Bad computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is junk. The key board stops working all the time. I believe it has something to do with the touch screen. Flashed bios no luck. Now a windows 360 icon keeps popping up in the task bar and going away. Each time this happens you have to click....guess what you have to click for...to make the key board work again. Please Best Buy. How can I send this computer back..do I bring it to the store or send it to dell?

Lots of Problems
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop July 2020. I started having trouble about a month after buying it with the operating system. The operating system has bugs in it and the troubleshooting app is not working so I can't fix it. I get various error messages and cannot download programs. The list of problems goes on and on. Dell wants to charge me $100 to troubleshoot it. This is the last time I buy a Dell product.

Running out of space
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research on laptops and thought that 1 TB HDD and 128 GB SSD would be sufficient. I only use it for storing documents, photos, etc. I don't do any gaming or video editing. I even keep most of my documents in One Drive. One month in and I am already running out of space. I have read many articles about how to use the D drive (HDD) and it isn't working or I'm doing something wrong. It shouldn't be this complicated!

Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear about the issue with storage that you're having on your computer. Here are some steps that should help you fully utilize the available storage on your new computer:
We would recommend running Disk Management on your computer in order to assign a drive letter to the 1 TB HDD storage drive. After assigning a drive letter to this storage space you will be able to save your files independent of the 128 GB SSD storage that you have been using. If you have additional questions about Disk Management on your computer and setting up a new drive you can read the following Microsoft Support article: https://bit.ly/34RGUmU.

How do I compare? If I compare this laptop with m
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not even enough space to type in my summary. This does not compare in any way with my old (very old) Windows 7 PC. No User Guide. No Quick Start Guide. No help whatsoever with setting up. Wave your hands anywhere near this laptop and you will lose whatever you are working on. I now need 4 keystrokes to do what I previously did with 2. And this is supposed to be a step for the better? I don't think so. Extremely disappointed.

If you'd like to re-calibrate your touchpad so it's less sensitive, you can follow these steps: Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. Here are some tips to modify these settings:
1. In the Search box, type main.cpl.
2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs.
3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab.
4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad.
5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option).
6. Change the options as preferred.
7. Touch or click Save.
8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility.
9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window.
10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I signed up for geek squad for $150 so that they could start me out, that didn't happen. I ended up getting myself out of s mode. Then, I went online to seek help like was presented with deal and no appts could be made due to backlog of 3 months of appts. So, now I have this stupid laptop sitting here cuz it has a stupid owner that was promised to be taught by geek squad and isn't happening. Waste of $650!

Defective out of box - Dell would not replace
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We experienced immediate issues because the AC adapter would not stay plugged into laptop and the battery would not recharge. If the computer was moved or even jiggled, the AC adapter would fall out. Called Dell less than two weeks after purchase and they insisted that the warranty did not cover "damage" like this. What an outrage. Lucky for me, Best Buy is allowing me to return this.

Crashed less than a year into this product.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is why I don’t review until a year of use. It was fine but 10 months later it glitches out. I’ve waited for it to resume but alas it keeps me in a loop because of an operating system issue. Is it Microsoft? Dell? Geek Squad? It’s a shame people pay hundreds for a so-called dependable computer and one can’t get a full year without problems.

Posted .Kevin,
We're sorry to hear about the poor battery life on your new laptop. Here are some suggestions to extend the life of your computer's battery:
Change the Power Plan:
1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
2. On the options list, click Power Options.
3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.
d) Additional settings available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver feature.

Died in six month.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all it does not have keyboard light, inconvenient to use in low light. It worked fine till today. I was tired with HP and switched to this low cost deal of Dell. Today after six month I found it left on overnight sitting on table and it crashed and keep reloading. My most worry is i am in middle of my college submission for this week.

Posted .Hello Kabiraj,
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your experience. Below I have provided steps that should resolve the crashing issue. I have also provided steps to help with performance & speed.
To try to resolve crashing/freezing, you can try the following.
1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports."
2. Select View all problem reports viewing a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
3. Under the Source column, look for Windows, and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.
You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2u98Cct
Limit start up programs:
1. Close all open windows.
2. Press CTRL + Shift + ESC key together on the keyboard.
3. In the Task Manager window, click Startup tab.
4. Select the program or application that you want to disable from loading during startup.
5. Right-click and select Disable.
6. Repeat Step 4 & 5 for all the programs or applications that you want to disable from loading during startup.
7. Restart your PC.
Uninstalling or removing software or applications that you do not use or do not need from your PC can help speed up your PC. Applications may include background processes, system services, context menu entries and other things that can slow down your PC. Uninstall applications you no longer need using Programs and Features (previously called Add/Remove Programs). Unnecessary applications occupy space on your hard disk drive. I have provided the steps on how to uninstall applications below.
1. Press the Windows logo key + R on the keyboard.
2. In the Run dialog box, type appwiz.cpl and press the Enter key.
3. In the list, select a program and click Uninstall.

Posted .CiSCiSC,
Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear that Windows 'S' mode has prevented you from downloading several things so far. Here are the steps to remove 'S' mode from your computer for free:
'Windows 10 in S mode is designed for security and performance, exclusively running apps from the Microsoft Store. If you want to install an app that isn't available in the Microsoft Store, you'll need to switch out of S mode. Switching out of S mode is one-way. If you make the switch, you won't be able to go back to Windows 10 in S mode. There's no charge to switch out of S mode.
1. On your PC running Windows 10 in S mode, open Settings > Update & Security > Activation.
2. In the Switch to Windows 10 Home or Switch to Windows 10 Pro section, select Go to the Store. (If you also see an "Upgrade your edition of Windows" section, be careful not to click the "Go to the Store" link that appears there.)
3. On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store, select the Get button. After you see a confirmation message on the page, you'll be able to install apps from outside of the Microsoft Store.
