Great laptop - but poor webcam quality

I must have watched the wrong YouTube review. The laptop was fast, seemed to work well, and had a great screen and fingerprint reader. The webcam on the laptop is very poor quality. Could not even see me in my office due to a nearby window. Use video conferencing a lot as I work from home. My other laptops, even my old 2016 model has a better webcam. Pros - Fast and decent value Fingerprint reader is excellent Screen was a nice aspect ratio. Trackpad is good - better than most windows laptops. Cons Webcam - It is very poor quality. Tried updating settings so I could use the laptop, but since I do a lot of video conferences I needed a better camera. Fan noise - It likes to ramp up the fans when even sitting at idle.. and they are loud enough for people on conferences to hear. Battery life was abysmal - 2-3 hours at most doing normal tasks like web browsing, etc. Open a video conference and the estimated time would go from 2-3 hours down to less than an hour. Overall - Good laptop if you don't need to use it for video conferences.

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. We are happy to hear that you like some of the features of your Dell Inspiron 7420 2-in-1 laptop but we would like to apologize for the troubles you have experienced with its poor webcam, loud fan noise, and short battery life.

To help with battery life, I have provided the steps to change the power plan to help improve the performance of your battery. I have also provided the full article, which has more options if they are needed.
Change the Power Plan:
1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
2. On the options list, click Power Options.
3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built-in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn the Battery Saver On or Off.
d) Additional settings are available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver features.

To help resolve the issue with fan noise, we recommend the following steps to run a pre-boot diagnostic test that can help.
1. Restart your Dell PC.
2. When the Dell logo appears, press the F12 key to enter the One-time Boot Menu.
3. Use the arrow keys to select Diagnostics and press Enter key on the keyboard.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts and respond appropriately to complete the diagnostics.
5. If the test fails, ensure to write down the error code and validation code.
