    Great Laptop for the Money

I have been using this laptop for about a week and bought it mainly for the capability and the size. I travel a good bit and it is easy to use on a plane. So far so good, the only thing I don't like is the hard drive is a bit noisy.

    Gets TOO Hot

Gets SOOO hot I could fry an egg on the back. It's been only a few weeks of use - and I know it is going to crash soon with this type of heat. I have used it only a few hours a week and already it is problematic. Also not as fast as I expected. Not worth $800 bucks. Maybe ok for $450 or so

    Outstanding...great value at this price!

Ignore the few bad reviews -- this is a great laptop. Fast, versatile and easy to navigate with windows 10. Outstanding construction and with an i7 processor...whaaaat? Only wish it came with a SSD drive, but I can remedy that!

    sparking noise

laptop configuration was really appealing. it is light weight and 1TB disk space is a sweet deal with core i7. this product has no rivals with respect to Hard disk space.Decided to buy it. however it came with a disturbing noise that probably comes from the cooling fan. feels like some sparks inside the keyboard. thought may be i would get used to it. then again i am almost paying 1G for this. so i expect a neat thing. searched and found other people are also having the noise issue. so returned it and might wait a while for an improved product.

Good for traveling, didn't live up to expectations

Okay I bought this laptop for school and I thought it seemed great in the store. Got it home, love the touch screen. Here are my issues with it. The text clarity is pretty bad, in comparison to my 4 year old ASUS a53s and even my iphone 5. The brightness is also terrible and I'm not sure how to fix it, I have tried calibrating the color to no avail. When I open the laptop it is nice and bright and after awhile it dims and says it is at full brightness, also has a greenish hue. I turn the light on my iphone 5 all the way up and hold it next to this computer's screen and my phone is about 10 times brighter. I tried streaming a movie to and the picture quality isn't anything to rave about. For this price I was expecting much more and I'm pretty sure I will be returning. Lenthy review but worth noting.

    Worst charger ever

I bought one this April, then the charger started to have problem like my laptop hardly can be charged since July. It finally cannot be used and I brought it to the department store of bestbuy last month to replace. I was told it was covered by the warranty and needed to send it back to Toronto and hopefully I can receive a new charge within 3-4 weeks. I have been waited for 5 months until today. And I called the store, all I was told is that this cannot be replaced and I have to buy a new one from other places or even Amazon! Because they never have this model of charger in the store! Fine, I can pay to buy a new charger, although the I have spent 1000 dollars to get this laptop. But can't you call to tell me so I don't have to wait for such a long time ????? Really upset me! Very inconvenient for me. I could spent this amount of money to buy a Mac rather than Dell!

Good for a few months... now? Not so much.

Got this laptop last april, after reviewing quite a few other options. Worked great for about 6 months. But by the end of 2015, i noticed it wouldnt charge sometimes. The problem got progressively worse, and after changing a few expensive dell chargers, checking the batterys health and restoring my laptop at least twice, it has turned into a desktop essentially. It dies upon being plugged out. The problem was fixed a few times with different troubleshoots, so the cause is still a mystery. Will be sending it back this week...

    DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER

    Posted .

This has been the most dissThis has literally been the most disappointing purchase I have ever made from Best Buy. Based on specs alone this computer seems to be perfectly functional if not exceptionally functional however during actual use this computer can barely even open up a movie from itunes without stalling out for several minutes. I wish that I was exaggerating but unfortunately I am not. I bought this computer as a birthday present to myself with the plan to use it to store movies for viewing during business trips. This computer cannot even function in that capacity I am sad to say. There is a lag with every seemingly minute function that you could possibly access with on this computer. I have never been more disappointed in my life with a purchase. I am absolutely shocked to see that this “computer” has a single positive review, I have given it several months of use and have finally given up on it. If you want a computer that makes your heart begin to race immediately upon use due to extreme annoyance and frustration than this computer is for you. Otherwise buy any other computer. This as an absolutely honest review. I am stuck with this thing but please don’t put yourself in the same position. This computer is literally 100x more useless than you could ever imagine and I can’t help but to think that all of these reviews are BS, dead serious everybody.

Bad wireless driver and won't connect to WIFI

    Posted .

I had high hopes for this laptop and bought one at my local store. While setting up the device, it asked me to set up WIFI so it can download the latest drivers for the machine...and that's when the problems start. It simply won't connect to my router. I thought it might be a problem with my wifi adaptor on the laptop, so I went back to BestBuy store and exchanged it to a new one. This second machine had the exact same problem as the first one. I then searched on Google and it appears that this is not an isolated case with Dell Inspiron laptops. There have been reports of people not being able to connect to Wifi on their brand new Inspiron latops. I'm not going to waste my time downloading the latest wireless driver from Dell website (using a different PC) and then copy the file over to this new laptop and see if it solves the problem. I did not spend $900 on a laptop and then having to spend my time trying fix the problem that the manufacturer knew all along and did nothing about it. So, I'm returning the replacement machine and get my money refunded. This lack of quality is simply not acceptable in this day and age.

    What a disappointment

The specs on this laptop and the reviews looked great. The price was also great. However, the software on this computer is a disaster. The laptop has problems with the WiFi disconnecting, and it won't be available until after restarting the computer. The sound from the internal speakers fades in and out. I went to Best Buy and exchanged it, only to have the exact same problems. I spent hours on the phone with Dell and it didn't help. Eventually I fixed it by re-installing loads of drivers. The battery isn't very impressive, I only get about 4 hours out of it with average use. My brother got the same laptop but with the i5 process and had the same problems. I don't know how Dell has such big software issues.

    I HATE THIS COMPUTER

The touchpad is way too sensitive and deletes my work with a swipe that I don't even know I'm doing. No recovery is possible. I've had lengthy emails deleted and the time wasted is incredible. I've always purchased HP's and wish I had purchased another HP. I would gladly give someone this piece of junk for half of what I paid for it just 3 months ago. As I'm writing this text, the cursor is jumping all over the place and inserting words into lines previously written, which I have to delete and put the cursor back into place. When I called Dell for assistance, they wanted to charge me hundreds of dollars to 'attempt' to fix the problem. I'm going back to HP.
