It certainly has a whole lot going for it.

I don’t care for this laptop. It didn’t have a slot for SD cards; only one USB port.

I haven’t used this laptop for long, but I just had to stop and write a review because I am so impressed! It is a beautiful looking Laptop with a very small bezel which makes the screen jump out at me. This is an 11th Gen Intel i5. The keys are backlit (if you want them to be), it has a fingerprint reader on the power key which is located in the upper right on the keyboard. Very convenient. I do find this Laptop to be a bit heavy, probably because I’ve been using a Chromebook recently. This Dell Inspiron 5000 2-in-1 Laptop is the real deal. And it is a tablet! Just push the lid back and you can use it in tent mode for drawing or writing or anything else you like or fold it all the way and you have a tablet with a virtual keyboard. This 2-in-1 has only 1 usb c port and that also serves as the charging port. This seems odd to me because there is also a normal charging port but no cord is supplied for that. It also has 2 usb-a ports, an HDMI port, a micro SD card reader slot, a headphone port. As is fairly typical nowadays, it does not have an optical drive. It does have a 512gb ssd drive but only 8gb of RAM, which is upgradable to 16. I was able to do multiple tasks all while I was “attending” a zoom meeting. During that time I didn’t experience any issues at all. And I like that the camera has a manual sliding shutter for privacy. No more post-its to cover the camera! I am loving this. Very quick to load/run programs. I highly recommend this 2-in-1 to anyone looking for a solidly built everyday Laptop/tablet. It has everything I need all in 1!

Turned up the display to the highest brightness and it’s still darker than the lowest brightness on my other laptop. Troubleshooting for 12 hours and unable to find a fix- likely going to return

Pros : -Surprisingly snappy and responsive considering the default config I have contains only 8GM of RAM. -Extremely well engineered. Feels super solid, Keyboard is excellent. Touchpad is good. -14" us the sweet spot for something that is both a tablet and a laptop -Battery life is as advertised if you're not putting an intense load on it for a significant amount of time -Fingerprint reading power button has worked flawlessly Cons: -This might be a con for me only, but I don't like that mine shipped with the usb-c version of the power adapter. There is a barrel port for charging built into the machine and only one usb-c port. I'd rather not block the only usb-c port to charge if there is an alternative. -The screen does not perform well outdoors in sunlight. One of my favorite things to do is read digital books out by the pool. It was difficult to do so with this machine which I found surprising. All in all this is a great basic machine, especially if you're looking that will fit the bill for college students going back to school that need an upgrade. Provided they only want to use it indoors.

Windows has changed and taken a lot of easy functions away, The contact list can now only be searched by person, not location, state, zip code. Bad changes.

This is a nice laptop and has all of the features you would expect. Setup is just as you would expect with any windows system. It preformed well in all office type application. It did tax the system a bit with heavy graphics games so would not record it for that. The system easily convert to a tablet with the fold over display. I thought this would be something I used a lot however the overall weight of the system meant that it seem at least 3 times as heavy as most tablets which made it a bit uncomfortable to care around. If you need a tablet I would recommend looking at something that is a pure tablet however if you need a small footprint laptop and occasionally a tablet that your not going to walk around with a lot this would be the ticket

Mouse pad stopped working after 2 months, now I have to use it in tablet mode all the time . Best buy websites are not user friendly to where I can find my warranty or speak with an associate. Im done buying anything from this store again.

First of all I love how it looks. It’s a beautiful piece of tech. This laptop computer is perfect for school or work. Extremely portable. Not too small not too big. The graphics may not be as strong but that’s something you can overlook. I’m not too sold on the 2 and 1 feature as I believe iPads are better for tablet use but it’s a good thing to have in case you need it. I had become skeptical about Dell computers but this one gets it right. Plenty of hard drive space and ram to make sure tasks gets accomplished.

This is the second Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 laptop I bought for my daughter. Both need to sent to Dell for repairing the hinges. Also one of the rubber foot was missing during the repair.

I was intrigued by the idea of a fingerprint sensor on a laptop being its the second one I've come across. My luck with these types of added layers of security always run dry when my fingers get sweaty. Low and behold, this sensor passed the test so I would like to lead with that in this review. I was excited by this fact. It looked really nice and sleek. At around 14 inches, its relatively small but in my opinion that just increases the portability factor. Small size doesn't stop this portable entertainment system. We all know laptop speakers are not the business when it comes down to enjoyment. That's why we spend a lot of money on some noteworthy headphones. It legitimately sounded like I bought speakers on the side like I've done in my illustrious laptop buying career. This was a huge bonus as I am an audiophile and need great sound. The processor is a great, not the best, just great for everyday tasks. Like paying bills, writing a school essay, or watching Netflix while holding onto the 2 in 1 like a tablet curled up to your favorite show. The processors base frequency is 2.40 GHz it can be overclocked up to 4.20 GHz but you'd have to really be able to cool it down but that's not what this was intended for. Nice to know you have that under your pocket in case you ever want to Frankenstein your laptop. But don't. Just a fun fact. The USB type-C charger actually charges the laptop faster than your average charger. I could be wrong but I've had my fair share of laptops and their perspective chargers varying from wattage. I thoroughly enjoyed the touch feature of the laptop and its ability to fold and turn into a tablet. I've got kids and this feature came in handy when it came down to education time. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to up their entertainment and work feasibly and seamlessly. Great work Dell!

It was fine until I tried to use the camera and it doesnt work. Cant get on Zoom calls. Stressful trying to deal with Dell to get this fixed too

Don't waste your money. I had to return it because standard apps wouldn't open.

Laptop had issues Had to exchange it within the first week, still recommend dell but will not buy this model again

The screen is broken for less than a year and refuses to boot. The service tag is faded dell refuses to help as well.

This 2 in 1 laptop seems to work pretty well and does what you need it to do. One thing I really like are the narrow bezels on the sides. The bezels are about 1/4" on the left and right edges and just under a 1/2" on the top. It makes the screen feel pretty big for its size. I tend to use the keyboard most of the time and I like the way the keyboard feels and responds. I do like to use the touchscreen every now and then and it responds well. I tend to use the touchscreen for scrolling and to move the curser quickly. It boots up pretty quickly, which is nice. My older computer doesn't boot up nearly as fast. The Bluetooth works well. I use my Bluetooth ear buds with it sometimes so I don't disturb others around me and it connects easily. The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the mousepad does not work as well as it should. I find that it gets stuck when pressing on the front left side where the left click should be. That is kind of annoying. Other than that everything seems to work well.

It wouldn’t turn on after 1 week of having it. I probably used it 3 times.

It has Dell Mobile Connect, simple to set up to my Android phone. Setup of the Single Sign On fingerprint reader was easy. Also easy to set Chrome as my browser default. I am not a Gamer, so this laptop is ideal for me. Still has great graphics for streaming movies. Being what one would call a techno-dinosaur, this one has a certain level of intuitiveness not normally seen in a Windows OS. Easily exported my Bitwarden files. I like that the USB port is a type C, the same as my cellphone, so if I forget my cable, I have a way to charge my phone. I have been running off the battery only for around 4 hours, and still have 71% remaining. Granted, I have not been streaming videos, so that, I'm sure will eat up the battery quicker.

Excellent for just what I need! This laptop does not disappoint.

I was concerned about the build quality given that it is a 2 in 1 machine. After unboxing, I can confirm the metal chassis, sturdy hinges, and overall fit and finish are exceptional. Highly recommended for any student or someone wanting to have a new daily driver with touch screen capabilities. battery life and usb c are awesome in this form factor.
