This is a good laptop. The keys are not so springy but you get use to it.

Got one for both my grade school daughters. They love it for their school work. Run websites that the iPads don't.

First off, it seemed too good to be true that the computer I was getting was only going to cost $499. This has the latest Intel Core i5 6200U processor, which is somewhat of an improvement to last generation's processor, the 5200U. The integrated graphics were a huge improvement, I was able to play many games such as GTA V with absolutely no hiccups. The keyboard is backlit, and has 2 modes, which is beneficial to me. The key travel is great, and typing feedback is accurate. Do keep in mind it may take a day or so to fully get used to the keyboard. For those of you that play games that involve the keyboard and mouse at the same time, you're in luck. Most laptops disable the trackpad when you are using the keyboard, but this doesn't, which is a huge bonus. The trackpad also takes some getting used to, but it is overall a great thing to use. Clicking is accurate, but multi finger gestures can be a pain at times. Don't let that put you down, because once you get used to it, you'll be fine. The battery is in fact removable, which is a huge bonus for those who want to purchase a spare battery to swap out with another. Speaker quality on this device is extraordinarily amazing. Songs were clear, and bass was good. The dialog quality was quite precise too. I took my Apple Earpods, and plugged them into this, and man, this computer made $30 headphones sound like $500 headphones. Now let's talk about the screen. The screen is powerfully bright and very clear for 1366 by 768 resolution. This also is a touch screen, which is a great addition. Touch screen performance is great, multi finger gestures on the screen work flawlessly. The battery on this device usually gets around 4 hours with non demanding usage, and with screen brightness around 50%.This computer does not get too warm, so you won't have to worry about temperatures. However, turn on some Battlefield 4 or some GTA V, and you will hear the fan and feel the hotness, but it is nothing to worry about. Lastly, what I wasn't expecting to come with this laptop. Intel's new Realsense 3D camera is included with this device. Webcam quality is superior compared to a normal webcam, and the bonus feature of 3D technology was a huge advantage. There are many things this can do. I have no cons for this device whatsoever, it is running smooth, and is a great bang for your buck. :)

While I don't like writing bad reviews, I had the unfortunate experience of buying this product only to get it home for use and upon unpacking and starting it up I got the B.S.O.D.. If you're not familiar with that acronym, I encourage you to look it up.

I was in the market for a solid laptop at around $500, and this laptop looked like a great choice with the most recent core i5 processor and otherwise solid specs in the price range. The actual product, although not perfect, has delivered. Positives: -Keyboard is very comfortable -Back lit keyboard -Solid processing speed for routine tasks -High quality appearance Cons: -The one major con is an issue with Cortana. Although I've confirmed independently and though Dell tech support that my microphone is working fine, Cortana will not pick up my voice unless I literally scream into the microphone holes. So, while I could use it in theory, I probably won't. This will be a bigger deal for some people, but for me I really don't care that much. -Colors / screen not the best I've ever seen. Overall it's fine, especially at this price point. -Mouse pad isn't the best I've ever used, but it's fine once you get used to it. All in all, a very solid purchase at this price point. If you understand what you're purchasing -- and understand that you're not getting a $750-$1,000 product -- I think you will be satisfied.

I got it in the end of February and only used a couple times for school but its already acting out: doesn't turn on on multiple occasions unless battery removed a couple times and put back, it takes over a minute to start it or open Microsoft office file. Aaaand apparently I can't return it, only repair. And here I thought I'd get a new laptop and will be enjoying my new purchase. Very disappointing

We have had nothing but issues with this laptop since we bought it. It continually shuts off if you move it. not even 5 months old, and my dell that I bought and paid a lot of money for has been the same. at 13 months everything internally had to be replaced. I wouldn't buy another dell.

Just bought one of these for my daughter. Very impressed for the price. I was trying to find her a laptop with: Touch Screen Backlit Keyboard Decent Processor Decent Memory 1TB Hard Disk Space Internal DVD ROM Drive USB 3.0 Bluetooth Windows 10 O.S. This was the only laptop that met all that criteria, **and** fell inside of my $500 budget. I really like the Stainless Steel look of the exterior too. After setting hers up (very little bloatware to dodge or remove), I think I just might stop back in the store and buy one to replace my own outdated Sony Pentium Laptop.

I don't usually do reviews but i think this one deserves it. I needed a computer that i could connect to my 27" monitor and that would handle AutoCAD 2015, Corel and SolidWorks 2016 and so i bought this one. I have to say that i am impress! the computer handles the programs smoothly so far i haven't had a glitch and haven't freeze or anything like that. It's quiet and it has the power to handle any of my Vector programs. The only bad thing that i found was the Color settings, they are a little off but that's something most of us can fix, or google "how to". For the price point is an excellent computer with some cool features that even i don't use that often is good to know they are there. (Bluetooth, Face recognition, touch screen, etc.)

It is a great laptop for the money!!!! When I bought it their where no reviews on it so I took a chance everything is correct on the first review but on mine the video driver keeps crashing for some reason. I tried to upgrading the drivers that did not work I tried restoring the laptop back to original state and then upgrade the drivers that did not work ether so I will be exchanging mine back today. I hope that this issue is just this one and not all of them. I will let yall know.

This laptop is really good so far. Keyboard lights up, it's pretty fast so far. Only thing I hate is the keyboard keys. They do seem like they might fall out sometime. Besides that, this is a really good laptop and it functions pretty well!

    Poor battery charge

I returned this laptop after a week of trial. The most disappointing for me was the lack of battery charge as it was not able to hold more than 3 - 3.5 hrs charge for basic use such as website browsing and word processing. The start up was not as fast either with the i5 processor and 6gb ram. It is slightly big n heavy for a 15.6" laptop. I had bought it mainly due to the features/specs (including backlit keyboard, wifi-ac, etc) but as I could barely do a 3 hour work, I did not keep it. I replaced it with Toshiba Satellite C model that was cheaper with i3 processor, 6gb ram, 1tb had. Believe it or not, this Toshiba is faster and holds 5 hours battery for my basic work. Price was good for dell but did not fit my need.

Its another good in general laptop from Dell Has got all the features that you would like. Also looks great. Myonly 2 problems are the power capacity (its only 4 hours) and the fact that it sometimes feels a bit slow, especially during powerup or reboot... Anyways a good buy

I had high hopes for this laptop with all the features that I wanted, but it was nothing but trouble straight out of the box. The Bluetooth did not work even after hours of troubleshooting. It had a lot of trouble loading Windows in and was terribly slow. We even wiped everything to reinstall and it sat in a "repairing" state for 6+ hours (we left it overnight and was still in this state when we checked first thing the next morning). Also, normal problem but still frustrating - the McAfee software needed to uninstalled because it was colliding with Windows Defender and created a ton of crazy glitches. The laptop is HUGE for a 15.6" - it barely fit the compatible case that I bought with it. Keyboard and touch pad are very poor quality. This was my first Dell and sadly I won't plan on buying one again. Really disappointed with this product and the quality. I hate giving bad reviews but I've never had such a bad experience with a brand new laptop. I exchanged it immediately the next morning for an HP that is gorgeous and working great with better features and no problems.

I bought this laptop for my high school age son for Christmas and he loves it. We've had it 6 months now and have no issues. My son loves it and has taken it with him to college.
