Difficulty connecting to most websites since in-home setup 3 wks ago remain unresolved despite technical help from Geek Squad and ATT. One blames the ISP. the other the laptop, as my frustration grows.

    Great college student laptop

I am very pleased with my new Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series that I have had for a month now, it has got some great features and I believe it will be great for my intended purpose as a college laptop/tablet. This product is great for college students or anybody needing the combination of a laptop and tablet on the go. The touchscreen 2-in-1 design is real handy, in the sense that it is applicable in a multitude of situation. When typing or doing standard class work, this device serves as a standard laptop and keyboard, but if you want to watch a movie or do something interactive you can fold it backwards and use the touchscreen, turning it into a laptop. This laptop has a nice 13-inch screen, is relatively lightweight and is very slim, which is great if you are carrying it around all day. It fits in any standard size book bag and isn’t bulk or take up too much room. The 128 ggb drive makes start up and web surfing very fast, which makes for less draw off the battery. The battery life on this laptop is one of the best I have ever had, I can use it throughout the better part of the day with out having to plug it in. It also recharges very quickly so I can easily give it a quick charge when getting lunch or something. This device has a very high-quality picture and display, making videos, tv shows and movies a pleasure to watch. So far, I have not had any problems with glitching or unresponsiveness, whereas that has been an issue for me with past laptops/tablets. The price on this machine is in my humble opinion tough to beat! I have never gotten such a smooth-running rig for such a low price, you can look at comparative models from other companies and plan on spending a few hundred more dollars for an equivalent. My only wish is that it had a disc insert for movies and such, but you can get an external plug in disc player for a relatively cheap price offline. Overall, I think based off size, usability and price this is the perfect computer for a college student or anybody doing computer work on the go. Pros • Price • Size • Speed • User friendly Cons • No disc insert

    Big Bang for the Buck!

I purchased this to help complete my degree online, and it has been a big surprise so far! It offers all of the things much more expensive machines do with a much friendlier price tag! The solid state drive makes booting up a breeze, the 8GB of RAM allows me to seamlessly build spreadsheets, stream videos, and surf the web on multiple tabs simultaneously. The back-lit keyboard is also a major plus, this was a mandatory feature for me while shopping, and I noticed that some competition in the same price range did not offer this feature. Another feature I love is the facial recognition- no password to type in every time you log on, You just look at the screen! If you are a student, need an affordable laptop for work, or just need a dependable computer for the home, I just don't see how you could go wrong with this Dell considering the price tag.I have been telling my friends, family and coworkers about it the past few weeks. The absolute only knock on it that I can think of is the battery life. Its getting me about 6 hours of use, which is not bad at all, but about an hour less than my past 2 machines.

I have a desktop PC that I customized with a solid state drive, and I am now spoiled. I was in dire need of a new laptop, but was on a budget. I was originally looking for something under $500, but it was almost impossible to find one with an SSD at that price, so I decided to spend slightly more (this was slightly discounted). That extra $100 (including tax) was SOOOOOOOO worth it. The overall look and feel is very similar to the Macbook Air. It feels sturdy even when I just carry it around open. I have a very active 16 month old toddler, and this laptop makes it easy for me to follow her around and work ANYWHERE. It's also great that it turns into a tablet for my 7 year old. Another huge plus is that is does not overheat. This is my first Dell, and I am VERY satisfied so far.

Great little personal laptop. Perfect for college students and those on the go. 2in1 feature is great, and the backlit keyboard is a plus. In terms of speed, turning it on is a breeze. Not too laggy unless you're running heavy duty software and like a bunchload of tabs, which the i3 processor isn't really designed for. Since it is an SSD, it doesn't make noise, nor get too hot. Overall a great buy for around 500$!

    Unreliable, crashes many times

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've had this laptop for 1.5 years now and it has been having serious issues with the software. About 2 months after I bought it, it started crashing unpredictably and the screen would become blue. I sent it in to Geek squad and after about 4 weeks, got it back and it started working for a period, with the exception of occasionally freezing and requiring to be manually restarted. About 1 month ago, it has had this new problem where whenever I close the screen and open it again, the screen turns different colors and flashes several times and I have to manually restart it. Having a reliable laptop is extremely important to me as a medical student and I imagine, for any use, and Dell has failed in that capacity. Do not buy this computer!

Fola - We're sorry to hear about the issues with Blue Screen Crashes that you are facing. We'd recommend that you diagnose the crashes in this way:
      1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports".
      2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
      3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
      4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution. You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2u98Cct.
Hopefully, after the issue is diagnosed you will be able to stop the crashes from happening. - Bryan Dell

    Very happy

I purchased this laptop for two reasons: #1 it was cheap and I needed a laptop quickly since my school laptop broke #2 it had the most positive reviews for this price range. I am very satisfied with my purchase. If you are looking for a gaming computer this is not it. You will not realistically find one of those for this price range. So to complain about that would not be wise. However, if you are looking for a basic computer to do everyday work on, this is efficient. I can update RAM to 8GB later if necessary. I haven’t had any lag, setup was extremely simple and it’s perfect for what I need it for. Which is mostly word documents, web browsing and the occasional Netflix.

    Great but noisy little sucker

I love my laptop, I do. But let me tell you, the design of it was not greatly thought out. Everything runs well until I have it sitting on my lap. The vents for this machine are on the bottom (so are the speakers but that is less hazardous to my health). Now, I don't know WHO decided to design a LAPtop, by putting the vents on the bottom, so that you cannot even have it sitting on your lAp without it burning and making a heck of a lot of noise because it is hot and mad so the little fans are spinning like crazy... but other than that it is great.

This makes a great notebook for the road, thin and light with long battery life. This model has a TPM 2.0 chip and Bitlocker is enabled by default. Facial Recognition log-ins and it works great every time. I updated the Windows 10 Home to Pro but bitlocker works fine with the Home version as well.
