expected.

For my needs--mostly just checking email and accessing the internet--this was a good choice for a laptop and the price (under $300 on sale) was right. Though larger than I would have liked, it's really no heavier than the small one with similar features.

This laptop has all the features that I need. My use is just for leisure, emailing, watching videos, storing photos, etc. The price for the power this laptop can't be beat. Overall, i am satisfied with my purchase.

Last semester of college, needed a new computer & after reviewing this model along with a few others I decided to go with this laptop. I'm glad I did. It was well worth the price & I loved the DVD/CD rewriter works great. The price was very affordable.

We were looking for something cheap yet reliable for writing school papers and doing khan academy. It works fine and gets the job done. No complaints, we got exactly what we paid for.

Purchased laptop for my father. Was looking for something simple, not too expensive and have good reviews. Looked at other laptops online similar to this one but found this one to have better features that I thought my father would like. So far my father loves the laptop and hasn't had any problems. I myself may need to purchase one too!

Nice little laptop for the price. I only needed one to surf the web and other basic stuff. Works well streaming music and shows. Out of the box its a little sluggish. Make sure to fully update windows and all drivers. Works like a champ. Im going to add 4 gig of ram also. Makes this a really good budget friendly laptop
