Great Laptop

I purchased this laptop for running graphic design software, photo editing software, and Microsoft Office. This has been a great laptop and has met all my software's needs. If your going to do Adobe Illustrator or Affinity Designer (I have used both programs on this laptop) then I would recommend this laptop. Also, if you are going to use Adobe Photoshop or Affinity Photo I would recommend this laptop. I wouldn't recommend using Autodesk or similar software on this laptop. I can have four programs open at the same time with no sign of lag in the laptop. I have not upgraded the eight gigabyte RAM to sixteen gigabytes and I don't have any reason to upgrade to sixteen gigabytes. The eight gigabyte RAM keeps this laptop running at a very good speed. Typing on this laptop has also been a very good experience. I am not a professional typist by any means and I was able to reach about 50 to 55 words per minute. That speed would have been impossible to reach on the Toshiba laptop I used before purchasing this laptop. I'm sorry, but I do not game and thus cannot offer a review on its gaming capabilities. This is a great laptop. I cannot emphasize how great this laptop has been. I would recommend this laptop to anybody. I hope this has been an informational review for everybody contemplating purchasing this laptop.

Get what you pay for

I use this as a basic laptop, just internet and excel. But this thing is extremely slow. Had this for four months and having regrets. Example is I had Firefox open with one tab on youtube, nothing else opened. Laptop froze with 50% of battery life left and required a restart. Would not recommend for anyone needing to do multiple tasks at once while running on battery (college kids, etc.) or you will get very frustrated with how slow this thing is

Great basic laptop for price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Laptop runs great for the price once you TURN OFF Device encryption. My laptop came with that enabled and ran so poorly that I wanted to return but then found that device encryption was on by default. To turn it off you can hit start and search for Device Encryption and then click Turn Off, after doing that laptop was worth keeping. The 6GB ram is a nice bonus as well, since most have only 4GB in this price range.

The tablet seems to complicate the operation and I have been unable to get help. I am waiting for response. I have the lower 1/2 of my screen black and nothing removes it. I can only see a few inches of yahoo or document. FRUSTRATING!!!!!! The info that came with this Dell would fit in a pill bottle. Thank you! Rarinsharon

Too slow

It's a nice computer, love the keyboard but it's way too slow, I already delete some pre installed programs still the same. I don't know what to do I hope it's possible to return because I can't even do the basic. I rather stick to my 7 year old broken laptop is way faster. I'm sad.

This laptop is only for those patient users who can wait 2 minutes to full boot up and wait 30 seconds to open google chrome. Even Dell mentions this laptop for BASIC purposes only. BASIC means internet surfing only. Do not expect this laptop as your alternative work laptop . Do not get caught up with i5 processor Or 8 GB RAM. With Windows 10 requirements, This laptop hardware is very poor. Returning soon.

Very Slow then the Hard Drive Failed

I have to send it back to Dell to have it fixed. It was slow and I mean very slow from the beginning. I bought it for my 16 year old daughter to use for school work and to use for browsing the web.
