Performance is ok, but bad out weighs the good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The good - Laptop is fast, screen is bright and pretty clear. The bad - the power button is on the right side of the laptop housing, meaning every time you go to move it on your desk or lap, you hit the button and it immediately turns off. Terrible design to place it there.. Next big issue is the touch screen - it simply stops working. It worked for one day for me, then quit, then magically started working again the next day. Then a Windows 10 update killed it again. Then it worked for 3 weeks. Now it is dead again. Reinstalled drivers, followed all their troubleshooting steps, searched for hours and tried every little thing. Only thing dell support says is to format and reinstall everything, which is ridiculous...

Great performance for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife needed a laptop and using a back-to-school coupon on top of the sale price, the performance of this laptop could not be beat. The SSD is outstanding for performing day-to-day tasks and the start up is excellent. We are very happy with this purchase.

Love this light weight, SSD LAPTOP
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Dell Inspiron laptop for my college bound son, after he returned HP equivalent due to heating issue. He is extremely happy getting 512gb SSD and facial recognition at the time saving few $100s. It's few ounces heavier than other laptops but not much.

Must have got a dud
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I see that most people really like this computer.....not me! Maybe I just got the dud. I am a Principal Software Test Engineer by trade. I purchase a new computer typically once a year (laptop one year, desktop the next). I purchased this computer for the solid state drive, being an I7 and it just looked like a great value. For my experience, I feel like this is the worst computer that I have ever had. The speed is great. Boots quick and responds fast. However, every 20-30 seconds or so, it thinks someone is touching the screen and interrupts what I am trying to do, popping up the windows menu. I had to turn off the touch screen just so I could accomplish what I was trying to do. Furthermore, even with the touch screen turned off, if I use a PowerPoint presentation, I can only use it in presenter mode for about 6-10 minutes before I am interrupted with a popup that quickly comes up and disappears, taking me out of presenter mode. These are just a couple of horrible performance issues that I am having. Maybe I just got a dud....I hope so. I have always been a fan of Dell and of Pentium chip set. I have NEVER considered moving to Apple......until now.

It's ok
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn't say that I was expecting more when I bought it, it looks fine, But when you rotate it for using it as a tablet, it kinda looks weird, and when you want to scroll down the pages sometimes it doesn't work properly and honestly when you compare it to MacBook you're going to feel disappointed, especially because of its weight, but well it's half price of a MacBook Pro with the same features, so you could call it a good deal

Sleek & Compact
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sleek, stainless steel look and compact laptop. Quite fast because of the Core i7 processor and solid state drive. However, I believe that the graphics card needs to be upgraded or redesigned to compliment all the positive attributes of the laptop

Had to Return:(
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was super excited about this laptop because the deal was great and the features were amazing! It's very professional looking and light. Dell is supposed to be a great brand and it had so many cool features. The headphone crackling noise some other reviews talk about really isn't that bad. It was working kind of slow when I first started using it but I disregarded that because my wi-fi isn't all that fast. Within the second day of using it, it had already froze a few times, then within a few days it started getting those colorful white lines every once in awhile ussually when it would freeze. None of this annoyed me enough to stop wanting it, until the touch screen complately stopped working just 2 weeks after getting it! I really wanted to like that laptop and I hoped that I just got the one defective one, but upon reading other reviews I see I'm not the only one with these issues. I ended up returning it. :( Props to best buy for being super nice and helpful with their no hassle returns though. Replacing it with a Lenovo and hoping for the best.

Thought It Would Be Great By The Two 5 Star Rating
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it home and found nothing but a little quick start sheet which told nothing about the laptop. Had to figure everything before I could get on line to download a manual. All seemed to be going well until I plugged in a pair of 2.1 speakers and started hearing a loud popping noise. Then I plugged in a pair of headphones and same popping noise. I gave it some time but it never went away. I really wanted to like it, but it was not to be. I returned it the next day. I have to say it was no hassle during the return process.

Technical Flaw in Screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop 10 days ago and found it had Charger problem then got replacement laptop from BESTBUY, but next day I realized it was automatically minimizing and closing my applications. I installed all the updates and patches from DELL and Windows but issue wasn't fixed. Bestbuy replaced with 3rd similar Brand New Laptop, and now on even with this I have started facing similar issue of applications being minimized. Spoke with DELL support but they couldn't help and asked me to get a replacement laptop. they also infoemed their SW support may have answer. Anyway it has wasted a lot of my time in troubleshooting and now will be returning this Laptop and won't by DELL laptops anymore,

Laptop turns off when unplug AC adapter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought an open box geek squad certified one of this model. Since the time I bought this I was using the laptop with the power cord connected always. When I had to take it out, I unplugged the power cord from the laptop, this laptop turns off abruptly. I could turn it on when with the power adapted connected again. I am not sure what is the problem? Could any one help me what to do next as it is just past the 15 days of best buy return schedule.

Ethernet port is missing !!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not realize that this laptop has no ethernet port. I assumed it is going to be there on such a high end laptop. This means, if you are in a area where wify connection is poor ( due to bad router), you can not use wired connection.
