This laptop works great. The software is wonderful

Bought this laptop to run the electronics on my commercial fishing boat and having problems with windows 8.

Seems to be of poor quality. Tapping mouse pad is frustrating because the response is very inconsistent. Also when Bing is used as search engine a lot of times it seems it brings up results in Chinese even though primary is set to United States English. I am no computer savvy guru but this seems ridiculous to me. I have had bad info from people at Best Buy before so I don't bother to discuss with them. Seems they can fixanything for a price.

Its a nice computer but could use more storage.the touch screen is a nice feature but i use the touch pad more which is very sensative

It's a great laptop at the given price for home use. The camera is not that great though. Overall a good buy.

So, that said: So far everything with this computer is going very well. I need to learn all of its features and abilities, but over time I should learn everything I would know about any other computer I have used/owned. The touchscreen is great and easy to use. I don't have to pound on the screen to get it to work. I didn't realize when I bought this that the screen doesn't rotate 180 to make it more tablet like, but that's okay. I don't need that feature. I would have given it 5 stars if it did flip180. But don't let the lack deter you from buying this item. I bought this laptop to use as an everyday computer to check email and type letters, etc. The fact that it comes with touchscreen, Bluetooth, DVD burner, plus a large expandable hard drive, and camera! I had to buy it. Since I didn't get a "new" laptop, the price was even cheaper. You really should consider buying the geek squad certified items, because hey, it's still returnable, so why not check it out. I was also surprised when the computer arrived a lot earlier than expected. The initial estimate of the delivery was like ten days, but when I finally placed the order and got the tracker from UPS it said 2 day air, and it came in 3 days because of the holiday. I bought this as a geek squad certified laptop. I was nervous about buying it but since it came with a 1 year warranty on parts and labor, and geek certified, I felt comfortable buying the laptop online. As of today, January 2, 2015, the first day of ownership, I would have to say that I would buy this again. I've never owned a computer with this much "stuff" and am excited to spend time exploring! I wish though there was a guided tutorial of some kind showing the user all of it's features, and what it is capable of doing. Don't let anyone tell you that this computer is cheap feeling - it's not. It feels great, is normal weight, and the keyboard is perfect! I spend most of my day typing on a normal keyboard and after a few seconds to learn the spacing, I am able to type with my normal proficiency. It comes with the 10-key # pad, and I LOVE that feature! Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong and I get to keep the computer. I will #hopefully# update this review if the devices starts to have issues.

Not fabulous but gets the job done. Some difficulty accessing Google. May have a virus.

previouesly i used sony vaio, its user friendly. but this product, i didnt understand many, like webcam is not working when i read the manual i can find answer. i called the customer service, but problem is not fixed, finally i m planing to return this one.

Worked great for the first two weeks until the keyboard failed. After spending over 2 hours on the phone with Dell they were not able to fix the issue. Returned to BestBuy and purchased a Lenovo. Now That is a GREAT product!

Windows 8 is unusable. You have to use another computer to get on line to get information on how to get on line. I threw mine in the trash and went back to my old computer (which I am using for this review)

When my wonderful Lenovo Windows 7 laptop finally died, I went to Best Buy and sought the advice of the computer staff, who were very helpful. Based on my usage and needs, I purchased this Dell. It has been a terrible frustration in many ways, including a remarkably slow processor - it can take over 1 minute to open a basic Word document. I can easily open IE in the Desktop mode, but not in Windows 8 Tile Mode. Other software/apps will only open in Tile mode. The touchpad is so unreliable I purchased a mouse. When I tried to return it to Best Buy I was told that if it started and worked, no matter how poorly, I could not return it. This is my last Best Buy computer purchase.

The body of the laptop was scratched and it has those cheap plastic mould stains. The configuration is okay but overall not an impressive product.

Keys stick and it lags alot for being new think im gonna take it back

Purchased this on Sale for 379.99 so far very happy with it. Nice touch screen I3 processor light weight love the 8.1 DVD drive a great buy.

Purchased for my grandchildren ages 7-12. So far they say it functions great. They are using it for games, you tube and internet related homework. They like the touchscreen and the fact that it has a slot to play DVDs. I did notice that the volume does not go very loud. They do not seem to mind. I think it is a great laptop for the money.

After several bad experiences with Toshiba computers, I bought this Dell. With its I3 processor, its super snappy! WIFI is amazingly fast, and it seems to be a very well built machine. Doesn't feel like a cheap computer that I had before. Excited to finally have a great computer! I would highly recommend to anyone.

I swore I'd never buy another Dell product after so many problems with Dell in the past, but, this laptop was in my price range so purchased it due to an accident with my Toshiba Qosmio. This Dell laptop is soooo sloooow. I run several browsers at a time & I use the computer mostly for internet surfing and heavy Facebooking and playing FB games, it just can't keep up with me. The new Windows layout takes a bit of getting used to. Luckily, I have a Windows smartphone so it's not totally foreign. If I had the money available, I definitely would have gotten a much better product.
