After reading the reviews on this computer I decided to purchase this computer. The computer worked great the first 3 days. Than after that the internet kept freezing followed by I couldn't change the web browser. It would unfreeze than it would happen again. I bought this computer mainly for internet usage and the CD/DVD player. I never was able to get the player to work. I ended up taking the computer back and was given a hard time considering I was within the return dates.

I read the initial reviews before making my purchase. Most people were satisfied with this item. However, I purchased one and I couldn't even get the start up process to work. I returned it and was given a replacement. The same thing happened with the second one. I read some of the more current reviews and found that several people have had the same problem with this item. I took the second one back today and told them about others having the same problem. They credited my account but seemed unconcerned that there were so many problems with this item which reflects poorly on their business.

GREAT laptop to use for work, its starts up within

The laptop started making a sound 4 weeks before the mother board quit working. A blob said that the sound could be static electricity and to remove the battery and push power to clear. It worked for 2 weeks and then nothing could clear the sound and the computer would not power up. Dell support said the mother board was dead and a new one could be purchased for $299!! Worst of all, I have a desktop that I use most of the time, so this laptop probably had less than 6 months usage.

After reading several recent reviews regarding the Dell Inspiron 3558, I went ahead and purchased this product. Unfortunately, I am unable to get past the initial startup screen, which keeps looping. It is frustrating after spending your hard earned money that you're nonchalantly told to return the item to the nearest store. What if you're unable to do that because you've purchased the system for a trip that you're on or maybe I am handicap with no dependents??? I've tried searching online for a fix but found nothing. Although I am aware that there will be a few bad apples in a bunch I do believe that once an issue is reported regarding a product, it is the responsibility of the manufacturer and then the retailer to ensure that a resolution or in this case a fix, that is not an inconvenience to the customer, is readily available.

This is one of the worst laptop that you could purchase. First off the track pad constantly freezes and register my touch, than start moving on it's on after I stop touching it. This laptop started making weird noises about an hour into unboxing it. I'm saying to myself as a computer guy, a computer with these specs should have to struggle with problems like this. So I pack this piece of garbage up and took it back.

Get what you pay for and this is an entry level laptop.

Made Cheap Laptop locks up? & touchpad is nonsense

I just bought this laptop a few weeks ago and I am already having trouble with it. This laptop refuses to remain connected to my WiFi. The internet box is less than 10 feet away from the laptop, and yet the laptop keeps on dropping my connection! I need consistent internet connection for school. I'm so disappointed in this purchase. I should have followed my first mind and avoided purchasing a Dell. This brand of computer has been mediocre since the 90s...

As I opened the factory sealed box, I charges it, waited a few hours, and then I began setting the unit up. It froze. I tried it again and after a long, sluggish process, I got it working, but shortly after it froze again. Now the screen is black and it won't restart or anything. $400 on sale, and in no time at all, it was out performed by a cheap little Barbie laptop from Wal-Mart of all places. Now I have to return it and go buy another one.

The initial setup process encountered technical difficulties, which prevented any further access to basic mechanics. In other words, the "Hi there" screen was about as far as I could get. This was a day one and day done investment. If you know what's good for you, steer clear of this disaster at your local Best Buy store.

This was a very bad experience for us. We really liked a lot of the features of the laptop, but the hard drive crashed during the initial boot-up/setup sequence. We took it back and learned that this model had been returned many times for the same issue. We exchanged it for a different brand/model.

Dell provides a terrible laptop with terrible customer service. Do not waste your money. I had problems connecting to wifi from the day I purchased the laptop. I spoke will DELL tech support who wanted to charge me because it was not a hardware issue. I will never buy another Dell.

I picked this laptop up yesterday, returned it because it locked up during setup. Returned it this morning for another of the same. SAME PROBLEM!! It can't even get through the start up with locking up.

Battery never reached 100%. Started freezing. Taking back.

Crashed During startup. I instantly packed this up to return. Will buy a higher priced laptop to save myself the trouble.

Upper right side of screen is not touch responsive... Returned
