I'm happy with my new Dell computer. I wish the plug was on the other side, but that's my own opinion. I did turn off the touch screen feature. It doesn't work well for my bad shoulder as reaching to touch the screen several times when I'm online is painful for me. However, my wireless mouse works great. My first computer 20 years ago was a Dell, and I am glad that I've gone back to a Dell again.

For the sake of "full disclosure" I have to admit that I am a decades-old DELL computer fan, so I can’t review this laptop with respect to any other brand. And, I feel that any customer-review only makes sense knowing how the customer uses the product. With that said, my primary use for this laptop is for productivity purposes (internet, managing personal finances, graphics design, photo/video editing, email, and some media streaming). I otherwise am not a gamer, so I have no insight how this performs for gaming purposes. I also use it primarily connected to a monitor as a desktop unit, only on occasion on its own as a laptop, or the alternative to a tablet (mainly when using it for reading Kindle on those occasions). And, given this makes the fourth Inspiron I have owned (this replacing a four year old 13" 2-in-1) my comments are more suited for an Inspiron-user such as myself. There are plenty of reviews out there (here and on Your Tube) that can better address the tech comparisons with other units, so I'll defer to those. This Inspiron 2-in-1 14" easily handles everything I need a PC to do. And while this model has the same SSD and memory as my previous model, it surprisingly seems to function faster, especially when booting up. One of the major differences I noticed right off from the previous model is that Dell has managed to correct something that existed on the previous 13" model. For whatever reason, that version, when put into sleep mode, would not "wake up". You had to either power-off the unit or force it to shut down if it went into sleep more. I discovered that right after buying that model and seeing so many complaints posted online about that issue. BUT … this 14" 2-in-1 powers up from sleep mode immediately. A total game changer for me. There is a lot of flexibility to personalize some features that may be "cutting edge", but can be annoying if you don't really need/use them. It does have the fingerprint power functionality for quickly signing in, BUT, you can disable that if you like, as with other features. Since the unit is very fast signing in, entering a passcode or facial recognition is equally fast, so no problems if you run into issues getting a good reading of your fingerprint as I did. They also installed a camera lens cover for security purposes. No need to do a redneck hack putting a piece of tape of the lens as I had to with the previous model. Speaking of the camera, the picture quality on this version is an improvement from my previous model. And, as before, I personally love having the keyboard backlit for those times I actually use the unit as a laptop away from the desk. Along with that, the touch screen is very responsive, again for those times I use it as a tablet-alternative away from the desk. Overall, I am a fan of the Inspiron 2-in-1 series. For the non-gamer, this is probably the most versatile laptop on the market, and at a great price. You really can use this one laptop for everything. Pair it with a monitor (I'm using a 35" curved monitor), an external keyboard/mouse, a stylus and you'll be set, whether working at a desk, or taking advantage of the mobility to use it anywhere as either a laptop or tablet.
