DO NOT BUY!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My last review did not get posted, may have been a bit too mean to Best Buy. Anyway, the charging port on this computer broke within 2 months of purchase. I am not sure how, as I did not jerk or pry the charger out. It is a very small charging head, which could explain why the port was so delicate. Anyway, it was no longer returnable, and when I took to Best Buy I was told it would be $250 to fix, which is nearly as much as I paid in the first place. I did not buy an extended warranty, since I expect brand new equipment to last beyond 2 months. Long story short, DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!! Last Dell product that I will ever buy.

Good for a day and after that... no good
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my boyfriend so he could have a laptop to work from home for. The first couple of days it was working fine, after that the screen glitches and turns back and then turns back on. He has taken care of this laptop so well so m only guess is that is it faulty. I was extremely upset knowing I did so much research to make sure I got him the perfect basic laptop that has all the basic needs but this one just really did not do it for me. Wish I could return this! He hasn't even had it for 6 months and the everything is faulty. so frustrating.

Misled by store salesperson
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had the I5 intel 256 gb laptop in our cart and when my wife went to purchase the current laptop they told her she was getting a deal with the i3 128 gb model. Bait and switch. Evidence as why Amazon will crush your corporation. People are tired of the bait and switch. I know many are saying take it back and correct it. I say why did the salesperson switch the sale in the first place. Goodbye Best Buy. Spent plenty of thousands with you this past year and am ready to purchase an entire appliance set for my current remodel. Oh well.

DO NOT BUY!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently bought this computer for school and when it arrived I began having issues with geting it to turn on. After a phone call to Dell technical support I was informed that the computer needed a entire new memory board. How could a brand new computer straight out the box already need something replaced? Needless to say I returned it and bought a new one elsewhere.

Doesn't charge anymore.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What's worse that being a senior in high school during a pandemic? Having to do all your classes online, not seeing your friends, not having a prom or graduation and now having a laptop that was a Christmas present stop working in the middle of a pandemic when all your assignments are online. Thanks Dell.

Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear that your computer has stopped working. If you are receiving AC Adapter error messages you can consider troubleshooting with these suggestions: We'd recommend checking the following causes of possible AC Adapter Error Messages:
1. Are you using a 3rd party or is a non-Dell branded AC adapter is connected to the PC or docking station?
2. Are you using an AC adapter with a lower wattage?
3. Is the AC adapter is not fully connected to the PC?
4. Check to see if the wall power cord is not fully connected to the AC adapter.
5. The AC adapter or PC's AC adapter port could be damaged.
6. The AC adapter is not recognized in BIOS (System Setup).
You can read the full article here: http://dell.to/2xQTan2.
We hope this helps your computer start charging for you again.

Virus bug-don’t purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Horrible laptop! Computer last just over 30 days and randomly crashes and fails! Horrible purchase so glad I bought a protection plan and kept my receipt! Returning this laptop I bought for my mom ASAP! Had virus protection and downloaded no sketchy apps but that didn’t stop the laptop from crashing.

2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.
We'd also suggest checking to make sure that your software and drivers are up to date on Dell's Product Page - https://dell.to/2rlFsde.

We're sorry to hear about the battery life on your daughter's computer. Please read the terms of Dell's One Year Limited Warranty to see if this computer qualifies: http://dell.to/2tNsVOs.
Please feel free to reach out to Dell's Support Team for additional assistance: http://dell.to/2sH7Qlm.
Here are some tips to help extend the runtime of your computer's battery when it is fixed:
Change the Power Plan:
1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
2. On the options list, click Power Options.

The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.
d) Additional settings available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver feature.

Thanks for your review and we're sorry that your computer is not turning on for you. We'd recommend the following steps to see if these will help start your computer:
1. If the computer is displaying the Dell logo and does not move past that point, it has probably failed POST.
2. If the power indicator lights up and it is amber or orange, this is usually an indicator that it has failed POST.
3. If you see text on a black screen, the computer is currently performing the POST. If the computer stays in that condition and does not move past it, it has probably failed POST.
4. If the video screen displayed anything at all during the startup process but is now black, this probably indicates that the computer failed POST.
5. If the computer is beeping or if Caps/Num/Scroll Locks are flashing, note if there is a particular pattern in which it beeps or flashes.
6. If the computer is not beeping and caps/num/scroll locks are not flashing, unplug all connections and remove all media communication devices (e.g. external monitors); reconnect one at a time and check if the computer functions.
7. For a notebook, press and hold the Fn key and then press the power button. This starts the pre-boot testing and will launch ePSA. In case you have a Desktop at the Dell logo screen tap the F12 key to enter One Time Boot Menu and use the arrow keys to highlight Diagnostics and press enter.

Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear that Windows has been giving you some trouble so far. Here are some steps to convert your system out of Windows S Mode:
'Windows 10 in S mode is designed for security and performance, exclusively running apps from the Microsoft Store. If you want to install an app that isn't available in the Microsoft Store, you'll need to switch out of S mode. Switching out of S mode is one-way. If you make the switch, you won't be able to go back to Windows 10 in S mode. There's no charge to switch out of S mode.
1. On your PC running Windows 10 in S mode, open Settings > Update & Security > Activation.
2. In the Switch to Windows 10 Home or Switch to Windows 10 Pro section, select Go to the Store. (If you also see an "Upgrade your edition of Windows" section, be careful not to click the "Go to the Store" link that appears there.)
3. On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store, select the Get button. After you see a confirmation message on the page, you'll be able to install apps from outside of the Microsoft Store.
