Well priced laptop for storing pics, & surfing Web
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My i3 laptop from 2010 was starting to get slow. I like to play Word w/ friends, that has a lot of marketing ads, as well as keep my emails open & usually one more fun game or Microsoft app. like Excel or Word, and a scrolling chat room, so this serves my “basic” needs, just overlooked needing memory upgrade for future (i.e., more open tabs in Browser requires more processor speed and memory to manage efficiently), but that’s primarily due to the great $350 price point.

touchpad doesn't work well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.screen is fine and the touchscreen functions reasonably well. However it lags terribly and the touchpad doesn't work at all. i changed the settings on it and it is marginally better but its a pain. it doesn't always register two finger clicks i turned the sensitivity all the way up and still have to tap multiple times then finally i give up and just click. when reading text it will just occasionally highlight half the screen when i haven't touched anything. A little research (that i should have done before my black friday impulse purchase) revealed that all of these seem to behave this way with many third party companies selling "fixes" such as driver packs. There are even tutorials on youtube about how to remove current drivers and redownload certain symantec older ones to improve the performance of the touchpad. I'm overall pretty dissatisfied and am considering returning but for the hassle of removing all my information and buying another computer i'll probably just eat the $350. It's alot of computer for the money but a constantly annoyingly bad interface is annoying.

Posted .Hello Jeff, Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear that your touchpad responsiveness is not what you were hoping for. It seems like you've done a bit of research but if you'd like to try the following steps please feel free: Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. Here are some tips to modify these settings:
1. In the Search box, type main.cpl.
2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs.
3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab.
4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad.
5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option).
6. Change the options as preferred.
7. Touch or click Save.
8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility.
9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window.
10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
You can read the full article here: http://dell.to/2tqmS02.
We hope these tips help with your computer's overall responsiveness. - Bryan
