Waste of money!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read the reviews and was very hesitant on buying this but the sales guy assured me it was a great little notebook and fast. Well, he lied! It freezes non stop and is so slow. I never use it and can't return it because they only give you like 10 days to do so. It was an anniversary present from my husband, which I went and bought, but I had to wait until our anniversary to open it. Anyway, by the time I was able to use it, my return window was gone. At least Best Buy and the sales guy got something worth while out of the purchase, because I didn't! It just sits on the shelf collecting dust, while I use my old hp and iPhone. Anyone want to buy this from me??? Lol, yeah, I didn't think so, considering I was honest and all.

Great size with lots of power
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.5 days in and I still love it. Its super light and compact but does everything I need it to including heavy lifting, analysis in Excel etc. Pros small, nice color, amazing screen, fast, light, good price. Cons- trackpad feels a little slow. My youtube, pandora etc did not work initially. You will have to do not just a Windows update but also a Dell Driver update including the bios update. After that this laptop runs like a well oiled machine. If you store alot of video etc on your device, you may wanna wait on a 256 SSD HD to come out. I have no pictures or video stored on this as yet and I'm already at 58GB used of an available 107GB HD space. Tent mode is a lil squirmy.

Poor Motherboard
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not the fault of Best Buy, but the motherboard went bad after less than a year of use. I am an adult and treated the computer well, so there is no excuse for this lack of quality.

GREAT CPU IF YOU UPDATE THE APPROPRIATE DRIVERS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.when 1st planning to buy a new laptop, i 1st bought a lenovo flex 11.6" for around $350. the size was perfect however it was very under powered with only 4gb memory 500gb hd and a celeron processor. i exchanged it for an asus 14" with 6gb memory 500gb hd and a celeron processor which was much better performance wise but was a little too big for my tastes. the inspiron 11 3153 had no reviews at the time and all the reviews i read on the 8gb memory version with a lesser processor were terrible due to blue screens of death. however i made the purchase anyway hoping the the newer i3 processor would help. i must say that out of the three, this is by far the best. it seems it may have avoided any errors thus far because i took an hour or so to update every driver that was outdated. a good way to find which ones is to type update in the windows search bar. i know dell has a list of updates on their site for this cpu and microsoft has another set that will need to be updated. exhaust every option to get everything up to date and you will have a computer on your hands that will rival those hundreds of dollars more. another note is the keyboard can be easily switched to a back lit version, and no matter which one you decide on, the hard drive can be updated to a128gb solid state and possibly a 256gb solid state and 8gb memory if you want to save money out of the box for the 500gb 4gb memory version and upgrade later. the processor is basically the only item that can not be upgraded. HOPE THIS WAS HELPFUL. NOTHING ELSE IN BESTBUY WILL NET YOU THESE SPECS FOR IS THIS PRICE RANGE.

Touchpad issue
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this pc 3 months and the touch pad broke within a couple weeks or so. Has been sent to Dell 3 times and a service tech sent to my house once. Its still broken and Dell seems to be just trying the same thing over and over. I've been patient, but now very unsatisfied and wondering if I will ever get a working PC.

Better than the old model but still finicky
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop to replace my recently deceased HP laptop in the hopes that Dell actually fixed and improved some issues with this iteration of their 2-in-1s. As a previous review stated, you have to do quite a bit of updating to Windows and the drivers before everything works well without issue. Unfortunately the Dell Updater program doesn't give you a list of drivers that need updating or the ones that'll work for the machine, so you have to go through all of them to be safe. Anyway, after all's updated, you can get to business. While this performs better than the 4th-gen i3 models it still has a few issues that seem to be persistent with the Inspiron series. For one the touchpad is a bit finicky; it cuts out at random and stops working so there's a chance you'll need to restart your computer in order to use it again. This problem can also affect the touchscreen, also requiring a restart if you use that frequently. Speaking of which, the screen is prone to smudges from even the smallest of swipes which can interfere with your viewing so a screen guard would be useful unless you mind cleaning your screen regularly. These things still prevent the Inspiron from being a standout machine that can contend with other 2-in-1s on the market. On the upside, 8 GB RAM size and an SSD onboard really helps for those who multitask and run multiple browser tabs at once. It also improves the boot-up time and battery life [I estimated roughly between 6-7.5 hours at 20% brightness]. It also can handle a few Steam games on the go without much slowdown for a few more intensive ones. Compared to the older model, the bottom also doesn't heat up to an uncomfortable level after long periods of use. Honestly, this machine is a mixed bag of good and bad; for some one any outweigh more than the other depending on how you plan to use it. Final note: For some reason, if you're using the laptop on the charger, it undergoes a brief period of stuttering when you unplug it from the charger. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Un-useable

Excellent one, 6th Gen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so much happy about this computer, 6th Gen Dell touch screen, it is awesome and meet my expectation. I love it this due to a small and easy to carry it everywhere. Processor Core i3 is perfect for this and fast. I changed with Toshiba laptop, this is much better than Toshiba.

Exactly what I wanted!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit was to replace my older 2 in 1 Toshiba U925 series laptop that the display recently died on. Though the unit quite isn't as fast as the Toshiba was, very respectable though. As in other reviews read for this model, I have also experience Intel Display issues. I have updated the Intel drivers and well as the Bios, and it seems not to be happening quite as much as when first pulled out of box. Even though this occurred out of box, I've seen worst. I believe this is more a Windows 10 issue than related hardware. Very solid "lighter weight" machine to carry with me for my Family research project. Happy with choice.

Average Laptop - But an Average price point too
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this laptop is OK for the budget buyer. My laptop was fine out of the box, although I think the wi-fi adapter is bad as it disconnects from hotspots frequently (different ones). But other than that, I think it's an OK computer. Nice small design, light weight (which is what I wanted) plus plenty of power for general computing tasks. Probably not the best choice for media editing/creation (photo editing, video editing, heavy-duty programming, etc). Would probably be OK for light programming on the go and basic photo editing, but nothing intensive or demanding as the i3 is not the best for heavy-duty processing tasks. Size is nice because it slips easily into a camera bag or other smaller bag. I also like the 3 USB ports (2 of which are USB 3.0) and the fact you can actually replace the SSD with an aftermarket one. Only other downside is that it only has one DIMM slot, so you can only put 8GB in it as of this writing. SD card reader is helpful and overall it feels fairly sturdy (screen is a bit flimsy but with a notebook this size, this can be expected). Not sure if I would recommend or not yet (I'll say yes for now since everything else is fine), as my wi-fi card failed, but maybe mine is just one of the few units that have defects. If you do get a laptop, get an extended warranty as they can be broken easily.
