The battery last many hours. Everything works perfect. Windows 11 will take a little getting used to. It continually forces you to save to One Drive instead of your hard drive. However, you can turn off One Drive

But they are not truthful when it comes to battery life. They advertise 6-8 hours but on a full charge I am lucky if i get 3 hours of battery and this is with light usage. I bought this to use for school and work but the poor battery life means I have to carry a charging brick every where I take it this is unacceptable for a brand new laptop. The touchpad is bad and overall this laptop is not worth the $900 plus price tag.

To help the battery performance, I have provided the steps to change the Power Plan for your system, along with a link to the full article should you need further information.
Change the Power Plan:
1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
2. On the options list, click Power Options.
3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.
d) Additional settings available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver feature.

Having some trouble getting use to small size, but that is an advantage when traveling. Learning to use it is tedious, why can't we have a brochure for this computer describing its peculiarities??

I wanted a touch screen and graphics to run my Cricut Design Space software and to run my Husqvarna Sewing Premium Software and this laptop does both very well. It has lots of memory for my downloads. My son an IT tech said this is what I needed.

Good size and keyboard comfortable and functional. Display ok. Camera is weak. Not as responsive or detailed as other laptops I have had. This is an issue in a "zoom" world. Laptop seems to get hung up periodically, even when just surfing the web. I am not processing enormous spreadsheets, and only have Office 365 loaded on it. I will wait till new Windows 11 before chasing this issue.

Easy set up. Nice computer

Fun to use as a tablet and draw on with the pen we purchased. We haven’t figured out how to use it for gaming. The visual isn’t moving properly. Need to find a setting to fix it.

From the initial setup, I noticed that the laptop got extremely hot and the fans would be going at full speed. Obviously, I got a faulty laptop, so I went back to Bestbuy to get it fixed. Since I had it only for a couple of days, the geek squad member recommended that I simply exchange it for a newer one. So I did that, and now I am writing this review because the new laptop they sent me still does not work! The laptop gets extremely hot, and the fans are going at full speed. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of Dell.

Thank you very much for your valued feedback. We are sorry to hear that you have come across some troubles with your Inspiron 5410 laptop because it is overheating.
To help with this issue, we would recommend making sure the BIOS is up to date on your PC. I have provided a link to the Drivers and Downloads page so you can check for and do any applicable updates. Dell has also released an Intel Power Management Utility to help with the overheating that you may be experiencing on your computer. For this package to take effect, the system power plan must be set to Balanced under the Additional Power Settings. Also, the Power Mode option that is displayed when you click the battery icon, should be set to Better Performance. This package only takes effect on AC power and not on battery power. The Intel Power Management Utility can be found here - http://dell.to/3tStRgX.

First New Computer In Seven Years

Still learning about it and trying to get used to Windows 11. One thing I didn't notice at the time of purchase is that it didn't have the number pad. I am used to the number pad. I miss that.

The resolution is terrific. It replaced an Asus, which had many processes running in the background. The Dell does not, which helps enduring performance.
