Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the touch screen, ease of use, and fast SSD as significant advantages. Many also appreciate its lightweight design and good performance for the price. However, some users find the keyboard too small, and a few have noted that the speakers could be better. Overall, the positive feedback outweighs the negative regarding this laptop.

I purchased this computer as an "open box" product. The wrong Windows 10 operating system was loaded on the computer so it had issues. I returned it for a full refund and purchased an HP computer.

    Almost perfect

I got the bigger screen model, 15.6”, over the 13.3” screen when they were on sale last week. With the sale price, college student deal and a geek squad open box, I was out the door for $453. This has all the features you could ask for in a laptop for the price. Boots up incredibly fast and has great battery life. It is a bit big to use as a tablet if you are holding it and it seems heavy. The specs say it weighs 4.83 lbs., but again if you are holding in your hands for a while it gets heavy. If you plan to use the laptop as a tablet a lot you may want to go with the 13.3” screen model. The screen is full HD but when you are using it in tablet mode and the screen is close to your eyes you can see some fuzziness in the text. I adjusted some settings to help alleviate this. Love the backlit keyboard and the touch screen. I wish it had a numeric keypad. I didn’t realize this when I bought it, and it may have been a deal breaker, but now I’m not going to return it just because of that. The laptop is very well built and feels solid. The screen hinges are firm and hold the screen at any angle and seem like they will hold up to regular use. I watched a few movies on it and the laptop doesn’t seem to get hot. With the solid state drive and the fan less CPU there are no moving parts to wear out. Overall I would rate this an excellent laptop and a great deal when it is on sale. The lack of a numeric keypad is disappointing.

I read all of the reviews, not only for which brand of laptop to buy, but also which model. I purchased this Dell online, and during the setup, the touchpad quit working. I switched to a wireless mouse and completed the setup. I restarted the computer, hoping that the touchpad would work. Nope! I spent 2 hours on the phone with Dell, and in the end it still didn't work. I returned it to the store and bought a Mac. This is the second Dell that I've had trouble with.

    Good 15 Inch 2-in-1 Laptop

This is one of the best price for a 2-in-1 laptop for personal use. Pros: SSD hard drive which is 256GB Good screen but not the best back lit keyboard Decent i5 dual core processor. Windows Hello works great Very thin 2-in-1 split works really well Cons: Two reasons for giving 4 starts instead of 5: 1. Laptop has a big foot print for a 15 inch laptop. My 5 year old dell laptop is little smaller in dimension (not thickness). 2. For a 15 inch laptop, they should have given a full keyboard with number pad. Instead the layout is similar to a 13 inch and lot of wasted spaces make it even bigger for a 15 inch laptop.

This purchase was made to replace another Dell computer that broke 4 times during the 7 months that I owned it. Best Buy gave me my money back on the old Dell computer. I have had this computer 1 month and it has stopped working. It is back at Best Buy getting fixed. If it shuts down again, I will request my money back and will purchase another brand.Best Buy has been great, but I will never buy another Dell product.

Windows 10 is a BIG SLOW SLUG

Only bought this computer because sales man said I could downgrade to Windows 7 from the control panel. The thing is after getting this thing home the only way to do this is if Win 10 was an upgrade. Win 7 was never on this thing so I'm stuck with Windows 10 !!! So I upgraded to 16 GB of RAM and did a clean install of Win 10 which helped a little but I still don't like Windows 10. Thinking of Installing Win 7 ...

This dell is the best I have ever owned. I bought one in 2006 and It still works I have tried HP they do not compare at all. This dell is super fast and the soild state is just the thing I have been waiting for.It never gets hot like the HP I returned. I had to return two oh them. They are junk. It took me awhile to get used to windows 10, about 29 min. is all it took. thank you DELL.

    From a College Student

This laptop is perfect! I am going into my first year of school and was in need of a quick, efficient and sleek looking laptop/tablet. I need it for browsing, crunching numbers and from time to time a game to relax with. Processing and startup are very fast, and it runs completely silent with the solid state drive. I'm already in love! Great computer.

First of all, who ever designed this was an idiot. The power button is on the front outside where you normally pick up the machine. 1st unit went back due to bad memory, second unit constantly locks up and needs rebooting. Ithink its the touchpad causing all the problems. Will have to send for repair.

    Excellent supplement laptop

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I use this laptop as a supplement to my Desktop (traveling, on the couch, etc.) For that, it is excellent. It is lightweight, thin, and very well built. The Brushed Aluminum case was a BIG selling point for me. It has good performance, with a reasonably fast i5 Dual Core CPU, an excellent 8GB DDR4 of RAM, and a very responsive SSD. The trackpad is large and very responsive. Its Infrared Camera for Windows Hello is very useful for a laptop. However, it doesn't work very well in low light or extremely bright environments. It is still an excellent feature. I'm not sure I would like it as my only computer, though. This laptop has no ability to connect to a docking station. So, using multiple displays might get messy with this laptop. If I used my laptop as my only computer, I'm not sure I would like this laptop as much. It also doesn't have a discreet GPU. Overall, most home users and students will find this laptop to work fine for them (even as their only computer). Most supplement users will love this machine. If you are a power user that wants a laptop to replace your desktop, then you might not want this machine. Other than for those users, this is a great machine. I really couldn't be much happier with it.

I had this computer for 2 days, when I went to turn it on it wouldn't boot up. I returned it. In the old days when you brought a more expensive product, it was a quality product, not so anymore. At a cost of $749.00 I expected quality, and what I got was a lemon.

Bought this to replace a win7 dell laptop and couldn't be happier. Solid state hard drive makes startup time much faster. Old machine was slow. At 265gb need to buy external drive, but performance makes it worth it. Battery life is excellent. The display is crystal clear. Touch screen is a huge plus. First time using on and makes navigation. 2 in 1 is also great as doubles as a tablet. Couldn't be more happy. 5 stars

OK, this is NOT a gaming laptop for high resolution, graphic and CPU intensive applications. I asked a Best Buy salesman named Hiep (pronounced Hip) in their Lincoln, NE store to show me a 13.3" i5 or higher, affordable 2in1 laptop with a backlight keyboard. This is what he showed me along with an HP Spectrum (very expensive). (Unfortunately they did not have any in stock and I was just visiting so I had to order and buy the Dell at home) It is...an excellent laptop for just about anything else except video editing of large files. And..except for those of us who just have to have an i7.... ;-) The memory is DDR4 and upgradeable to 16GB according to sources on the internet (2 slots). The SSD in the model I reviewed is a SanDisk Z400s....not a speed demon but significantly faster than any equivalent hard drive and uses less power without moving parts to worry about. It can also be upgraded. There are several YouTube videos on how to safely open the laptop and upgrade memory and drive. The backlight on the keyboard has two levels and both are excellent in low light and the dark. Key travel is short, but I was able to type rapidly without problem. Tactile feedback is good. Layout is good and the horizontal spacing is very close to full sized, with the vertical spacing a bit tighter. Streaming off the internet, the SSD or a USB 3.0 port is smooth and clear. Graphics are very good with clear text and good overall color reproduction: Intel 520HD. If you need more memory that 256GB, buy one of the micro USB flash drives attach it to the USB 3.0 port for an additional 128GB or so. Or..pop the case open and add memory to the 2 slots. The laptop boots up with the Win10 Hello function, which uses facial recognition to log you in, with an 8 digit pin as backup in case it can't recognize you. I've found it to be very good in both low and bright light situations. So far, it has not recognized anyone else that I've shown it too. You have the option at startup to skip that step. Currently selling at a discounted $749, I found this laptop hard to locate with several stores out of stock. However, twice in the past week, for a day, Best Buy has dropped the price of the i7 to $799 (from $999) that has 12GB of memory and a 512GB SSD. If you can find one of those you may want to spend an additional $50. The SSD is similar in performance to the one in the i5. The 7th generation i-series CPUs have been released by Intel and are in production in time for the holidays. These will have premium prices with improved graphic capabilities, including 4K....if you need that. Finally, there is a 15.6" version of this unit that I don't recommend. It is essentially a 13.3" mobo and parts in a larger case. I found the larger screen to be a little twisty when converting to table mode. And...the 13.3" is much easier to use when traveling by air.

Probably the best bang for your buck

This laptop was perfect for me for the price (because i'm attending college and i,m not made out of money). So money was a big deciding factor. It was either between the HP Pavilion x360 or this little beauty. I have done extensive research of both of them ( HP seems to be just an good, just personal preference) and I chose this one in the end. At the time it was on sale for $650 with the student discount (-$150), 2 year warranty (+$180), and office 360 home(+$70) came out to around $800 with Tax and everything. If you are deciding between an i5 and an i7. It is really not that much of a difference ( not for an extra $300 anyways, to me). Perfect little size for travel, some people complain about the weight, but I don't care. Its sleek and stylish looks like an apple at a glance with the block keys and white back light it looks upscale. Great performance, more than enough RAM and a really nice screen is well worth the money. There are one 2 gripes I have about it so far. It dose only have 2 usb ports instead of 3 , which would have been nice, and the charging chord feels REALLY flimsy, so if its plugged in and you accidentally catch the chord and pull it the wrong way you might as well call GEEK squad to repair your device with the warranty you bought along with it. All in all I couldn't ask for a better 2 in 1 for the price even if I tried, and I tried. I am always skeptical of these "deals" but best buy really did have the best one. Besides the 2 gripes the reason i'm giving this laptop a 4 of 5 is because I've only had it for about a week and am unsure about long term durability or performance. For right now though, all rainbows and sunshine. If things hold up I would give this a 5 of 5 easily.
