Multipurpose laptop at a good price point. I really like this computer even though the ram should be at least 12 or 16 gig. My understanding is the Ram is solider onto the mother board and cannot be upgraded or expanded. This laptop is pretty much buy it as is since the ram cannot be upgraded. However for my use the laptop is more than adequate and actually performs really well. Setting up the computer was pretty simple and during the setup process it installed applications that it thought I might want/need based on the setup questions. Once setup and working there is hardly any bloatware that comes preinstalled on this computer. The programs that are installed by Dell are actually pretty handy and not intrusive to the user experience. There is a 30 day trial of Mcafee, I did receive a few pop ups about my trial and when it will expire. I disabled the pop ups as they got annoying and once the trial is over, I will remove the application from the computer. One of the applications installed by Dell is called smartbyte, this application shows you available Wi-Fi networks and which ones are the best. I thought it was helpfull on my home network to see which wi-fi was the fastest and most stable. The other dell applications assist with updates, one being the BIOS. I thought was helpful instead of trying to manually download and update the BIOS on m own. The computer performs very well and is quick to load and use applications. I used Office 365 through my work account. I was able to login into Office on this PC and continue to use it as if I was at my office. I also downloaded XBox onto this laptop to try out gamming. I was able to play cloud gamming without any issues. I also downloaded a game (Dirt 5) which ran flawlessly on this computer. I thought for sure the graphics would be reduced or the game would be glitchy. I was happily surprised that it ran totally fine, and the graphics looked great! The only downside was the computer fan ran on high the whole time I was playing, and battery life took a big hit which was totally understandable. I wouldn't recommend this computer if you're a hardcore gamer, but if you like playing games every so often you totally can with this laptop. Watching movies was also very nice as the screen is HD and looks stunning. The speakers can be used at max volume without distortion and sound good enough for use. The computer also has a decent amount of space to download movies to watch on the go. Which brings me to my next point, this laptop is pretty light and can be used as tablet. The hinges for the screen are pretty strong and in laptop or tablet mode the screen stays in place with little movement. The touch screen is very responsive and was a pleasure to use unlike my last touch screen laptop. The keyboard is very easy for me to type on and is also backlight. The touchpad!!!! I love this touchpad! My last laptop the touchpad felt like an afterthought and was clunky and felt like it was going to break. This touchpad is amazing and works so well! It's very large and has the perfect sensitivity. When clicking you get a nice thunk sound/feel, and I don't feel the need to use an external mouse like I do with most laptops. The rest of the laptop is very well built and is very light. The color is lavender blue, I was thinking more purple, but the color is a very nice silvery blue. In darker settings it's a nice blue and in brighter settings its more silvery blue. I really like the way it looks as it's not a boring black or silver but is not over the top to make it stick out. The computer is also thin and pretty light to carry. This Dell laptop has two USB C ports (one is used for charging) HDMI, standard USB, Headphone jack, and a SD card slot. I think this is a generous number of ports for a laptop and can cover most user's needs. Overall I feel like this is a great laptop that is built very well and functions wonderfully. The battery life has been pretty good as well. The built in webcam is one of the best I have every used and zoom/skype images have been very clear and vivid. If you need a good solid laptop for work/school/personal/light gaming, this is the one to check out. This is an overall solid build computer that I personally enjoy using for every task!

Over the past two weeks, my laptop has crashed numerous times, and I'm not sure why. Each crash occurs when I step away for a few minutes and return to find it unresponsive. This is incredibly frustrating, especially when I'm in the middle of writing something and Microsoft fails to recover the most recent version of the file.

When received, opened, I had to do the usual set-up, and Windows / Dell updates. Be careful to maintain AC power during updates. This Dell is a 14” inch two in one with touch screen. Has 1920 X 1280 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. The screen is listed at only 250 Nits, but I found brightness very adequate, and I am using at a level of only 65% , which is certainly bright enough for indoor. The screen has good color rendition – excellent for movie and video streaming. There was only one negative - a very slight amount of light bleed around edges of screen. The processor is a Ryzen 5 7530U, with 6 cores and 12 threads. Speed is 2Ghz base, to a max of 4.5Ghz. Along with the 8Gb ram gives the computer good performance. Also a 512Gb SSD provides ample storage. Although an SD storage slot is provided for additional storage, it sticks out of the slot almost ¾ inch. Very easy to hit or damage. A micro SD slot would be a great improvement. The keyboard is backlit with 3 levels. The power key also supports a fingerprint reader. Typing is good, with good travel and response. I found typing to be a pleasure. The trackpad is quite large, responsive, and feels smooth when scrolling. Gestures also work well. Updates went smoothly, and soon it was up and running. I was very impressed how quickly this computer chewed through every day tasks. From multiple tabs open while surfing, to multiple apps open, the computer didn't seem to slow down at all. The processor / ram combination seems to work very well. Although I haven't tried yet, I believe this would be capable of running less demanding games. I have not run the battery all the way down, but after 2 hours, battery was at 80%. I would think possible to achieve nearly 8 to 10 hours battery run time – depending on brightness, apps running, etc. With only two small negatives, I find this to be an excellent choice for everyday use, light gaming, etc.

Dell Inspiron 14”, 2in1 Touch Laptop, AMD Ryzen 5 7530U, 8Gb, 512GbSSD This multipurpose Dell 2in1 computer is heading to college with our granddaughter. It’s a great mix of features, comfortable weight and feel, with a distinctive color to make this a great choice for her college years. It performs especially well, enabling users to discover various ways to use this technology tool. SETUP: Dell’s simplified, assisted setup of Windows 11 makes getting underway a breeze. We were up and running applications in minutes. For a student accustomed to a Mac, a Chromebook and now a Windows PC, having a responsive keyboard, an intuitive touchpad, as well as a screen that you only have to reach over and select, or drag or tap makes everything much easier to use. PERFORMANCE: I was testing out a new TP-Link ultra high speed router and discovered that the new Dell can take advantage of the fastest (currently Wi-Fi 6E, MU-MIMO) Wi-Fi networking protocols. Within minutes of connecting, I was uploading and downloading at 640Mbps/942Mbps speeds on our fiber-based internet. So, there is no doubt that wireless ior direct connectivity will not be an obstacle. As mentioned in SETUP, interacting with the keyboard, touchpad and screen touch were all nicely tuned to be highly responsive. The keyboard is backlit. Although it’s not included, Dell has a compatible stylus for artists and designers to use for drawing, sketching and painting. As a student, we expect that the variety of inputs as well as the overall comfort of the various 2-in-1 configurations will be important over hours of use. As expected, the SSD drive is lighting fast. It also probably contributes to the completely silent operation of the computer. SSD drives demand less power, so the extended use time we noted is a likely benefit we can expect. Power is provided by a 4 Cell, 54 Wh, integrated battery that reaches fairly full (80%) charge in 60 minutes with the Type-C power adapter. Built into the keyboard top is a nice sounding pair of speakers which are able to provide a decent sound to accompany videos or games or just music from our playlists. I’ll definitely add earbuds but if this was staying on a desk I’d still add some desktop speakers. Video conferencing is increasingly important for instruction as well as maintaining contact with family and friends. The 1080p camera combined with the screen’s 1920x1200 resolution and 250 nits display offers up an image that is easy to read and, again, comfortable for the brightest classroom or late night projects. We found entertainment was bright, contrasty and colorful. Text was was easy to read. And, of course, Windows has accessibility aids if we need larger fonts, highlighted text, or the ability to zoom in on details. SUMMARY: There is a lot to like about this nice looking Dell 2-in-1 laptop. It does so much, with so many different input tools, and manages to get it all done efficiently. It’s fast, fun and looks good. The tablet makes drawing easy, but we’ll be adding a stylus. The good selection of ports allows for expansion, connections and enhancements as needed. Very easy to Recommend.

I've been testing the Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 for about a week. Overall, I think it is an excellent value computer that has everything I would need or want, except for one thing: the RAM is not upgradable. The setup was simple. I followed the on-screen prompts for Windows, and setup was complete. The version of Windows that was installed is Windows 11 Home 64-bit. I was happy to see that the laptop did not default to Windows S-mode, and there was minimal bloatware. The construction of this laptop is impeccable. I believe the casing is made of plastic, but it feels and looks like it is aluminum. The hinges are nice and tight, so I didn't experience any screen wobble. The monitor is beautiful and has excellent color reproduction. The touch screen works great, and it has stylus support. The keyboard is fantastic. All the keys feel solid and tight. They have great travel and are backlit. The mousepad is large, centered on the laptop, and feels fantastic when using the left and right click functions. It has an excellent port selection, a decent camera (with privacy switch), and fantastic battery life. I was easily able to complete a full day's work without needing the charger. As for performance, the processor did a great job of accomplishing all the tasks I threw at it. It never got hot, and I never heard the fan spool up. However, as I mentioned earlier, the only drawback is that it only comes with 8GB of RAM. This is more than enough for most work situations and casual use. However, if you like to keep multiple Chrome tabs open or use memory-intensive programs, the RAM will dry up quickly. With that said, Dell did a fantastic job when they created this computer, and I absolutely love using it. It will perform excellently in 90% of scenarios, and I highly recommend it.

I was looking for cost effective touch screen laptop along with decent configuration and got Dell - Inspiron 14.0" 2-in-1 Touch Laptop. In the box, it came with Notebook, Power Adapter, Power Cord and documentation. It has configuration of AMD Ryzen 5 7530U processer, 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD and Windows 11 home preinstalled. The 14” FHD+ touch display is gorgeous, and the border-less visual effect minimizes distractions offering better cinema, document, and web browsing experience. The powerful AMD Ryzen 5 7530U processor handles all jobs without any issues and amazing responsiveness and ultimate performance with 6 cords and 12 threads. The 8GB Substantial high-bandwidth RAM handles the games very smoothly and photo- and video-editing applications works perfectly. The 512 GB, M.2, PCIe NVMe, SSD provides faster startup times and data access. The audio came from this laptop is excellent and Next level spatial audio with Dolby Atmos delivers exceptional audio experience from speakers. I was able to connect my phone with Inspiron’s Bluetooth speaker capabilities to stream the favorite songs and podcasts louder and clearer. The built-in camera is very crisp with an FHD resolution. Dual microphones and background noise-reducing AI make video / audio calls very efficient. The 360° hinge transforms the device into four modes: laptop, tent, stand and tablet. The battery life is great and able to work 5+ hours without charging. I was able to use this laptop for games, video calls, office work and it handles everything. It is very lightweight and easy to carry around. I highly recommend this laptop for college kids.
