    Solid 2-in-1 Convertible Laptop

This laptop is a solid choice for those who want a convertible 2-in-1 laptop with touchscreen and fold-back capabilities. Out of the box is the laptop with a powerful 65-watt adaptor and instructional/informational papers. The laptop itself has a good, sturdy feel—not like the other cheap, plasticky laptops that would break or crack more easily. It has an HDMI port, 2 USB-A ports, a Micro SD reader, a headphone jack, and a USB-C port—which is used for charging. Right off the bat, I like that it uses a USB-C connection for power/charging and not a proprietary one so I can use the USB-C chargers I already have around the house, and if I happen to lose the one that came with the laptop, I can easily buy a decent cheap replacement. I hooked up an external monitor via the USB-C port and that worked well also. The hinges when opening the laptop and placing the screen in different modes such as tent mode and folding it back so it’s totally flush with the back (to use it like a tablet) are a bit stiff, but again I like that because it feels more sturdy and not too loose. The screen at 14 inches is a nice not-too-big, not-too-small size, and the images and colors are crisp, clear, and gorgeous. The touchscreen is quite responsive. The keyboard has keys with good travel and good feel when typing. I type an average of 100wpm and I can comfortably achieve that on this keyboard, which is also backlit. The backlighting can be turned off, or you can choose between two levels of brightness. It comes with a healthy 512gb of storage and 16gb of RAM, which makes this a powerful future-proof computer, especially because it also has the latest Intel 11th Generation i7 processor. I tried it out doing basic tasks such as internet surfing, online shopping, email, etc. while also doing more battery-hogging tasks such as streaming media (watching movies/tv) and the battery stood up pretty well. I really, really like that the webcam has a built-in privacy shutter, which I keep on the “closed” position most of the time and only open when necessary. There is also a fingerprint reader which works pretty much instantly to unlock the laptop instead of having to type in a password or PIN. I also prefer to use touchpads on laptops instead of a mouse, and the touchpad on this laptop is quite responsive as well. Overall, the experience on this laptop, which I utilized for both work and leisure purposes, was excellent. All programs and tasks opened and executed quickly, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and webpages/internet sites such as Netflix, Gmail, Amazon, YouTube, shopping and banking sites, etc. Wi-Fi connection was also fast and reliable. A definite recommend for those who need a Windows/PC laptop for both leisure and work.

This is an ok laptop. This is my first Windows machine. It is a bit slow with some Adobe applications and quite hard to use without a mouse. Cursor keeps disappearing and it takes a while to refresh and show up on the screen again. This doesn't happen with the mouse. Other than that, it's an ok machine. Should have been under $1000.

I have also included some steps you can take that should help with the slow performance issue.
There are several ways to help improve the performance of your computer if it is running slower than you expected it to. We'd recommend the following steps to help improve your computer's overall performance and speed:

      1. Restart your computer regularly.
      2. Run the automated tools provided in the SupportAssist Tool.
      3. Run a complete hardware diagnostic test.
      4. Scan your computer for malware.
      5. Restore your Dell computer using Windows System Restore.
      6. Reinstall Microsoft Windows.

You can read the full steps associated with each of these recommendations here: https://dell.to/3n29QjE.

Its a laptop and it's not like it is blazing fast or slices bread. It does what every other laptop does. I don't think I would game with it for example but I do use it for multiple tasks when working. The battery life seems pretty short. I only got about 2 to 2.5 hours at full screen brightness.
