Hinge malfunction within less than a year

Owned for 11 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owned this laptop for almost a year when all of a sudden, the right hinge somehow broke on its own and when I tried closing the laptop, the part of the screen near the hinge cracked (due to the hinge separating from the laptop). I treat my electronics very well and have never broke or so much as have cracked a screen on anything before, so I was really disappointed/surprised when this happened. I have yet to see if this problem is covered under the warranty, however, I am in the middle of the school year and can’t exactly go without a computer due to online homework/assignments. It was a great laptop up until this happened. I’m really disappointed about it breaking, and am now forced to use my tablet for school until I can find out whether I can get the problem fixed or buy a new laptop entirely.
