defective/crashes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for school and it has given me nothing but problems from day 1. It boots up fast, but has crashed on me multiple times to bluescreens because of "critical process died" or "unexpected store exception" and upon bootup it tells me my hard drive is not installed. I bypass the scan and it comes on. Windows defeneder finds no issues, neither does avg. I have even reset it to factory settings to wipe it clean, and it's still doing the same thing. Since I'm past the return period, bestbuy wants to screw me out of my money, I can't return or exchange. If you are a college student looking for a reliable laptop and helpful customer service, keep looking. You won't find either of those at bestbuy.

Nice Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop to replace an almost 7 year old Dell that had no space left on the hard drive. This computer starts up quick and does what I need it to for basic computing needs. Would recommend.

Great but disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought dell inspiron 13 core i5 256 ssd and returned the product in two days to bestbuy. The laptop make is so great, with the aluminium body, backlit keyboard, beautiful eyecatching shape. I was actually so excited to have bought it with 650usd. But the moment i started using it, it became the most annoying thing to use, due to the curser moving anywhere on the screen opening some apps & minimizing others. Ahh.... it is nothing like i can tolerate. I couldnt watch a movie for 10 min before it started minimizing each time I tried. Screen quality is average, & the processor is so fast. The battery is what I may consider as poor to average.

Nice laptop but has screen issues..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to like this Dell laptop but there was an issue where I saw black horizontal lines across the screen when I was using Firefox. The lines disappear when I hover my mouse over it. It's annoying. I went into Best Buy and they exchanged me a new laptop. I'm using the new laptop right now and I just saw it happen again :( I think it may be a manufacture defect or it could be a faulty unit. It's disappointing but I will have to return it and find a different laptop.

Random audio issues. Pop cracking sounds
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As much as I want to love and keep this laptop, I made the right decision to return it after getting 2 replacements. Nothing but audio problems all across. Non-stop pop cracking noise very noticeable while streaming videos or while doing other functions. Unfortunately, you're out of luck dealing with Dell. They were not able to fix it. I returned it to Best Buy within the 14 days return policy period. It is frustrating dealing with issues on a brand new computer and will make you lose your hair.

Touchscreen problem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop open-box certified excellent and I loved it for the first 2.5 weeks. However, the touchscreen has since completely stopped functioning. Unfortunately, I did not purchase a geek squad protection plan and Dell Support has so far been unable to resolve this issue.

Very Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned a Dell for 6 years and loved the product. When it came time for a new laptop I knew I wanted another. I primarily use my laptop for work using remote desktop software (Citrix). From day one, the screen would not switch orientation while in tablet mode. This means no 360 screen. I attempted to troubleshoot on my own but the function to turn off the screen lock was greyed out. Then, 24 hours after purchasing the laptop, the camera stopped working and my work applications kept freezing. I called Dell Support and was advised these are both software problems and I did not have a software warranty (only a warranty for hardware). Very frustrating considering this is a brand new laptop. I will be returning it today.

Touchpad issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for my wife. I really wanted to like it as it had a great screen, suitable specs for daily tasks, and a nice form factor. Unfortunately, the touchpad just isn't very good. Dell opted not to include native drivers and instead lean on Microsoft's default Windows 10 touchpad software. It just isn't very good. It was jittery, freezing, and occasionally the cursor would outright disappear. I attempted to update all drivers using Dell's support page and a restore. Neither helped. Maybe I received a faulty unit, but I find this hard to believe since the touchpad behaved correctly in the BIOS screen. This was a deal breaker and it went back to the store for a different laptop.

Slick looking piece of junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It looks really slick and stylish but has several problems: 1) Touchpad is not uniformly sensitive. It gets less sensitive the farther you get from the center. What's the point of that? 2) Random static noises when playing clips. 3) Plugging power and in and out causes static noises for a few seconds like an old transistor radio. 4) Various problem with very mainstream sites, like Yahoo, Yelp, Consumer Reports not working correctly or being very slow. 5) Screen goes black for 15 or more seconds when switching users. I bought this based on the good reviews of more expensive XPS 13. Big mistakes, I should've stuck with Acer/Lenovo/Asus. They know what they're doing.

Pixels on screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Computer is decent, but there are pixels being left all over the screen when I'm on the internet and it seems to be getting worse. I should have taken the computer back right away. Not sure why this is happening on a brand new computer?

LCD Screen Bleed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dell's Inspiron lineup suffers from horrible back light LCD bleeding. This is when you start to see a white/yellowish hue dominating the edges of the screen, when viewing dark pictures/videos. The new Inspiron refreshes are no different. Please stay away from Dell. They use cheap parts to cut costs. It shows.
