Slow for the specs

The specs are pretty decent, significantly higher than the laptop I purchased 3 years ago. Yet, my old computer outperforms this computer by far. I was just trying to do something simple with a couple tabs up: online banking and paying bills. The computer immediately began to lag out. The touch pad has issues and will stop working for a minute or so at a time. Running the dell updates has done nothing to help.
