Mighty Mouse
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Caveat: we have owned this machine for 9 hours. I was concerned about the windows 10 OS and obtaining MS office suite (for word, excel, and PowerPoint). As another reviewer stated, there are few instructions included, but the setup process was simple and quick with a bit of hand-holding and a lot of frightening requests to relinquish all privacy in the name of user convenience. I have not figured out how to get Office Suite without negating the great sale (-$100 just randomly and -$150 for signing up for the college student discount that is unlikely to be verified: I'm happy with the $750 total for the i7 12GB 512GB SSD). It comes with a trial month, so I'll procrastinate on it but I do loathe the idea of paying a yearly subscription. Now that I have addressed all of my concerns, I'll keep it positive. I hate track pads (this is me being positive) BUT the one on this device was almost good enough to prevent me from borrowing my desktop mouse. Other pros coming from a guy whose last laptop was purchased in 2003: it seems quiet, cool, and light. It has been on for about 8 hours and unplugged for 4 and it still won't singe my leg hair like my first inspiron laptop did. I have no idea how the touch screen is, as I only touched it once... seemed nice. The machine is a laptop that adds some versatility with touch and ?swivel? It also seems like about the quickest computer I have used. The negative reviews seem to generally be associated with occasional manufacturing flaws, not design or typical performance. One recommendation I have is to get a 16GB flash drive to designate as a recovery drive. I had a spare 8GB laying around but I'm not sure it was successful due to the lack of size; you'd have to ask my wife about that, though. No, seriously, she didn't tell me when it finished the recovery setup process. She has been glued to it ever since. I think she likes it too.

Build quality is good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dell SSD's are slower than other competitors. But for daily use it is not visible at all.

Amazing Laptop, Unbeatable Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop using the college student deal for an additional $150 off and I've gotta say, you won't find a laptop this high-quality for the price on this website. Most laptops with these specs cost at least $1000-$1200. Makes you worry that the laptop must not have good build quality or something, but actually, the build quality is great too! The silver finish looks amazing and the keyboard looks and feels super nice. If you're worried about the hard drive size, buy an external because the speed of the SSD is definitely worth it! The laptop starts up and loads completely in seconds. The facial recognition also works flawlessly. The hinges feel sturdy and the tablet mode works great! This laptop also has 12gb of DDR4 ram, which is ahead of others in this price range which use the older, DDR3. the 6th gen i7 chip is amazing. Graphics are actually pretty good for casual gaming, I was extremely surprised! Was able to run some games on high settings, whereas I couldn't even run most games on low settings with my old laptop. I also use apps like Photoshop, recording software, and other programs while having a few internet tabs open and it performs everything flawlessly while staying super quiet and it doesn't even get hot! Plus it's super portable and lightweight which is a big help in college. After demoing some other laptops in this price range (specifically the Lenovo Yoga) I can proudly say this was the best choice.

Dude Don't Get a Dell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So after only a few months of have this laptop, I am now getting an error that says "no hard drive installed". On occasion, the machine will boot and work for a few minutes, but then crashes with "critical process failed" error. Dell troubleshooting over the phone was worthless. They want me to send them my laptop for 2 weeks while they try to figure it out. I asked them to send me a replacement machine, but they said they wouldn't because I didn't buy direct. Lesson learned - never buying another Dell. Also lost most respect from Best Buy for not stepping in after I contacted them.

Great - for a few months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After less than a year, the computer is running so hot that it burns my fingers to type on the keyboard. But I've been told that that's a "feature" of the case, and expected. Even though it was fine for the first 7 months I owned it. Avoid Dell.

Fastest computer I've owned.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great machine! Lightning-fast, super-quiet, nice screen, simple/sleek looking silver. It was running slow the first day or 2, thought it might be a bad unit - then did some research/self-diagnosis and found out my anti-virus was the culprit. Now that that's been worked out, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I've heard mixed things about Dell these days, however the last 2 laptops I've purchased have been this brand, and they were (are) both super computers. I've only had it about 4 days, but so far, highly recommended!

Spend more money and get something better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer after owning a Apple. I wasn't a fan and wanted to go back to a PC. This computer is cheap and I was attracted to the price, but I wish I would have spent more and got something better. It makes a loud noise when running multiple programs or when it has been on for a long time. The mouse is awful. Always gets stuck and have to press it multiple times to get it unstuck. Would not buy this again and will have to buy something new very soon.

Terrible computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sadly, this computer has been a nightmare. I had prior issues with the keyboard when it would move the cursor all on it's own. They got the computer exchanged for me but now this one will say it's connected to the internet but no internet connection is actually established. Returning again. I gave it a shot, even two, but this computer just isn't worth it

Looks like a good deal, but it's not
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Machine was full of defects. Started mixing configuration, and ended with different causes of BSOD. Dell support tried dilligently to fix it, even installing a fresh new win image on it, but that didn't help. Although passed all hw tests, seemed that this configuration could not cope with win 10. After llosing a lot of time trying to fix it, ended changing it for another Brand. Stay away from this model.

Issues with Ghost Touches
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Previous Dell products have been good but this 2-1 Tablet developed after 20days something called 'Ghost Touches' which apparently is an issue during manufacture of the digitizer I the screen. The screen has phantom touches which activated the Windows menu up to 30 times/minutes. You can't get anything done! Returned it and selected a Levano Yoga.

after 30 days, touch screen not working
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 30 days the touch screen is not working properly. I`m extremely sad with this situation. I found hundreds of complaints in specialized forums about issues with DELL's touch screen. Unfortunately the great majority reports that Dell does not assume the problem and do not want to replace the part under warranty.
