Rating this a buy, but with reservations. I used to be a loyal Dell customer, so when another brand I had developed a problem that could not be rectified, I went back to Dell. It's got great specs for the price in terms of RAM (12 GB), an SSD of decent size (512 GB), backlit keyboard, 2-in-1 (although I don't necessarily need that), a touch screen (13.3"), and portability (around 3 pounds). However, I began to have issues just a couple of weeks after purchase -- apps minimizing repeatedly in the middle of work, cursor jumping to invoke the start menu or desktop on its own. I brought it in, and it's likely the touchscreen is defective. I'm hoping the problem can be solved, since otherwise I like the machine and what I got for the price (about $800). Aside from its behavior, the screen is clear and crisp, the keyboard light to the touch but nice for a touch typist (and with black keys the backlighting is very effective), the SSD a decent capacity for a reasonable price (finally). While I hoped for a lighter machine with the SSD, the 2-in-1 requirements bump up the weight, but it's still quite acceptable for a machine that has to travel a lot. I would love to rate the machine higher, but that depends on whether it can be fixed or not.

Nice computer, reasonably fast, everything pretty standard for its class. But, in fact, the track pad doesn't work. Now I see that this has been a known defect for a long time, but they are still being sold! I didn't think it would matter much, as I usually use a mouse, but it actually is a problem at times (like when my mouse died). Apparently, company sees no problem in selling a defective product. Wish I had read the reviews first!

This computer meets all my needs as a teacher. I love the touch screen. The features are great. The guys at best buy were very helpful. Super happy with my purchase. !!

Runs linux like a champ, had to run update on windows partition in order to get touchscreen working though. Other than that, great light laptop with some horsepower.

Got it as a gift for my fiance, he loves it and he has used it daily for the last year and a half without a single complaint. Runs smoothly every single time.

The speed and the quality are better than some other brands I have seen. For the price that it is set I think this is highly worth it.

Got this to replace my eight year old Gateway and so far, so good. I really like the backlit keyboard and the solid state hard drive.

This thin and lightweight laptop does everything I need and so much more! It has so many features that make my job easier. The more I use it, the more I love It.

My 1st Dell. Very impressive. Light weight, great features. Very quick, quiet. Love how the keyboard lights up upon touching, and turns off after a few seconds.

Good powerful and feature rich laptop. Amazing for writing and running complex programs.

Very user friendly and great for someone who does not have a lot of computer experience. Reasonably priced. Great safety features if you need those for work.

This is an excellent laptop for what I need it for. Excellent speeds and graphics, perfect laptop for daily use.

So far the device is good. I am going to install heavy software and use it and hopefully it will work the same since it is SSD

This 2-in-1 laptop is a bargain! It has a great processor, fast SSD, 2-in-1 capability, portability at 13.3", and good (not great) keyboard! The biggest drawback I found is definitely the screen brightness but given all the other excellent features, I'm willing to overlook the dull/dim screen especially given the price. If you are a college student and looking for something with good power and capability, then I highly recommend looking into this particular model.

I would highly recommend this laptop to friend and family. Very quick and responsive. A great alternative for those looking at Dell's xps line of laptops.

GREAT LAPTOP, VERY FAST, EXCELLENT RESOLUTION! THE 512GB SSD HAS AMPLE STORAGE AND BOOTS UP QUICKLY. I HAVE OWNED MANY LAPTOPS AND THIS IS THE BEST EVER!

I needed to replace my previous computer that was having issues so I started looking at the 2 in 1 computers. Really liked the specs on this one but it was a bit more then I wanted to pay. My local store found an open box at a great price so I took it. Found it wasn't the computer in the box so I took it back and they worked with me to fix it. Once I got the right computer I was impressed. There are a couple things I need to get used to in the switch to a touchscreen but I have no complaints.

I chose this 2 in 1 laptop for my college computer. It is fast and is perfect for what I need it for. I would recommend this for any new college student.

Bought this to replace an aging macbook air but having mixed feelings about it. I love being able to flip the screen 360 degrees and I love the touchscreen capabilities. What bothers me is mouse touchpad. My finger kind of sticks to it when I'm trying to move the mouse, making the whole experience of using the laptop really frustrating for me. Scrolling with two fingers also feels really choppy.

Screen size works fine was concerned it as to small... Dell inspiron computer works great as did the ones I purchased over the years.. Nice machine!!
