I brought this laptop 3 weeks back from a bestbuy store. I was initially confused between hp spectre 2 in 1 and this laptop. Dell was almost $200 cheaper and offered a better configuration with its DDR4 RAM (2000 Mhz) and 512 SSD. Pros : Superb performance. It's fast and can handle anything I throw at it. I am a student with very heavy software usage ( SPSS, Tableau, XL, Photoshop etc) Cons : Aux cracking noise - Can be solved by upgrading the driver. N it's not that big a problem anyways Display Brightness is very average Windows 10 is still buggy Touch Screen sometimes unresponsive - I've noticed this happens when the CPU temp is above average operating temp. Goes back to normal after a 10 min shut down. Overall I'm very satisfied because this handles everything very efficiently and the touch screen non responsiveness doesn't stop me from doing my work. I can always use the trackpad and keyboard that time.

I purchased two of the same laptop. First one had dead pixels I gave back. Second one had a battery problem. Battery was draining in 3 hours. After two attempts buying this computer I gave up. I bought another brand and I am happy now. I cannot recommend Dell anymore.

I had to return this computer in less than a week. I was told by geek squad to bring it back. I really liked this computer except for not being able to stay connected. When I returned it, I was told this particular computer was having wifi problems in all of them.

Just as the title. Touch screen sucks. It won't response only after 2 month. I think I would just live with it since I don't use it very often. Very disappointing.

With an i7 processor you're gonna get warmth and a bit of fan noise but this shouldn't be a concern especially the slight warmth. Windows 10 Anniversary update installed through MS and BIOS update through Dell app laptop is working fine. Best Buys price on this machine was lower then any others at $849 and managed to get one Geek Squad Certified Open Box for a great price. This PC is a combination of more RAM and SSD storage then comparable more expensive laptops. I haven't experienced any problem with sound quality and say it's pretty good using MAXX audio with bottom mounted speakers. Lastly; the hinges on this laptop are pretty stiff and leads one to feel secure that they'll remain secure in the future. It's a great machine, nice brushed metal finish, large touch pad, great looking screen and perfect for my needs going forward.

With the sale price and college discount, this is a powerful computer for a great price. Super fast, quiet, and with plenty of space (compared to most laptop sdds), I'm very happy. A few minor issues: the power led doesn't work and the side volume button sticks a bit. It's also a bit heavier than I expected and it's almost all-silver frame isn't the most attractive. However, these are minor issues. Really happy with the power this laptop packs for the price.

I haven't purchased a new laptop since 2010 and things have really changed! I tried to buy a Microsoft Surface but the prices were out of my range, but I wanted the features the Surface had and then I found the Dell and it was on sale for three days and I received an extra discount since I am registered with our local community college. This is the equivalent machine with great sound, Bluetooth,12gigs of ram, 512 ssd, 6th gen i7 and great 13.3 touch screen. After two days of getting myself reorganized I couldn't be happier and it saved me nearly $2,000! Two thumbs up for Dell!

I have this laptop for a little over a month. I absolutely love it. Its light weight. Great for traveling. It does not get hot. I used it for the whole afternoon, on the internet, without plugging it in and the battery did not die on me. The gaphic is great for watching a movie. Sterero. The only thing is it only has 1x USB3 and 1x USB2 slote. So i bought a USB3 spliter and a DVD drive. Like most new computer does not equipe with a disk drive anymore. I also love the blacklite keyboard, touch screen, and Window10 face regonition log on. Its pretty awesome.

I had plan d on purchasing a similar product..till saw this on add..An I7 processor, 12gb of ram and a 512gb ssd..$200 below original price..Just could nt pass it up..Sound is much better than a Lenovo I had previously and my current 17" Toshiba..Read that the screen was nt very bright..not the case here..Seems that current one has 2 usb3 and a usb2 port..the one I got had a usb c port..which is ok..but would have preferred an additional usb3 port..

I bought this to replace my old laptop. At this price range, most laptops didn't offer a solid state hard drive of this size. The build is sturdy and the RAM can actually be upgraded. The light up keys are a nice touch but the trackpad will take some getting used to. The touchscreen is responsive and the tablet mode, with Windows 10, is intuitive. No hiccups whatsoever when running multiple applications. I Highly recommend this product.

i5 or i7 is a great laptop: and upgradeable!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased the i5 version of this laptop a week ago and just happened to check prices when I saw the i7 for only $50 more with 4GB more memory and double the SSD. Do I need it??? Nope...but the temptation was too great to pass up for the small price increase. Having said that....the price has gone back up again...so keep your eye on pricing, the 7th generation CPUs are coming out and 6th generation hardware will continue to drop. The 7th gen i7 CPUs have lower power requirements and support 4K. Neither are a requirement for my purposes. The 13.3" is a perfect format for this 2 in 1. I tried a 15.6", but it felt wobbly when I converted to tablet mode. And, if you travel by air, it fits better. Speccy reveals that the processor is a Skylake (6th gen) ultra low power processor. Memory is DDR4 which is a plus. There are two memory slots; #1 has 8GB and #2 4GB. The former is manufactured by Hyundai, the latter by Samsung. Your laptop may vary as manufacturers are constantly changing to get best price points on components. The SSD is an SK hynix SC308, a moderately performing SSD, typical of what will be standard on most laptops at this price point. The manufacturer's warranty on the drive is 5 years...don't know if that applies to an OEM install. The i5 has a SanDisk Z400s, similar in performance. SKHynix is a relative newcomer to the SSD market and their latest SL series SSDs are top rated. They have been manufacturing quality memory for years as an OEM. Like memory, your unit may have a different manufacturer. One note on the SC308. An internet search on the drive comes up pretty sparse and a single online provider has them for sale. The SL308 is top rated. I've emailed SKHynix for clarification since the SC308 is not listed on their US web site. The SSD is not a speed demon by standards of more expensive models, but it is at least 5 times faster than a hard drive according to reviews. Good news is that the memory and SSD can be accessed with some moderate effort, so replacements and upgrades are possible. Screen and graphics are clear and crisp, with good depth so that shadows on the desktop shortcuts text display clearly. Touchscreen is acceptably responsive without any "dead" spots so far. Shortly after configuring the system and accepting Dell's request to run their software, a BIOS update was downloaded and installed without problem. System switches between tablet and laptop mode smoothly. CPU runs cool, at least for my applications. For example, you will need to manually upgrade to Win 10 Anniversary edition. CPU did not significantly heat up during that intensive process. Two minor irritations: the touch pad is extremely sensitive and the power button is located so that if you pick up the unit, you may press it most of the time. Fortunately, there is a delayed response built in to the power switch so it is more irritating than a functional problem. I haven't found an adjustment to the touchpad sensitivity yet. The "Hello" Win 10 function is interesting and works well with facial recognition. So far, it only recognizes me....not any friends or relatives. However, it has failed to recognize me twice and the backup pin works fine. Biometrics are not highly secure like passwords, so use at your own risk. I'm in a low risk environment with this laptop. Media streaming is good and sound quality is good overall. It's not concert hall quality...but what laptop is? Haven't done any serious testing on battery life, but Windows reports it should have 6 hours or so of use. Keyboard is well laid out with just enough response and play to allow rapid typing. Having said all this....the i5 version of this laptop is excellent as well unless you need the i7 hyperthreading and power with some graphics and/or processing intensive applications. I would be happy with either. I do expect prices on the 6th gen PCs to continue dropping, especially over the holidays, but not much more than what I paid for this i7 configuration.

I'm a Mac user to start off. I bought this laptop for my business because of software limitations and I didn't want to run parallels on my MacBook Pro. I have to say I'm extremely impressed by the speed of this PC. I mainly use this for Adobe Creative suite, and Janome Digitizer V5. This is the first laptop I've even been able to compare to my MacBook Pro. Yesterday I bought a HP envy M6... Lets just say the HP envy was the worst performance of a brand new PC I have ever experience plus all the junk HP put on it.Lets just say I returned it the next day. If your looking for a awesome PC laptop for Under $1000 look no further.(Still like my MacBook Pro better =D)

I would recommend it to anyone and especially for incoming college students planning on studying some sort of engineering. Super smooth and very responsive, all in all it is a top notch 2 in 1 computer. Thanks Dell and Best Buy!

    Almost a home run...

I did quite a bit of research on this machine before I bought it. Honestly - the SSD, the RAM, the resolution is great for an ultra-book for this size. The machine is beautiful to look at and even more beautiful to use. It's very fast and gets things done. It does have one problem - so called "ghost touching" - where the apps can suddenly close and/or minimize for no reason and after not touching the screen at all. I have gone through three trips to Best Buy to get another machine with exactly the same ghost following me home and touching my screen without my permission. I finally decided to accept the fact that I would have to turn off the touch screen (in the control panel) and then the problem will go away. Try it if you're suffering from the same issue. All in all a great machine - I was willing to live with the touch issues because I was otherwise in love with the machine - hence the 4 stars. Otherwise, a great machine at a great price!

    Powerful Yet Erratic

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was expecting more from Dell with this 2 in 1 system. I've been a Dell user since back in the PCs Limited days. Though this has stellar specifications, the erratic behavior (yes, I downloaded all the new updates and drivers) is rather disappointing. I've been using this a bit over a week now and find that for no apparent reason, it will change configuration settings. I'm a Windows 10 user on other systems and non of these other systems perform like this, so I have to point to the Dell drivers, firmware and/or hardware. If you can tolerate this and do not mind the frequent settings changes, then this is a modestly heavy, 2 in 1, that has great performance. One other aspect of this system that disappointed me is the now known issue that the tablet will not work with an active stylus. This unit only works with passive stylus pens. I would consider this a VALUE based 2 in 1 that has some issues that need to be tolerated if you want these performance specifications. This is why I give it 3 star review. I have to admit that I am torn between returning this system or keeping it and living with the nuances that I have discovered in its first week of usage. All I can say is be aware of the issues and make an informed decision (e.g. caveat emptor)
