Don't buy for business, IT WILL DISAPPOINT!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never write reviews; however, this laptop has created nothing but erratic problems for my business. It was purchased for my real estate and small photography business because of the dedicated graphics, touch screen and pen attachment. Besides the touch screen, it's mediocre at best. Touchpad/mouse - The touch pad is HORRIBLE!!! Even when I connect a mouse, it becomes unresponsive and slow at times. I've changed touchpad settings, mouse settings, ran firmware and all other updates and the touchpad is still USELESS!! I've even changed my mouse several times to no avail. Display - Dead pixels after 2 weeks of use, it happens, I overlooked that. The screen erratically works when the lid is opened (sometimes black screen but the keypad is lit, sometimes the image is upside down and won't recalibrate to upright position). Fan - The fan runs nonstop and loudly. It runs hot even with the fan running. I had to get a laptop cooler and even that doesn't keep it cool. Battery - Battery life is not what was advertised. It lasts (in low power mode only a couple of hours at best when unplugged). To top it all off, the entire laptop froze this morning and was completely unresponsive. Ctr+alt+del, nor holding the power button down (which is not something I ever do since windows is sensitive to that, but sheesh even that didn't work). I finally held the power button down for several minutes, THEN it rebooted. Those are just to name a few. The issues are unacceptable for a laptop at this price range. Sincerely, A frustrated user

Would be great if it worked
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would be a great laptop if it worked. Within a year of owning this laptop I have had constant issues with the trackpad not working and cannot figure out why. I'm not sure if it is an issue inherent with this specific product or if it was damaged, as I've purchased an open box - excellent condition option. Now I'm writing this review from my 10 year old macbook because the Dell will not connect to wifi due to what seems like a hardware issue.

extremely noisy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fan on this laptop is like nothing I've ever heard. It is loud, very loud. To the point of being disruptive to the user and others in the vicinity. Not sure if that fan noise is the norm for this machine or we had a defective one. Because of this, the laptop was returned within 48 hours. Believe the other reviews and stay away from this laptop!

Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear about the fan noise that you had with your computer. In the future if you experience this issue with a Dell computer we'd recommend updating the BIOS on the computer to lessen the fan noise.

Touchpad doesn't work
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Within less than 24 hours after setting up the laptop, it locked up. Nothing worked, I was forced to do a hard reboot. Now I find that the touchpad sometimes does not work at all and I need to use an alternative mode of navigation. At other times, sometimes a few seconds later, the touchpad is working but the cursor drifts without me touching anything, leading me to click on the wrong things. Very frustrating. It seems this computer is a piece of junk.

Posted .Bryan,
We're sorry to hear about the touchpad issues that you're having. You can re-calibrate your computer's touchpad by following these steps:
Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. Here are some tips to modify these settings:
1. In the Search box, type main.cpl.
2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs.
3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab.
4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad.
5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option).
6. Change the options as preferred.
7. Touch or click Save.
8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility.
9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window.
10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.

Overpriced
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had so many issues with this computer within the first month. Mousepad non-responsive and/or would freeze for 5 minutes; fingerprint scanner is glitchy; pc would restart at random for no reason. Called Dell and they were like "oh okay, sorry about that"...almost as if they expected it. They did give me a full refund without any problem which is suspect.

Posted .TheTruth,
We're sorry to hear about the issues that you had with your new 2-in-1 computer. In the future here are the steps to help diagnose the freezes that you experienced:
1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Preboot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below:
a) Start the computer.
b) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every one second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.)
c) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter.
d) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access.
e) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete step 3 to see if you are able to resolve the lockups or freezing.
3. Check for Malware. Malware (Virus, Spyware, etc.) can definitely cause a Windows system to lock up or appear to hang. To check for malware on your system and to ensure that your computer is up to date on security software, visit Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2wWP1zI.

Webcam not working. They cant replace.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased it on August 5 via online. It wasnt available for pickup until August 13. So When i picked it up everything was good. This week. Sept 9-11, my webcam is not functioning and facial recognition is not working well. They siad I cannot have ot replaced because it is over 30 days from purchase. I only had it on Aug 13. So I was trapped due to technicality since the online order was purchased aug 5.. dell is only offering in home service or refurbished replacement. learn from my mistakes. $1,500 down the drain. Shouldve stayed with Apple.
