Got this for $400 during black Friday sales and it's been working like a charm. The SSD allows for a quick boot up, and it's got a snappy processor so multitasking works well with little to no delay. It's definitely a mid to low mid-range Windows laptop but if you're not doing intensive gaming or design work it has all the power you need. Highly recommend it at the right price point.

As other reviewers have likely indicated, this laptop is a bit heavy, and the battery size could be bigger. My biggest negative is the sloppy-feeling keyboard, but frankly, at the "holiday price" you can't beat the features. Too bad it does not have a back-lit keyboard, or I would have given it 5 stars.

My mom's older laptop decided to go on the fritz so I purchased this Dell for her. Mind you, she plays games, cruises Facebook and Skypes with family around the country, so she didn't need anything high-end, wildly expensive or graphic-intensive. This was PERFECT. It's faster than her older laptop, does everything she needs and more. So happy I picked it. Dell never disappoints ima.

I've had many laptops over the years and this Dell is definitely the best! Boots quickly and the SSD makes a noticeable difference in file accesses. The screen is large and has great resolution. The battery life is good. I can take this out for the day and not worry about finding someplace to charge. This was a "Black Friday" special, so the price was also great! What's not to like?

It is a decent laptop for the price while it was on sale. Because of the included SSD, speed is good but the laptop is a bit heavy for traveling. The screen is 720p so not the best but good enough for browsing and other general activities.

I purchased this computer because it was a Dell for a good price. I really wanted a dvd/cd with it so I would not need the external drive. It did not have one. My fault for not reading closely. Computer runs nicely. Not super fast but works okay for daily tasks. I like that it is solid state.

I bought this as a Christmas gift. This seems to be a special value model for Best Buy. It has identical specs as my Inspiron 7549 Laptop I bought last year for about $300 less. The main difference is the casing, my more expensive model has a brushed aluminum lid and deck (the keyboard panel) where this one is all plastic, HOWEVER I inspected it before wrapping it and it is a good quality, attractive plastic and not at all cheap looking. It was very difficult to find a laptop for my mother in laws’s present with a 15.6” screen, a Core I5, 8 GB of RAM and an SSD Drive! The SSD being the most important as I do not use mechanical HDDs as boot drives any longer, the speed difference is tremendous. A very good deal, and tremendous value if you don’t care about the plastic body. She will be thrilled!

I got this for my granddaughter for Christmas. It works really well and is much faster than her old laptop. The screen is large which she really limed. She was disappointed that the front screen didn’t swivel, as the salesman had told us it did. All in all it’s a nice laptop.

I love this Dell ,it’s fast and reliable, I've been using it for over 15 months and just added a portable DVD burner to stream my cds to a bluetooth speaker I threw out my HP after 2 years it was a dog from day 1, same specs, i run the Mcafee and dumped Norton also, too big a program and constantly updating, buy it!!!!

starts fast, SSD is a big factor, I guess. touch screen is nice.
